  • Class of 2010 . :) music is timeless

  • You can understand them @maceryan64; they sing in English and not in Sambo-speak.

  • Saturday in the park, yup, that's what we used to do during the Vietnam War Era. Cruising

the city park. We weren't old enough to drink beer but we did anyway! Class of 1969.

  • #338

  • I have always loved this song.

  • The bassist fucked up the first verse.

  • the bassist is ripping in this song, love this band!

  • 4 steady down amd it still swings? Only Robert Lamm can write this song!

  • I remember the day the song hit the stores. Every thing was different then, everything!!

  • Dear youth of today: That's a real-life horn-section.

  • Hard to justify this multi-talented group with just a 10...

  • D.Y.R. Perfect song for a nice Saturday!!

  • Okay, this is legit, as long as you have Lamm doing it, but if it comes to a point where you have not ONE original lead vocalist....guys it'll be TIME TO STOP.

  • 1,000,000!!!! :D

  • 4 quarter notes down- it still swings? Bobby i hate you. i really like the vocals and that quick change at the end. One con i dont like saying i am glad that Howland is back in there. Bailey never did it for me imho. Robert Lamm is a genious. Thanks tom for posting. i love this song!

  • One of my fave songs from one of my fave bands! thanks for uploading this!

  • The '72 version is infinitely better, sharper vocal sound, devil may care semi chaos vibe/attitude, a tooth missing, not coifed hair - fantastic shit! Get it? in other words a little danger or the possibility of everything falling apart takes's it to another realm, people.

  • @socrates1818 ok, I'm gonna say this w/as much respect as I can , FUCK YOU, yes you're right the '72 version is probably better but, Chicago live, 'nuff said ?

  • @sirwob Are you one of those pussies that likes 80s Chicago? "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" "You're the Inspiration" & shit like that? Live At Carnegie Hall 1972, Live in Japan 1972, 'nuff said. Fuck all you 1980s wuses, all you people are responsible for ruining this great American working-class progressive jazz-rock band along with that schizophrenic traitorous butthole Cetera.

  • @metamorphosis67 I was a Chicago fan when they were still Chicago Transit Authority, saying the '72 version was better makes me an 80's wus? well thank you for your insights Richard Cranium

  • @sirwob My unreserved respect to you Sir! I have joined the club only in 1976, when I was 13 years old kid in USSR. I cannot agree with you more! After 1972 it was all downhill...

  • @vichniakov good to hear, good music knows no borders

  • @metamorphosis67 Although I think you're being a bit harsh, I sympathise with your view. They did become a pale shadow of earlier glory, yet they then later gave us tunes to bed babes with. For myself, yes, 70s Chicago, but I'll not slate those that dig the 80s incarnation. Getting mellow in my old age.

  • Being from chicago I LOVED this group. Remeber playing their music with the top down and there was nothing I couldn't do!

  • These guys ROCK !!

  • Earth, Wind & Fire would later use this song for their 1980 hit "Back on the Road." A year later, Carl Carlton also used it for "She's a Bad Mama Jama."

  • @maceryan64 because not everyone has the same taste in music, and if they did. We wouldn't have any other music to make fun of.

  • multiply 25 times 2.5 million people who voted in the last election.. there is your answer.

  • They were the shit..Everyone has sadness...

  • My birthday will be next tuesday, turning 33. Chicago one of the best bands i've seen.

  • love the horns section ^_^ wondering james pankow suppost to wearing sando again lol

  • Dig it.

  • people, must U hate one another? U don't even know each other, & U spread ill will that only perpetuates the ignorance around the world. are U so unhappy that to make other's feel bad makes U feel good? i continue to pray for peace among the nations & people around the world that they will see we all come from the same source, whether U like it, believe it, or understand it... peace & love & kindess toward others is the only thing that will improve your lives... forgive as He has forgiven U..

  • @ilovejesus55555 You are so right.

  • vv

  • lololol

  • Wow, these guys have aged well. It's still good music even now. Heck, even bettter then what the majority of folks consider "music" today.

  • i think it was the fourth of july

  • Music does not have to be complex to convie a good mood. This song does the job...Great performance Chicago!

