  • Hi,

You can send this pache for me?

    Thank you!

    Marcos

  • Congratulation dude.

Grazie mille.

  • 4 people dont like music!

  • The ONLY reason I don't sell off my Yamaha EX7 for a Kurzweil is because of the lack of dynamic electric guitars on Kurzweil. The "true sound" is right-on on the Kurzweil and is better than the Yamaha...but is somehow less responsive. I'd love to somehow be able to merge the capabilities of both. I use Kawai K5000 and Akai S5000 in addition to EX7 and I love to meddle around with Floydian themes alot(no pun intended). Are the Floydian sounds you're using specially sampled? How did you do that?

  • @brofjw Hi mate, and congratulations for your great gear! The reason why I am using only Kurzweil since so long time stays in the flexibility of the VAST, and in the fact that when you get used to something and have just a few minutes to spare everyday, you'd probably tend to keep using the same synth. Anyway, there are no samples in this Soycd sound. The original program was made by Mr. Daniel Fisher, one of the greatest Kurz experts in the world. I worked a lil bit on effects and response.

  • Great job man. Both programming and performance :)

  • wow, that's great, fantastic sound!

  • dude that is badass! I've never seen that touch thing before

  • ehy dude..awesomeeee!!! waht pad do you use for the basic chords?

  • Perfect!

  • sounds exactly like the live version, just great, but I cant help to think it reminds me of runescape's music

  • That is the internal sounds of the keyboard?

  • P.U.L.S.E. version!!!!

  • i just now stumbled across this video and I am simply blown away! everything sounded dead on if only Rick and syd were around to see this....

  • How did you get the desending note at the begining of the track? sounds great ;)

  • pink floyd classic - syd barrett

  • davvero fatto bene!

    Bravi! : )

    Ago

  • its played good, only the sound is a bit out of tune, maybe adjust your waveform to a little faster

  • @mikak3607 I like the effect caused by this slight detuned sound ;-)

  • That sounded great! I just bought a K2600 to do floyd and am going crazy...everything is a dead link. Is there anyway I can get that file or any other floyd sounds. I really need the lead and synths for WTTM.

    Thanks!

  • Excellent.

  • very very good

  • Tasty!

  • everything is fine so far but the speed you push the keys are out of synch, specialy at the beginning, but keep trying and stop missing notes

  • bien el mejo asta ahora .!!!

  • Good Job, Jabel... in other time, please make long the performace on this song. Very good sounds. Pink Floyd use the Kurzweils Shynths, right ?

  • I just wrote here a coment, but its gone, i dont know why...

well, you done a great job here, congratulations. can you send me the KRZ files? I just got a K2000 synth and I'm just get starting with it...

    thank you.

  • i have a kurzweil k2661...could you tell me what voice your useing here? or effect?...thx

  • Very nice... could have fooled me!

  • well , IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINCRIBLE

  • lolz, Im guitarrist, It's very funny watching this guy doing the bendings with that touch system. Lolz, I never thought that was possible!

    Well done!

  • el mejor cover que e esuchado.. good very well..!!!

  • sin duda muy buen talento y feeling pero objetivamente teniendo esas maquinas se puede lograr esto y mas GOOD WORK

  • Incrible!

  • @BigTymerPimp Get the new pc3k.

  • 5 stars! i like how you can do the pitch bending with your fingers

  • I must have it...this is my dream workstation. WHY DAMNIT?! WHY DOES IT COST SO MUCH!?!? I hate the price of instruments, especially the good ones.

I'm sure Rick would be applauding you right now if he could see this. This is awesome man.

Dude...can you buy me one of those workstations? lol

    Just kidding...but seriously...buy me one.

  • Awesome! Great Sounds on that keyboard, And you've played it so well. Rick would be proud.

  • Great Job !!! :D

  • This is bloody amazing mate!!!

  • One can be uber-techy and uber=expert on some of the commentary fellas. As long as you keep the tech stuff without personal invective..it's ok.

Music , unless you are saddled with a gestapo piano teacher, and are playing Edvard Grieg music...(he was The TOTAL CONTROL FREAK of all musical time) let the poor suffering artist slide a sideways a little. I had a gestapo Grieg experience and LOVE freedom of interpretation.

