Very nicely done. The lyrics are much closer in meaning to the original Portuguese, and not at all schmaltzy like the version Sinatra sang. I like the way they sing to the listener instead of being all about the singer. Nice voice and chord arrangements as well. Brava!

Very nice singing. The overall cover would definitely be improved by adding a few variations in the guitar parts, rythmic pattern and/or arpeggios ...

I often wondered if "Meditation" could have a more "spiritual", less "silly love song" english version - and let's face it; some of the originals are a bit soppy, great as they sound in portuguese! Thanks so much for sending some enlightened compassion out to others. At the risk of being a clever-clogs, I'd just like to point out: the initial chord you play (and in most versions) is a lovely G6, not GM7. May you be happy!

I came across your rendition as I was searching for the Portuguese and English lyrics to the song. I really like João Gilberto's version on the classic 1964 live album w/ Stan Getz.

I see other translations, but yours rings most true to the spirit I hear in Gilberto.

I've heard than translations of many Brazilian songs often substitute pat sentimentality for what the original version actually conveys.

I like the 'story' of these lyrics so much more than that of the original English lyrics, and you tell it very well! The 'official' English lyrics are good in their own right (unlike some), but it's wonderful both to now know the original meaning, and to have these beautiful new words to sing! And WOW!!!!! that little bass line after '...heart's prepared' KICKS MY ASS!!!!
