  • Ugly niggers! MLK was a commie fuckhead!

  • Truly, the greatest musical act of all time.

  • Damn. I never thought i would say that, but Thank you for sending me here ED.

  • I miss the 80s :C

  • This particular song calls back the sands of time to when I was carefree and full of awe and wonder about the world I live in. The course of life can sometimes take the wind out of your sails but hey that's where good friends, family links and strong relationships with loved ones come in no matter how far away you are from them even on your birthday it doesn't matter because friends and family back you up to the hilt, wonderful song best left in memory lane though x JJ

  • Formed by drummer and vocalist "Fat" Larry James (August 2, 1949 - December 5, 1987) 1977,

  • g8 song !

  • Dude looks like Pushkin

  • lary

  • Awesome song.

  • Class!

  • oh mna, I just love everyone with this song!

  • Fat larry is the lead singer

  • @charlenecole your wrong.. fat larry IS the drummer...

  • @FarCanaI he is right he was drummer and vocalist

  • @charlenecole wrong !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm assuming that's 'Fat Larry' on the drums? Not that it matters, just making an assumption. This is a great song.

  • That is a brilliant song. Fantastic to think that someone chose that song to perform on X Factor. those Judges should have been voted off. they obviously have a limited scope when it comes to fine music.

  • ED has good taste *_*

  • There is a new version released for 2011. It's called, (BOOM). :-)

  • This is one of my favourite songs of all times

  • god rest fat larry died too early

  • i put this song on when i was dating a girl and she immediately began to ride my cock all night until it was red and she was covered in my jizz

  • The official song of Encyclopedia Dramatica. Fuckers.

  • i thought it was sung by an 80s rock band, one of my faves!!!! gives me shivers!!!!

  • Memories!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • FUCK YES

  • Like this comment if Encyclopedia Dramatica brought you here?

  • ein ganz besonderes lied, speziel für meinen ehemann heiko und mir

  • omg... so many memories come back to me with this one. my mum used to play this alot when i was little

  • Why is Encyclopedia Dramatica so obsessed with this band... ?

  • @coolface22743

    because they suck

  • @TopTenCrew Thou cannot troll the trolls.

  • @coolface22743 I was actually about to post this.

I read their article, apparently they are rather captivated with how they rhyme "zoom, boom and moon" somewhere in this song.

  • @coolface22743 Because they're a bunch of niggers

  • My brother use to play keyboards for Fat Larry's Band. I remember as a teenager going to the rehearsals.

  • To be fair he wasn't that fat?

  • @FrankSidebottom He's very fat. You need to understand that he's only 4" 6" tall.

  • I want this song to be played at my wedding.

  • This song is so damn addictive!

  • Great song

  • musical gawds

  • Excuse me but I have to shoot the 38 people who disliked this.

  • I see the first thing ED didnt hate. Good choice.

  • @fredrick300 Yeah. But ED hates The Beatles. If Fat Larry's Band is the god of music, then The Beatles are the Jesus of music.

  • @fredrick300 you best be trollin

  • BBBOOOOAAAARRRRRIIIINNNNGGGG

  • @classyhobgoblin Please die.

  • "The rhyme of Zoom and Boom with Moon has captivated scholars of music for at least 100 years. If Shakespeare were alive today, he would go to school and earn three degrees in his pursuit of the genius that is locked within the lyrics penned by Fat Larry's Band. "ED

  • best band in the world fat larry you are the greatest most influential band in the world.

  • I Like the Drummer, he looks so cool!

  • @leinadwc "Fat" Larry James (deceased)

  • The Equivalent to Musical Gods!!, THE GREATEST BAND EVER!

  • I just can't quantify what it is that gets me about this song but when it comes on the radio in the car I must look like some complete nutter screaming it out at the top of my lungs. It gets me every time and long may it do so. I love it!!!

  • Its not all about heroin. He's with a girl,in a park, and they're falling in love whilst maybe having a smoke. Smack doesn't sound this this good on its own, far too melodic.

  • MOAR!!!

  • This song is actually very inspirational and moving, it takes a truly talented musician

to come up and perform such a lovely song while at the same time the game the game the game.

  • This song has the deepest lyrics,LIKE,EVAR

  • The majestic nature of this song brings out the greatness in every living being, Fat Larry's voice can extinguish an erupting volcano and calm a tidal wave at the same time.

The meaning this song has for the human race cannot be put into words, it's mythical nature will be remembered for centuries to come.

  • some1 kill these ppl plz!!!