  • I loved them :)

  • Im 29 and I love all kinds of music. I guess im kind of a metal head tho if u were to label me. I grew up with Chicago and my dad singin it bright and early in the mornings to wake everyone up. The things we take for granted. id give anything to hear my dad singing. Its been 5 months since hes been gone and far too young, Love u dad. Thank you for showing me what good music is all about. RIP.

  • umm im black and i have to disagree this is a good song

  • Stuck in my head all day buts its a good thing :3

  • You always make me dance to great memories of your music.

  • @karlkarlkarl1234 no way

  • i like this song what a cool song to enjoy the weekend.

  • UNA DE LAS MEJORES CANCIONES DE CHICAGO

  • Bravo! .... Thanks for posting!

  • listening to this song on a sunny Saturday in beautiful south pacific Mexico driving thru the mountains........Escape to Paradise..................God is Great!!

  • Learned how to play the piano better because of this song. Fantastic band in fantastic era! Thanks Chicago!

  • Thats a lot of wet pussy in that audience.I'm sure the Viagra was flying that night

  • @littlefuzzer wtf is a comment like that necessary.. this band is pure class

  • The origial band was much better.

  • I was in a park on Saturday & it was the 4th of July in 2004!!! I heard this song on the radio later in the day too!!!

  • my favorite song!

  • I went and saw them last Saturday in Vegas. They kicked ass!!!!

  • gh9448 - Really? Hmmm. You don't know your music history and you certainly don't know Chicago. Peter Cetera has been with them almost from the beginning. Jason Scheff-who? Try Wikipedia or something.

  • This is REAL music

  • this is one of those songs, that will last the test of time, simply put a great tone.

  • HOW ON EARTH COULD 25 PEOPLE BE SO UTTERLY MENTAL?!?!?!? IT'S INCREDIBLY SAD AND DISGRACEFUL

  • @maceryan64

    Easy Answer they are Black.....

  • @ShananagansOnYou Sorry, but you are wrong and a jerk. I'm black, I love this song, and I have been a big fan of Chicago for probably longer than you've even been alive. So, you'd best take your racist crap elsewhere.

  • @mdmann

Im sorry to say Maryland Man I didnt mean to talk down to you like my our slave

but I dont care what you say

  • @ShananagansOnYou Hmmm...apparently, you also can't write a coherent sentence. That pretty much goes hand in hand with racism. Thanks for giving us some insight into what you are!

  • @mdmann

I asked you to give me a call.....

since you are a scared nigger I'll let it slide

  • @ShananagansOnYou Don't let it slide. I'm just not going to cold call some poor unsuspecting soul based on some number posted by a RACIST IDIOT on YouTube. So, I'll tell you what...if you leave your name in addition to the number (I believe it was in the Bronx, right?) , and some proof that both the name and number are associated with the RACIST MORON "ShananagansOnYou" that is spamming this board, then I can verify that I am actually calling said MORON. I'll be more than happy to call.

  • @mdmann

I wouldn't go around telling people your a nigger ohh i mean black, you may get hurt

  • @ShananagansOnYou As I said, racists can't form coherent sentences. Thank you for proving my point again. And thanks, again, for the insight into your racism. It really is much appreciated. Sunlight is an excellent disinfectant, and I think it is hilarious how racists constantly out themselves and expose the level of infection they are by not being able to control themselves. I shouldn't be surprised, though, because racists aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the pack. LOL!

  • @maceryan64 - They are most likely too busy watching videos of Lil Wayne bitch slapping big breasts with his braids.

  • @maceryan64 You're sick!

  • @maceryan64 Maybe they miss the very talented Peter Cetera...?

  • must be talking about the votes?

  • the definition of real, quality music right here.

  • EXCELLENT!

  • Love it!

  • I don't know when this was recorded, but Robert Lamm looks and sounds GREAT!

  • forgive me for not knowing the bass players name, but he's a breath of fresh air compared to the arrogance of Cetera. And man, can this new guy ever play the bass!

  • @Harpo930 Jason Scheff

  • @Harpo930 New Guy?Jason Scheff has been with them since about 1984-hardly a new guy and his tenure in the band eclipses that of Peter Cetera.

