One of the 1st things I noticed about ATR is that you can smash throttle on 1st gear from 5mph to limiter and tyres won't slip on dry surface. Didn't have that luck in my previous Celica ST202, where I had to use 90% or loose time when launching. In ATR also the second gear is simply brutal, when vtec engages, nothing like the underpowered ST202. Overtaking 2 cars takes same time as 1 car in standard tdi saloon. Great car.
The speed this thing goes from 80-100mph is stunning.... pure vtec in motion here.
People (usually americans) can chat as much shit as they like about vtec engines having no torque.... but the acceleration to be had in vtec is sensational.

@BENCHORD I AGREE WITH U MATE! awesome car, i had an integra type r and thats supposed to be best FWD car ever!! but i find my accord type r is easier to handle, i love the feel of the steering too.the grip is phenomenal!!! although the integra was awesome,and i love them both. i just find myself loving the accord type r a little bit more

an accord would need a lot more than a chip and a filter to bring it there, add in an exhaust, manifold, camshafts, throttle body and inlet manifold, or as said before a turbo, the reason the acceleration is so fast is due to close gear ratio's, it gets to 100 fast enough but after it's a lot more effort as the gears get longer

Nice. Yup, and that Japanese variant was sold in Asia, I was in Singapore last year and rode in my mates one whilst he was giving it a thrashing. It was the newest Euro-R (TSX bodystyle for the american's). I drive an S2K, loved the Euro-R though, practical and fun. :)
I'm sure he would say yes but I rolling roaded 220hp 162 tq and as you can see it's no slouch so I'd say he'd be hard pushed even with his ITB's. Unfortunately we are both fast nutters too so neither would give up! :D

This is a UK CH1 and they don't weigh 1,420, official book figure is 1,330kg but it's actually less than that without a full tank of fuel. :)