Thanks for the music, and the expert comments without invective.

    Tom in Utica

  • No videos, no proof of your talent, no pic...gtfo, scrub, we don't need your kind in here. The guy did his job alright, so if you don't have any constructive criticism, then might as well save our time and stay away from the "post comment" button.

  • Just listen to the original. If you do not notice the difference... poor boy...

  • Did he ever try to do it -exactly- like the original? Has it ever occurred to you that no living person as of today has ever accomplished this, not even the original composers of the song. There are always small details that makes every attempt different, so don't come with the "don't you see the difference?" bs.

  • you must try sometimes, this boy is very good, but original is original,,,,,,,

  • What's the sound using here??? excuse me, I'm composing a theme and I need this sound... THANKS !!

  • Epic!

  • Perfect!

  • excellent work.. great tone.

  • is this the daniel fischer patch?? the lead need more accurate Vcf section in my opinion =P need to slow the attack of the filter!

  • do u have a 61 keys on this kurzweil k2600x??

  • why does this synth cost like £3000? im jst asking, great cover btw

  • it is the greatest synth ever made

  • if you can play a Pink Floyd song and sound this close to the studio version. it deserves the price! hahaha I want one :(

  • That's shockingly close to the original, well done that man!

  • nailed it!!!

  • excelent work on the sound jabel77

I just bought an old K2000 and was wondering if you have instructions or the patch to create this sound, It wil help me and my band very much playing this one!!!

  • pal piko!!!! igual la wea!

  • nice, ....

  • Wow nice cover dude!!!

  • wow that was awesome!!!! It sounds so much like the song!

  • Great sound and duplication. I wish I had the pitch slide on mine. I bet it would be great to do pedal steel like the lead in high hopes?

  • Wow...

Now i became your personal fan , exelent !

  • Hi guy. Really cool cover on thatmasterpiece. How & where did you get the right sound patch for starting pad (or loop instead). Was it a K2600 "basic" patch or something else? Tks for your help

  • I've been wondering the same thing. I have this same keyboard, but none of the on-board strings sound even close to this, and that high lead moog is nowhere to be found either. :( Please let me know if you find out any info on this!

  • I've a K2600RS and a K2VX (basically a K2000 extended). On the last, you can find a stock patch called "Shine On" and it sounds almost like the real thing, at last concerning the pad (the lead horn isn't there tought). So, i suppose u could easily replicate that sound over ur K2600, as these machines are somewhat compatible.

  • That is true, the original patch was developed by Mr. Daniel Fisher on a K2000. I had the V3 and it used to sound quite similar to the original. The biggest intervention in here is on the lead and on the KDFX.

  • Strangely, the strings pad sound from this is the hardest to replicate.

  • Great Sound & Great Performance! Can You send me the patch or tell where to download it? Thanks in advance!

  • Outstanding! You can play at my party anytime.

  • Hello my friend, check my videos (click on my nickname), I have uploaded a live version of "shine on", I hope you enjoy it!

  • where is the 2cond part? great!

  • Masterpiece !!! Added to my favs. Thanx for sharing.

This is a great adv for the Kurzweil K2600X :D

  • it's beautiful. do you know if i can make this sounds with kurzweil pc3x?

  • Aahhhh!

Brings back fond memories of the late 1980s when I was a Floyd Freak!

  • very nice and very well in pink floyd's spirit

  • Does the sound of the telecaster solo come from a patch from the K26xx or a custom sampled one, cause it's almost perfect? Reverb is more long on some phrase on the original.

The pad, is beautiful, but doesn't sound as deep as the true one ans sound "sampled". I think Wright layered at least two K2(5?)00 to obtain this, + a moog and later a Roland D50 as lead horn.

All in all, you're demo is superb!

  • Tuuu...

  • Very similar sounding with Pink Floyd. I have such Kurzweil too

  • hello jab , dreaming this setup on my kurz 2600s. rick the best for ever..

  • Any true Floyd fan would appreciate your work jabel77 as do I. I do have a Kurz and I would love to have a copy of your file if you could possibly find it.. great work again and best wishes

  • Thank you! I agree, a masterpiece doesn't actually need to be so difficult... and real masters know!

    Ciao from Italy :)

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent work!