  • This is REAL band music and THE BEST of the best!! Not like the modern terrible garbage band music from Arcade Fire.

  • Portugal presente! CHICAGO! AMO e relembro este grupo da minha juventude, com grande nostalgia, saudade e respeito. :)

Portugal gift! CHICAGO! LOVE this group and reminisce of my youth with great nostalgia, longing and respect. :)

  • Chicago, still "Throwing it down"!

  • Hope that peter cetera rejoined his band when where he started for his career:;))

  • i wanna learn the piano to this

  • CHICAGO/Saturday In The Park

    土曜日のテンション上げるには、この曲。

  • "Oh my god, Chicago kicks ass!"

  • Countdown Number One; "Saturday in the Park" by Chicago:

  • I guess those 22 people must be Michael Jackson or Rap lovers...

  • 22 people suck ass

Like my comment the message must be spread

  • I do not quite agree with rjst09. I also heard the same song from 1972 (I was 21 then, now I'm 65) and I think their sound is a lot stronger now than then. Has also a lot to do with all the sound techniques of course. But indeed Peter Cetera is sorely missed!

  • @missatrebor I saw them in 99 in Traverse City and 2001 in Biloxi and I have to say their sound now is greatly developed since the 70s. They have played so long there master musicians now. They added so many fills to these old classics and its a tremendous accomplishment to have improved on already strong arrangements. Cetera was great but their fine without his ego, Terry is dearly missed.

  • Just not the same without Cetera, Kath and Seraphine. They were the heart and soul of Chicago. They are now a tribute lounge act.

  • ahhhh...memories!!

  • One of the best Chicago Songs EVER

  • Horns, horns, horns!!!

  • great song....I sing it around the house all the time...

  • DIO c'e' !! I CHICAGO ci sono !!! DIVINI :-D

  • I would love to sing for this band. I love Chicago.

  • Just James Pankow again and and again. He is Chicago.

  • Todo mundo gosta!!!!Legaaallll!!!!!!

  • Rob Lamm is still sexy as hell

  • Just love it when the brass kicks in

  • Great jazz rock. Give Chase a look, too. This song has elements of their anti Vietnam War music from their first album.

  • remarkable: Jason actually doesn't embarrass himself...

  • @scribbled309 But he's still a weak singer. Lol.

  • good stuff

  • It's So Cooool !! I love this song.

  • if you like the ladies, then by default you like peter cetera

  • Wonderful version.

  • great!

  • no Terry Kath and no Peter Cetera=no Chicago

  • Who are these singers ? It's sounds like (UGH) Amerian Idol...

  • they are really great!!

  • Okay, I thank my parents for making me like awesome oldie bands :)

  • More than any other, this song takes me back to my childhood and listening to music with my friends. My wedding day was one problem after another, including a wrong-sized tux. I was just about to lose, got in my car and this came on as I was headed to the church. I knew then that everything would be just fine. The wedding was perfect, and we recently celebrated our 21st anniversary. This song will alwasy have a special place in my soul. Thanks for sahing!

  • Great song! Remember hearing this as a kid.

  • Nice...saw them in concert in the early 80's. Awesome concert...waited behind the building for them to leave....and my sis actually got an autograph. Not too many, know to figure out where they leave. Probably a lot different now.

  • nnniiicceee

  • Why did they skip Rita's smiling?

  • These guys are the best!! Just saw them in concert Wednesday night at an outdoor venue on a perfect summer night...all the great memories of the 70's came rushing back...they sound as good as ever.

  • I love Chicago, and this song brings back so many happy memories!

  • Im sorry, this band was never the same after Terry.

  • 4th anniv. on this next week, TOM, Congratulations!

I've plugged this great live performance into my 1973 playlist, one of 500 playlists that will take you on a musical ride around the world and as far back through time as 1900. 111 lists will play you any year since 1900. I'm hoping younger generations will play a year, hear the artists & learn how good this music is!

  • this rocks ..

  • after peter left the band their style of music completely changed, but this video proves that thyre still good without him

  • What year was this?

  • Why is it that Chicago band members always looked so damn happy.... what a great group!
