Knowing what yer playing thru has a big impact on what you think you hear. The only real way is to do a blindfold test and let someone else plug you in without telling you which amp yer in. That would be far more scientific. :)
@LordSauceness That is a GREAT idea. Going down to GC soon (which I hate...just sayin') and try that out for myself. I wouldn't be all that surprised if the modeling software is from IK Multimedia. I use that in my DAW and love it. My Super Champ is VERY well represented in that program. It blew my mind. Wouldn't need to fire up 'puter for all those amps :):):)
Very cool review!! You may have just sold me on getting one!! If theres gonna be a difference...?...besides the GDec goijng thru the P.A. , think about the 10" vs. 12" of each amp as well. But still a very impressive demo/review !
Yes, I also I suspect that Billy Hell IS Gearmandude. The unmistakable voice and the "White coily cord"! The mask is off and the secret identity is revealed...me thinks so, maybe, maybe not!?!??? Is it live or is it Memorex? Is it a real Tubey Twin or a Digie G-DEC? Only the shadow knows....

Hey thanks for this demo and comparing it....Ive tried the mustang amps recently and they are quite nice but I noticed the low end isnt there...do you know how these sound and is there a good amount of low end coming from the G dec........thanks a lot
@drbillyhell Thank you, thought it looked active. Although side question again, what poweramp are those plugged into a behringer package? BTW, this was the best demo to watch for a gdec 3 30 performance wise. I will be getting a hold of one next month. Was going to get the 15 or boss eband for setting on the desk. After seeing/hearing the size through PA I have other thoughts besides just practice.
The G-DEC actually sounds clearer to me, but that could just be the placement of the camera's mic relative to the monitors it's going through. Still, they both sound great, and it's impressive that Fender's modeling of their blackface/silverface amps has gotten this good.
i use a g-dec 30 into a old bassman cab >not bad not bad at tall

Sounds closer to Tom Hanks than Jack Black, 'tisn't Gearmandude. :P

YOu need to consider the different speakers builds will have impact on the tone color.
Regardless ... the vid certainly proves a point ...
I may need to grab one of these G-Dec 30's and compare to my 70's baseman.

@mblue502003 if I was @Gearmandude how could I also be Jack Black? The mind wobbles!

I think the G-DEC sounds more like a Fender Twin.

hey, have you downloaded the latest Fuse 2? I just got this amp, and am wondering if the new version will help the bugs.

nicely done. what PA speakers are you using?

@Justaguyinnc
Behringer 212A - they are inexpensive and get the job done.

@Justaguyinnc
These are powered speaker b212a w/400 watt amp in the speaker. They retail for around $250. I would definitely get this over the eband.

@drbillyhell thanks, my bad looked up 212 and seen the 212xl's.

Wow...they are almost identical! Good to know the '69 is still able to keep up!

@karmalioness
I was a little blown away myself at how close they are. When I think I need a new amp I have to remind myself that my GDEC 3 can probably do it.

Thank you so much for this ! It has helped me to decide.......I am getting one !