  • hello and congratulations on this wonderful demo of k2600 I would

intersser I get to shine on the patch, so that you can use it on

my K2500, es it possible and if so where can I download it, eventually

    buy it if necessary?

    thank you

  • Beautiful, Rick Wright used this Kurzweil on tour with floyd replacing his analog gear for the first time to do this in 88-89. (maybe it was k2000) Played great and sounds great... :-)

  • Yeah it was a chain of K2000 controlled by a Kurzweil Midi Board...

  • Hi Jabel77,

First of all : congrats with this emulation.

Eyes closed and lots of people would swear that it' Floyd somehow .

I ve got a k2000 and i was wondering what presets those strings(pad) are .

Normally the soundstructure of the 2600 and the 2000 are the same.

  • Hello fetsorg,

The patch has been initally created by Mr. Daniel Fisher for K2000, and it plays quite fine on that device. I used to have a K2000R V3 and a K2500, and it sounded very fine on those machines also. Obviously the K2600X I have now, being equipped with KDFX, is much better. I don't know where I have put the file; if I find it out, I'll be glad to send it to you. All the sounds used are resident. Greetings from Italy !!

  • Hello Jabel77,

Very very good job ! :o)

I have a question : do all sounds come from the K2600 or did you sampled some of them (synth lead and organ "strings" for example) ?

I'm going to buy a K2600 (without the sample function and with only 64 MB of RAM) and I would like to know if I will be able to play this song like you...

    Thank you.

  • Hello Wooldorak,

Thank you! all the sounds are resident. No samples have been used, I don't have sampling option either- this is the most amazing emulator in the world :-)

  • I've listened to it again and it's the most authentic synth part of Shine on i've heard. Is there any way you could record everything BUT the guitar parts for me? It's just the left hand section I need. I'd be happy to discuss arrangements with you if the answer is yes. Thanks.

  • Dear Darryld1, I'd be very glad to record the synth part and send it to you. Unfortunately the laptop I have installed cooledit on is not im my hands in these days, so I hope you'll be so patient to wait till the next week. Thank you, have a nice day!

  • Hi, me again. Hope you are well. Are you still interested in recording the synth part for me?

  • Sorry mate, my job is making me travelling so much, I spent most of the last weeks abroad and I have to leave again in two days! I'll do my best to send you the file....

  • very good. I can play the entire guitar part and I'd love to be able to play it over the pad the way you played it. Can you tell me more about it? Is it a standard synth on the Kurzweil?

  • Do the Pad come from the synth?

  • Yes all the sounds you hear are resident.

  • Sweet, the guitar note bending is superb. Kurzweil kix ass. :)

  • Amazing! Guitar emulation is so great!!!

  • uy great!!!

  • Very, very, very (repeat...) GOOD!

    And superb sounds from Kurweil!

  • Very Nice work. 5 stars

  • 10!Super!

  • R.I.P Richard Wright..we all miss you:(

  • Great video. Great guitar emulation on that thing, and that's coming from a guitarist

  • Great!

  • this sounds soo coool. good video

  • Spot on man, awesome job! Could you give me some idea of the patches you're using here and how they're constructed? I'd love to try and program something similar on my shiny new PC3X (Kurzweil's rock!). Anyway I'm sure you get requests like that all the time...any advice you can give would be much appreciated tho! =) Thanks bro

  • Great job. The video made me put on the CD to hear the rest of the song. Love the string bends.

  • great job !!! the Kurzweil sounds great

  • you definitely rock ou the K2600X

  • HI MAN

could you give your msn to talk about some

    k2600 functions???

    thanks

  • I have played this kurzweil k2600. Its the best piano I have played, the sound is fantastic and although it has less functions than the motif or Phantom since the kurzweil is specialized in sound not in workstation mixing function, it is still better than any other. Jordan Rudess´piano used to be the Kurzweil k2600.

  • bravissimo ok friend

  • wow that was cool! i thought it would just be the synth parts. i didnt expect u 2 break out the guitar solo. nice!

  • Fantastic, inspirational stuff.

    Cheers!

  • I want the setting of that keyboard o_O just to play the song XQ____

  • Awesome!

