  • My cats roll in poo and just leave it to bake and crust, so regular baths are needed lol

  • Aw I bet your kitty loves all the attention you are giving to kitty! mew mew

  • Aw your kitty is so cute!!

  • cute shirt lol and the cat is adorable

  • I like your shirt girlyy!!!!

  • SWEET cat.

Seriously though, I find that unless your cat has hurt a paw or something, it's completely unnecessary to bathe it, it's usually perfectly capable of keeping clean by itself.

And if the cat is that unhappy about it, it's not nice no matter how much it needs it. :( You should care more about the cat's happiness than your carpets.

Anyway, putting that aside, that's not really the right way to bathe your cat =/ you should read that link yourself!!

  • I've posted that link to provide info that show ppl with your opinion (read old comments) that cats may be bathed, I didn't follow it in this particular bath... anyway, point me what's wrong in how I've done it...I'm sure I didn't harm my kitty, she actually loves to be bathed 2-3 times/year during summer hot days. Have other things ppl don't bother to think b4 say what they think they think... Lets say that she wouldn't be alive today if I didn't brought her home (this is real but relevant).

  • Humans took many centuries to think they've learn how to clean themselves. You can find lots of theories, from bath everyday to none at all, using this or that. This happens with humans, and I know some. They have their opinion, what can I say?in 100 years well be all remembered as retarded ppl,as we remember ppl from 1900,don't even need to go that far. Things and opinions are dynamic, changing all the time based on how far we think we can see.I don't see as far as I'd like too,but thats how we are.

  • Wow, get some new information. Your opinion, and facts are two different things. Stop shopping around your opinions as facts. That's careless. It is harmless to bathe your cat and they really don't get that stressed out over it to the point where it could be considered cruel. Find a new hobby. Please.

  • I'd say she needs to get some new information. At least when dude up there spreads his repeatedly he actually has the education to back it up. I say that because I've also spoken to a lot of vets about this and they say the same thing that he does. If you don't like the debate...stop reading.

  • Is this all that you do? Try getting facts instead of spreading your personal opinions around as facts.

  • cute kitty

  • what a cute, sweet kitty! ^_^

  • nice and fresh now!

  • Besides the health benefits for the cat, it seems that anything you would regularly have in your home, on your furniture, with your children and possibly in the food preparation area of your home should be washed or cleaned periodicly for your own health as well.

  • Sometimes the cats have excess fur or dander that can be cured with various shampoos (animal safe of course). Like if you dont want your cat having matted fur you can just wash it out. That is why training at an early age is necessary because cats a brutal ^^

  • alright, as a vet student i am fully aware of the fact that you aren't do any serious harm to your cat by bathing it but i need to ask why go through the process at all. the cat doesn't need it and it seemed like it was trying to escape the whole time (evidence in the wet marks on the man's legs). i'm not telling you to stop, i'm just wondering why.

  • Thx for the comment... at that time she was 1 year old. No fleas, and not dirty at all (not that much). If cats go adult, with no water experience, will be much harder to give them a good bath when really needed... Try to run is normal (instinct) even if she likes water, the shampoo part cannot be aborted when its already aplyed... I only do that in summer period, and I can assure you she loves, even if at a point she wants to run.

  • okay, thanks for replying but you didn't asnwer my question. why are you doing this to your cat? was she excessively dirty or rolled in something smelly? or are you just bathing her because you want her to smell a certain way?

  • There's a lot of reasons to give a cat a bath. Giving a young cat a bath helps get them acclimated to the water and also helps the owner refine their bathing technique the next time a bath is needed, whether it be fleas, mud, smelly, dirty (dead skin, hair and saliva) or whatever. It's better to get the cat used to water rather then not to try at all. That way, both feline and humans can get used to the process.

  • Hygienic purposes only...

But when well done, you get confidence enough from the animal (I've seen dogs that hate water pretty more than any of the cats I have or had) to make it easier with the time. Education in progress... her vet say thx.

