As an American who owns a Harley Fat Boy (never rode a wide glide) I happen to like that one. I rode a Triumph Thunderbird Touring. The engine pulled like nobody's business! That thing was like a rocket. Being older, however, I am interested in comfort. That's basically the ONLY reason I got the Harley.
I understand what you are saying and I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinions but when you're doing a comparison of products and your "winner" is the alleged "worst" product as announced by the reviewer then there's something to be said for lack of objectivity or even credibility..

I would rather have the triumph not because im British but because there is only a few places in the UK you can get a harly serviced. Plus triumphs have been known to be more reliable not like the British bikes of the past.
HD's have the authentic image? Had HD's and vics, and the victory's turn far more heads. Was at a Harley event and they let a kid pick best bike in show and he picked a victory, was classic

Rokon motorcycles (American Motorcycle Company) uses a 6HP Kohler Command engine for their Trail-breaker model motorcycle. Kohler is a American Engine Manufacturer, so you think your buying American, but the Kohler Command engine is really a Yamaha (Japanese) engine, which Yamaha has made in China. That is only a few examples....
@themaxrlder Most Harley's are fuel injected, so they are not using Chinese carburetors. Every bike manufacturer uses foreign parts, including Victory. Talk to your sell out politicians. They created the global market. Free trade to them is open up the American market while everyone else protects their economy.
Excellent review! Life is all about what drives you. I love all motorcycles because each one is special in it's own way. I don't spend time wondering why someone would buy or desire a different style or brand of motorcycle. I would love to own all three motorcycle. I am becoming more and more impressed with victory and triumph motorcycles. Keep up the good work guys.

Well Iv been riding for over 35 years so I am a bagger type. Yep when I go ridding its more than just to some local bar,, that being said I have had many Harleys and Triumphs and like em both but after I test road a Victory Cross Country I fell in love with it,,, For a motorcycle that's only been around a short time I was blow away. I bought one and cant stay off of it.

I Agree with the video, I was in the market for a new bike and wanted a cruiser, I love Triumphs and thought about the Thunderbird, but would have to say when asked what it was, that its like a Harley. So with that in mind I brought a Harley Fat Bob

@motorhead1 That is a very good argument :D I like the HD sound but I dislike the fact that everything that has the HD emblem on it is a lot more expensive than other ones and a lot more to actually consider Triumphs cruisers almost one of the best quality/price manufacturers. Ofcourse there is also a mater of taste, I love the looks of Triumph America and the technology on the Thunderbird :)

Each has its own characteristics and merits - and faults. I own an HD Electraglide, Victory Hammer, and Kawasaki ELR 1000R. Love 'em all. This is very strange. They didn't really review anything, all they did was say that all the bikes were good, the Triumph and Victory were better, but just buy a Harley for it's image. Anyone who buys a Harley (or any other bike) for the image perhaps ought not be riding anything at all.

In america 30% of all bikes are harleys. Its the most common bike. Buying a harley is the best way to become invisible to all except other harley riders. Their shortcomings are not important as most harleys spend their life parked in front of a bar. Harleys are the perfect lemming bike.

Well, there is at least some truth in the vid...if it ain't a Harley people won't find it very special. My opinio? Go do a test drive. Every brand offers the opportunity to make a free test drive. Then buy the one YOU like most. For me that was the Harley because it fitted my size the best, I like custums and Harley simply offers alot more opportunities there and sinds I don't want to ride the same bike for 10 years, Harley simply will offer you the best turn in value.

Because they may have gotten to keep the Harley for the comments. Triumph has more heritage than the Harley does They started building bikes before Harley did. And they have improved their product. Harley still has chain tension-er metal grinding and those shavings getting into the engine oil to self destruct the engine. Triumph gives you more for your money in less down time.
I like the other bikes, but a Harley is a Harley. Where I live they maintain their resale value better, and because of the name people want them. Not that they're a better bike. It's just for name's sake. I've seen some great Victory and import bikes too but some of them are getting closer and closer to Harley prices. So why buy a copy cat bike that will lose it's resale value quicker???

I have alot of Harley buddies that still snub their nose at my Victory even though its got the same or more american parts on it. I owned a triumph america as my first bike..I got hit on it snapped my foot in half, was a good bike but I ride and maintain a BMW airhead now and with that bike its its own zen. I have not ridden the thunderbird im SURE its awesome if not a little strange looking. I have ridden Vics, they dont strike any emotion. rode every type of harley...Dynas and Touring bikes arent bad at all, and I get a special feeling riding one even if theres china/india parts now.=( upgrades make them FUN 140RWT?
Why buy a superior bike when you can roll up on an identical bike (minus trinkets) at a stoplight and get the nod of approval from another rider? If I wanted a superior collection of t-shirts and approval from the masses, I'd buy the Harley. I personally buy a bike for the ride, reliability, and my personal preference. I really don't give a shit if you approve, and I suspect real riders would agree. I'm not saying Harley's riders aren't real bikers, but most wannabes ride Harleys.
What he should have said was why buy and "image" of Indian when you can have the actual bike. Japanese cruisers try to look like Harley's. Brit bikes have never tried to look like anything and knew the only way to sell to the American market was to take on a traditional cruiser design and did. And anyone who actually knows motorcycles it's history, know's Harley always tried to look like Indian. Indian 1901, Triumph 1902 came before Harley 1903. Two wheels are two wheels, get over it.