Let me play the guitar solo:

I have the right Gilmour stuff :-)

  • You are such a tease! I so wanted you to keep going. Simply Awesome! :)

  • oh god.........

  • these are about $9000 right? can you put your finger anywhere on that line to use the pitch bender?

  • Fab baby!!! I would love the patch for my K2600.... can I have it please? I am new to K2600 so am struggling to program it at the moment. they are so powerful and versatile!

    Sounds great on your video!

  • superbly impressive indeed.

  • Please, tell me, how can you do that? I mean, the thing that the pad sound is not affected by the effects like sustain or the bar or the modulator.

  • my fav. pink floyd song!

  • You should so play the rest (All) of the song! for us and for Richard.

    God bless him...

  • Impressionante...Amazing

  • You did it great !!! Congratulations !!!

    RIP Rick Wright !

  • It would be cool if YouTube featured this video and others in honor of Rick Wright.

  • R.I.P. Rick Wright off to his Great Gig in the Sky

  • totally floored omg speechless

  • could you send me a copy of your perform or program for my k2600xs

  • the greatest pink floyd cover!!i want your keyboard!

  • you have me floored. WOW.

The dark side of the moon con tutta l'effettistica compreso speak to me..on the run...gli organi di the wall...

  • this is a k 2600 ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ excellent keyboard¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Aaahhhh!!!! man oh man ,did that EVER give me the chills EXCELLENT JOB!!!100000000000 stars!

  • This is the same keyboard used by Rick Wright on stage, hence why the strings sound identical. There is a bit more added to the synth opening lead patch though, maybe he's running some effects through it? I want to get this keyboard to try it myself now :)

  • my advance for you is this: buy a Kurzweil PC3X...in better and newer too ;)

  • Newer and better is good, but does it have the same patches/sounds like this? I basically want to be able to replicate those sounds exactly. Can the PC3X do that?

  • u need to revise ur timing but besides that very good job researching into it

    Steve

  • greate keyboard!!!!!!!!

  • good player, amazing keyboard!!!

  • this is wicked!

  • incredible! i have just heard Pink Floyd!

  • amazing. Gives me something to aim for... someday.

  • Wow you're good with this keyboard!

  • AWESOOOOME! That guy is amazing!! We´re he start use the bend for the Gilmore part. I thought it was pure playback. Then you can hear the plastic gtr on his keybord.

  • NICE ONE! i tripped as hell =p

am gonna buy on of those k2600x

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • Great progamming. Sounds awesome :)

  • nice sound

  • hey there - love the sounds on that keyboard - great playing

  • it's amazing! I wanted to see (or listen to) the rest, do u have it?

  • Hi,

how do you make this tiny sound at O:17?? what type of sound do you use and what are the delay parameters?

  • sine wave, pitch modulated by square wave controlled by pitch envelope(or long portamento). there's no delay at needed - in fact it will sound wrong w/ a digital delay unless you pan wet/dry to hard L/R. the repeats will phase-cancel some of the original notes unless seperated.

...or just find a sample of it already and use that.

    -----

    Nice recreation, btw.

BUT watch that your guitar bends are not too flat.

get all the way up to that whole step !

  • Amazing. If you would use the bend option on about any of the guitar riffs it would sound much more authentic ;)

  • WTF?? it's almost like your version of dream theater's Octavarium 1:40-the rest of the song

    But very nice playing!

  • great performence...this k2600 is just the best

  • thats a nice guitar sample, looks like a great keyboard. well done

  • hey jabel77,.. do you use additional sound board or just using existing patch, can u share with me the setup? I am using k2600x also and a floyd fans too.

  • Hi! This is Leo once more.Could you please help me with this setup?

  • Never heard of this keyboard (I live in the dark ages), but am impressed, are the voices original (as in the keyboard) or did you sample them? I would love to hear the remainder of the song. Pink Floyd are very special, not just the music, but the particular sound that creates the atmosphere, thanks for posting :-)

  • Hello,

No samples have been used, only resident soundoard. After all, Rick Wright as wella s Jon Carin do perform on these beautiful machines....Bandpass Filter is the solution!

  • What a song, one of the best from Floyd and it sounds amazing on your Kurzweil K2600X Id be so happy If you could play the whole song it would be amazin!