  • i guess he did it cause his cat didn't smell like perfume anymore.....think about it! a cat smelling like a cat *overdramatic gasp* the horoor! THE HORROR! .................sorry.....

  • thaaaaank you. finally someone else points that out

  • I give my cats baths from time to time. When he gets in,he just lets me do what I have to do then he leaves. After he leaves he goes and licks himself, I think its just to get the excess water off of him though.

  • Thats cool ... I think that cats that don't like water had in past a traumatic experience (most part of the times, because owners). I had 2 different cats in my life and both seem to love water, and better than that, I feel that they like the result (clean fur, and Apple smell). They have a very dense fur, so they still a bit of time drying body, with tongue, liking any remaining water.

  • Cats can take bathes, yes, he was licking, but that's just to straighten out his hair after the bath, its no big deal, it does help their fur especially if they have fleas or lots of fur. Not all cats like water, but not all dogs like water either, so that comment is useless.

  • kela ta toma banho más ki mi

  • I got your point... for real. I just reacted to your first comment showing you that is not that bad for cats to take a bath from time to time. My cat smells aplle most part of the time, and the fur becomes brighter and healthy after each bath. And the most important thing... Im not suggesting that everybody should make the same thing with their cats just because I do. My cat loves water... read the end of the article linked on description to see that lick thing is perfectlly normal after a bath.

  • The reason why cats dont need a bath lyk dogs do is because they can clean themselves, so theres not much point in bathing them, you can also see on ur video one of the first things your cat does is begin to clean itself after its bath!

  • thx ^^ glad i'm not the only one who thinks that

  • lol i no everyone just tries to contradict each other but majority of cats dont like water, but now n agen u get the weirdo ones who do :D

  • erm...all that and you missed my right hind foot!

(my cat is 12 and has never been touched with a drop of water - so far so good. I cringe to imagine what it would be like if I HAD to bathe her. A suit of armor would be in order!)

  • Lol... thats cool for your cat, and for you... by your right hind foot, I guess you meant that if your cat done good in 12 years with no bath... everybody else should skip the bath thing... by other words you're not bothered with his/her body fur and general health... just that its ok for you... and have to be like that for everybody else... right?

  • Not at all. It just never occurred to me to bathe her. When I lived where there were lots of fleas I bathed my cat (different cat) all the time. This cat has never had fleas (in 12 years - amazing!!). My mom is something of a minor cat expert and she said they usually don't need it - they take care of themselves. As for the "right hind foot" - I found it hilarious that after all that work you all did, the VERY first thing he did was to start bathing. that's all. He seems to like it.

  • : ) Im not expert in cats. Had 2 cats in diferent times of life (not together)... both had the same training, and both were used to take a bath from time to time, depending on season. Even though cats are not like dogs in training process, my cats were trained to respond to many voice commands (no,stay put, get in, lay down, etc). And both were water lovers. As her Vet aproves... just have to say thx for all the reactions.

  • check out "cat bath hell" - it's sort of funny except the cat is NOT having a good time. I fear that would be me. You're kitty is purrrrrty!!!

  • thaaaaank you, finally someone pointed out that they usually don't need baths

  • Cats wash themselves but when you're living inside with humans, sometimes those standards aren't good enough. Anyways, a bath doesn't dry out their fur or is harmful to them. The shampoo is more important. A bath helps clean them more better and makes them smell nice. So yes, baths do help. Whether is necessary or not depends on how lazy you are as owners. Most owners with multiple cats have stinky homes cuz they are too lazy to wash their cats.

  • you know, it sometimes happens that cats smell like cats...usually if they#re allowed to roam in- and outside they won't smell...

  • Not always. Cats stink over time. You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise. It's common sense to know that a cat's tongue isn't made out of perfume. The saliva and dead skin and hair also doesn't help. Sometimes I wonder if you even own any cats. You say that sometimes cats smell like cats, which proves my point!

  • yeah, but if you can't handle your cat smelling like an animal you're not really my visio´n of a responsible owner! they don't need to smell like apples for gods sake....