So in short he is saying instead of buying a good motorcycle that has good brakes, is quick and is comfortable, get the piece of shit Harley because of the name. I would much rather get the victory because its a higher displacement, 5 year warranty and 100,000 warranty on the transition. If you buy the shitty Harley you get 2 years and then as an added bonus you get to change the cam tensioners at 60,000km. That is a fantastic design feature(sarcasm) and not mention a money grab. Harley is shit!
Actually, the HD wideglide was one of the best handling models. That's why they brought it back. A lot fo people don't know that while they look very similar, their wheelbases, rake and other details are slightly different.
@PaKdlunch Well you can buy an image or you can buy a huge aftermarket venue and the support of a Harley specific shop with Harley specific parts actually in the shop where as if you buy a victory and break down in some random middle of nowhere town it may take a couple of weeks to get your bike up and going. You might want something that looks like plastic but the rest of us know that Harley has a much larger variety when it comes down to it.

@MnDeerHunter09 The Wide Glide wasn't created for sport bike qualities hence the chopper-like appearance. It will, however, perform sufficiently to satisfy most appetities. If more is needed, buy a different bike, perhaps a V-Rod that outperforms all three would better suit you.

Rokon motorcycles (American Motorcycle Company) uses a 6HP Kohler Command engine for their Trail-breaker model motorcycle. I don't spend time wondering why someone would buy or desire a different style or brand of motorcycle. I would love to own all three motorcycle. Yep when I go ridding its more than just to some local bar,, that being said I have had many Harleys and Triumphs and like em both but after I test road a Victory Cross Country I fell in love with it,,, For a motorcycle that's only been around a short time I was blow away. Then buy the one YOU like most. Because they may have gotten to keep the Harley for the comments. Triumph has more heritage than the Harley does They started building bikes before Harley did. And they have improved their product. Harley still has chain tension-er metal grinding and those shavings getting into the engine oil to self destruct the engine. Triumph gives you more for your money in less down time.

I like the other bikes, but a Harley is a Harley. Where I live they maintain their resale value better, and because of the name people want them. Not that they're a better bike. It's just for name's sake. I've seen some great Victory and import bikes too but some of them are getting closer and closer to Harley prices. So why buy a copy cat bike that will lose it's resale value quicker???

I owned a triumph america as my first bike..I got hit on it snapped my foot in half, was a good bike but I ride and maintain a BMW airhead now and with that bike its its own zen. I have not ridden the thunderbird im SURE its awesome if not a little strange looking. I have ridden Vics, they dont strike any emotion. rode every type of harley...Dynas and Touring bikes arent bad at all, and I get a special feeling riding one even if theres china/india parts now.=( upgrades make them FUN 140RWT?

What he should have said was why buy and "image" of Indian when you can have the actual bike. Japanese cruisers try to look like Harley's. Brit bikes have never tried to look like anything and knew the only way to sell to the American market was to take on a traditional cruiser design and did. And anyone who actually knows motorcycles it's history, know's Harley always tried to look like Indian. Indian 1901, Triumph 1902 came before Harley 1903. Two wheels are two wheels, get over it.

So in short he is saying instead of buying a good motorcycle that has good brakes, is quick and is comfortable, get the piece of shit Harley because of the name. I would much rather get the victory because its a higher displacement, 5 year warranty and 100,000 warranty on the transition. If you buy the shitty Harley you get 2 years and then as an added bonus you get to change the cam tensioners at 60,000km. That is a fantastic design feature(sarcasm) and not mention a money grab. @PaKdlunch Well you can buy an image or you can buy a huge aftermarket venue and the support of a Harley specific shop with Harley specific parts actually in the shop where as if you buy a victory and break down in some random middle of nowhere town it may take a couple of weeks to get your bike up and going. You might want something that looks like plastic but the rest of us know that Harley has a much larger variety when it comes down to it.

every nut and bolt on either of these bikes no matter if its metric or sae are made right here in the usa.
i owned a metric rice bike and now i own american and trust me the build quality is far superior to what my honda was!
surface rust does ooze from the fasteners on the asian bikes,if you leave it out on a dewy night,thats a fact.
that has yet to happen to my harley,my freind has a hammer and his doesnt do it either.
both the american bikes use better quality steel,american steel!!!!

@MnDeerHunter09 The Wide Glide wasn't created for sport bike qualities hence the chopper-like appearance. It will, however, perform sufficiently to satisfy most appetities. If more is needed, buy a different bike, perhaps a V-Rod that outperforms all three would better suit you.
