I just finished reading the novel and I'm still hoping to catch the movie before it ends. I cried many times in reading this novel. And my heart broke in the heavy parts! They did not end up together but I thought it was a touching ending. And the end part felt like they were together again..somehow. :) BTW, Nice quotes!

I think at the end, they were together again. That's just my personal opinion though. I think everyone has their own inference about the ending. And my own opinion, is that, they got back together.

yeah, but I'm affraid it'll be like forever until dvd comes out!
and I don't know how you feel with that, but honestly I prefer watching that kind of movies at home, it's more personal then and nobody is disturbing you at the time you want to think about something which is related with the movie. I guess, I'm more about tasty coffee, fruits and movie for no one other, but myself. ^ ^.

I wish people can still fall in love with each other that much! it's almost impossible, but so amazing feeling to imagine something like that happining in a real life. since the first day I've seen that movie I'm thinking about that kind of love. still, both novel&movie are wonderful. it's much more deeper story than all other stories which have been written recently!&as for me, I'm glad that they've stayed with that open-ending, which gives reader the possibility to'read between the lines'

i agree with markjenismyno1 at the END they were together again ... i think Tim eventually will die and they will both stay together .. the movie was great and so was the book .... Sad but BEAUTIFUL story im not sure that people fall in love like that anymore !!!

I just finished reading the novel and I'm still hoping to catch the movie before it ends. I cried many times in reading this novel. And my heart broke in the heavy parts! They did not end up together but I thought it was a touching ending. And the end part felt like they were together again..somehow. :) BTW, Nice quotes!

I think at the end, they were together again. That's just my personal opinion though. I think everyone has their own inference about the ending. And my own opinion, is that, they got back together.

@shaduglo Her being forced to marry another guy is explained in a similar way in the movie, but they did leave some stuff our that bothered me. I think you should probably read the book to find out though :)

saw the movie today! I cried soooooooo much! like a cry babu! I was wearing mascara and eyeliner and it came running down black and that happened to my friend too! the book is rlly good and better than the movie but so sad at the ending :( nickolas sparks books are always great. read them before u see the movie. deft getting this on DVD and gonna cry seeing it again too :)