  • How is wanting your house to smell nice equal being an irresponsible owner? Your logic and reasoning is flawed.

  • i said i think it's irresponsible to wash your cat so it smells for ex. like apples and not like cat anymore. smelling like an animal doesn't mean dirty. dirty would be if she really smelled like she rolled around in something dead.

  • some apartments only allow pets if the owner keeps good house work of their place. like if the apartment stinks, then the owner can fine or even possibly evict the people. plus cats and dogs smell over time. unless you like the smell of shit and piss, then washing your cat would be a smart thing to do. animals in the wild don't need baths because they clean themselves but that doest mean humans can tolerate it.

  • you seem to forget that SOME cats don't roll around in their excrements or go outside if they have to go......washing cats???? it's like cutting off dogs ears.....totally unnecessary

  • Now you're way out of line on this one SaraSidleXShego. Comparing cat baths to docking off a dog's ears is by no means a fair comparison to make. If you don't have to bathe your cat, then more power to you. Personally, I bath my cat because it helps reduce my allergies while also helping him improve his digestive tract. Not everything is black and white; you can't make generalizations that all cats don't need baths.

  • you're right too of course, in some cases it's really necessary. but bathing cats in general is not.

  • I have 3 cats and my husband gives them a bath every 2 weeks they like it after the bath they are so happy and content !and it keeps them smelling fresh and my 5 year old daughter loves to cuddle with them when they are smelling clean!

  • but if she smells like a cat she smells like her normal self, not some doll you keep just for the sake of having a good image......smelling like an animal isn't equal to reeking like something rotten,

  • Now your just being melodramatic and over exaggerating. washing your cat is far from clipping off their ears. Don't even try to justify that comparison because you'll just wind up looking foolish and ignorant. It's obvious that your ignorant on the subject of bathing your cat. Go to any veterinarian and they'll all tell you that it does more good then harm for the cat. Is a bath necessary? Not always but for a lot of cats it is necessary. You seem to think that all breeds of cats are the same.

  • Some cats really DO NEED HELP with their hygeine. What you can't comprehend is that CATS DON'T HAVE PERFECT HYGEINE. Their tongue can't clean off everything. Most cats can do a thoroughl enough standard but you act as if an owner who helps their cat become healthier is torture, which is far from the truth. Ever adopted or rescued a stray cat from the streets or shelter? They smell like piss. Bathing them prevents your apartment or house from smelling like piss and shit.

  • I suggest you quit being so ignorant and self righteous and get off that high horse of yours. All you're doing is criticizing the owners for keeping their cat healthy and clean. It's good to wash cats over time. Stop lying to yourself and saying that all cats don't need baths. Better yet, quit busting the owners balls about bathing their cats. I'm sure they have a good enough reason to do so.

  • i'm sure they have plenty of reasons but nonetheless cats usually HATE water

  • Cats also hate medicine and needle shots, so what's your point?

  • I suppose you probably only take showers when your own body odor starts to wake you up at night. After all, we're all just animals, it's unnatural to do such a thing as clean ourselves with soap and water!

Also, these are domesticated animals we're talking about here, it's not as if their livelihoods havent already been shaped to fit the needs of their owners to begin with.

Lastly you need to chill the fuck out.

  • Erm, ur not really sposed to bath cats, its bad for their fur, dries it out if u no wat i mean!

  • As I cant put an url on a comment, I updated the video description so you just had to click in the link and go to a place where you could learn some few tips about how to give a bath to a cat... was the first one listed on google when searching for "bathing your cat" ... not related or sponsored by any means, anyway for what I saw in a diagonal read, fits perfectlly on the purpose of this comment reply... if the Canada's Pets Information Center gives tips about how to (...) you know what I mean?

  • Great video - BTW, what's the name of this song you used? :)

  • Thx ; ) The song was created using Soundtrack 1.5 application... wich provides you a great royalty-free starter library (more than 4000 loops to mix as you like...this, of course, if you work with licensed software).

  • Nice job guys!

  • For some reason this made me laugh really hard.