  • this song is very very addicting, (:

  • lovely song and a great pity that the tone deaf know nothings that pass for judges in the British X Factor chose to rubbish it. The contestant who sang it was voted off and it is such a shame as I think he was very good, not the winner but still deserved to go much much further

  • @alfiesgirluk I know, but Simon Cowell has terrible taste in music.....

  • @alfiesgirluk Simon Cowell has no taste in music whatsoever...

  • @alfiesgirluk x factor rubbish everything that is good, including human intelligence

  • Zoom is a song that is about taking an intense intravenous hit of Heroin! True fact even if you didn't notice it first time around xx

  • I heard this Song many years ago, but I never knew whom sang it. It was only this

Morning when I was cleaning a Shelf in my Room that I heard it on the Radio. Close

to the end of the Song, the DJ said what I could make out as 'Barry, or Gary's Band'.

I always knew it was caled Zoom, I just never knew whom sung it. I now know it is

    Fat Larry's Band.

Thanks mingzhu, I finally found the Group whom sang it, & along with it, I found out

the Song after all this period!

  • cool tune love it great rumpy pumpy tune all agree ??????

  • Oh my ...it makes my eyes leak.....love it.....special time.X

  • The best decade of Music is the 80s!

  • @Daputaka You're kidding, right?

  • @Daputaka: 70's. I like the 80's, but it was the 70's!

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup

    Thanks for the correction bro...

  • @Daputaka I hate you. Or you miscalculated by 10 years.

  • @SomethingWeird42

What do you mean? This song was from 1982.

  • This brings back memories, thanks - great tune.

  • Smacked up piecies of shit. People die, its funds the afgan bad boys. It may have been cool at the time, not cool now.

  • @bonesstorage thts yy it was made at the time u dick O.o

  • @mariomeeky26 Not sure of your point.

  • Those suits give me erection

  • Strange because junk make me feel like a nice soft chair rather then zoom.

    Top tune though.

    Must be love.

  • zoom............................

  • 1982 = Zoom

  • A decent song I've not heard in years!

... and who the hell has voted a dislike to this song?! :-o #

It's much better than the songs of nowadays!

  • i don't understand this

  • I heard this was about drugs...wasnt certain but it can certainly be taken that way

  • Comment removed

  • Classic song but.....it's really about heroin addiction. ZOOM is or was slang word for this in the 80's. Listen closely to the words and it makes sense. Do a Google on it with reference to the meaning.

  • @robg9

Bugger! That's reallybad... I have loved that song forever and it has just been ruiened in a few seconds :-( Booo to that! You're right though just listened to it and it does seem that way :-(

  • @robg9 Bullshit. XD

    Really, just GET OUT. >O

  • @TehLeek He's right, you fucking tool. This song is about heroin. Which was a popular subject of songs in the 80's.

  • @Mustangx357x that makes a lot more sense than my mate's theory that Fat Larry wrote the song about his dog!

  • i love this song -it was in the charts when i had my first baby, and it was indeed zoom !!xx

  • my friend (KT) loves this choon ZOOM

  • my friend love this choon ZOOM (KT)

  • reminds so much of my beautiful wife who i lost nearly three years ago xxxxx

  • are they from camden new jersey

  • Classic 80s!!! 80s rules!!!

  • This song describes love's emotion. Your heart goes ZOOM!

  • my dads fav song and wen ever i hear it i think of him :)

  • I proposed to my current wife by sending her the link to this video over facebook. She said yes

  • @sheldon445 nice love story

  • @sheldon445 You proposed with a song about slamming tar? Haha.

  • its just..its just...like peace....

And no I'm not on something.

  • i reckon the bridge was the work of Larry so he could bag a share of the songwriting credits. It was his band after all but must have been hilarious when he produced that at rehearsal "ok guys here's my bit...faster and faster etc once in my lifetime etc." It works in a strange way though.

  • great song.

  • Great times, 80's were the best

  • I guess the drummer is Lawrence?

  • wait this song was in 1983..

  • This song makes me me weep with pleasure

  • The 80's were a time of fun and easy going times, God help us now! but these truly great songs bring me back to where I find some peace thinking of great friends,.

  • @InstantWinston Bonjour, fellow EDiot.

  • classic!! :D

  • too much... i havent heard this song since 1992

  • i'm 14 i first hered this song on only fools and horses i think its the episode called diamonds are for heather but i listened to it on youtube and listened to it every day since!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @1996dannyg same, but i'm 16

  • @1996dannyg was that the episode where del was dating a single mum?

  • @cakesfairy I think you're right, and she ends up going back with her ex leaving Del heartbroken. Only Fools & Horses had a knack of including incidental music at poignant moments, they only ever did it a handful of times but it was always effective.

  • fat larry was the drummer

  • does he really have a double bass drum?

  • i LOVE this song

  • LOL "I used to be a drug addict and this song saved my life". The song is about just that, getting smashed on cocaine. Every verse has a reference to being nutted on the stuff. Zoom is slang for coke, it's also why he died young....he loved the zoom too much..pity cos the song is genius and so were they...Darryl Grant was the singer, Fat Larry was the drummer (and not the one with the voice of an angel). If you listen ot the lyrics, it's an incredibly well encrypted song about getting mullered

  • @villadeddington glad to here a great song saved your life hope you are enjoying every moment good luck in the future buddy

  • @shuchr

sorry mate, it wasn't my life they saved, and if I had ever been suicidal I wouldn't post it on YouTube - My point is that it's actually a very serious song about 'zoom' which is coke / heroin etc and this song is actually quite sad as it highlights how it takes over your life - Can't quite see how a song like this would stop you from topping yourself, but each to their own - I think it was mkant66 you should have sent it to

  • fat larry james 1947 to 1985 too young to die 38 had a voice of a angel

  • @shuchr fat larry is the drummer not the singer the singer is called darylnn grant he has a voice of an angel:)

  • @1996dannyg thanks mate for the info on fat larry james he still was too young to die at 38

  • @shuchr yeh i know no one should die that young

  • this was played on the radio the same year as was "Heartbreaker" Dionne Warwick...beautiful...

  • i was 12 when this was out,good good times,wish i could go back

  • Zoom, just one look and then my heart went BOOM!.. Best days of my life! Thanks for sharing.

  • class song great memories

  • Happy memories Tulip!!!

  • ZOOOOOOOM!

    OOOOOH OOOOH!!

  • This is the most perfect example of musical expression ever produced by humans.

  • @ricex210

    Agreed.

  • I used to be a drug addict and alcoholic and I was planning to kill myself because I lost my iPod, but thanks to Fat Larry's Band and this heavenly song I decided to live! Now I get high on life!

  • People seriously like this? I listen to it because it's hilarious, not because it's good...

  • @TurudesRavenholt piss off freak

  • this is stupid, why do the people on ed like this so much? well...then again they think a really long cat is hilarious.

  • thanks to ED, i am now aware of how beautiful this song is and how amazing these guys were ;)

  • I like this alot, finally ED was good for something

  • I contemplated suicide once. The beauty of this song talked me out of it.

  • @mkant66 You should have killed yourself

  • @thunderballin Trying to be controversial? Or is it that you just don't like yourself?

  • @shirlsworth Lol, whats trolling?

  • @mkant66 nothings worth eanding your life

  • @mkant66 i feel you brother! I was in a similar situation

  • @mkant66 grow up?

  • ED guide ass moar!!1111111

  • A song written for me? HOORAY!

  • RIP larry great song

  • nice song ;)

  • I really like this song I first heard it as a kid on the radio and it stuck with me ever since. Lovely melody, nice rhythm and sweet lyrics. I wasn't born when this was made but it beats todays music hands down!!!!

  • Nice song indeed!

  • This song is part of the soundtrack to my youth...if that makes any sense. Takes me back to when I was 7 or 8 years old, the wonder years. Love it!

  • Just....EPIC!!!

  • Great!!! nice memories :))

  • What a beautiful song, I want this as my first song at my wedding :) <3

  • Ahh memories memories of good days

  • clap clap nice didnt know this came out the 80s love the disco version though, but this is smooth cool

  • people disliked this?they are going to justin bieber in music hall of shame....

  • Zoom was always one of the last songs to be played at the ending of the night at Genevieve's nightclub in Sunderland in the 80s ' if you didn't have a date by this time it was your last chance to scan the room for someone ( preferably the opposite sex ) who you had missed .............or seen earlier but wanted to try to find someone better first !!

  • @TheTexastom62 wow memories of yesterday

  • Fat Larry's.....best cheesesteaks in Philly when I was going to school!....Awesome song,,,,,,still sounds excellent!

  • my dad helped to write act like you know and lookin for love

  • i remember this when i was a kid i use 2 sang this sittin on my grandma porch honey i thought that porch was my stage and i was a fame star i knew the moon and stars came out 2 play the whole wide world went zoom

  • Only Fools man, Only Fools.

  • Always liked this song but I did not know it is really possible to see the moon and stars at noon...until I saw a breathtaking total eclipse, in 1999 in Hungary:)

  • people forget the importance of electronic keyboards nowadays
