  • now i get it

  • REMEMBER ME....NOT WILLING TO COMPROMISE MY MORALS.....HE ONCE WAS A TRUE LOVE OF MINE....TELL HIM TO STOP PLAYING WITH MY HART...

    STACEY GOLDBERG HALE

  • @JamesTKirkCobain I still think metal is just noise

  • Is it possible to listen to this without crying? haha

  • @922099 so true.

  • they added a bit of a tie in with this song in bayonetta. great song. soft and relaxing. asked if any of my co workers were going to scarborough fair and they didnt understand. poor fools.....

  • Tears in my eyes. My 10 year old son plays the cello and his music teacher chose this song for the spring concert! I am so happy, what a memory

  • Ke$HA made 16 accounts and disliked this on each of them

  • Borrowed from English folk singer Martin Carthy. Beautiful version and all that but Carthy deserves some of the credit for unearthing this gem of a song. Thumbs up to make sure credit is given to all concerned ;-).

  • Its not a scottish song its an English song, clue is in the title ffs.

  • You're just mad at juntin Bieber, listening agent here is a classic and you speak in Bieber, sick

  • musica linda ......

  • incorrupta gives this his seal of approval, seeif you can find anymore

  • incorrupta gives this his seal of approval

  • Simply the best song ever written.

  • This song made my nipples hard, and I'm a straight guy...

  • its not celtic..its an old british ballad actually, and it is from the late 1600's, not the 1400's..

  • @lumpyplop

Actually, it probably is Celtic in origin. The song is allegedly adapted from an old Scottish tune "The Elfin Knight" depicting impossible love.

  • Alot of people thought they wrote the music. Its an old Celtic song from the 1400s. S&G just made it modern.

  • Dose anyone know if they ever sing this song with there own modification in live concert? You know, the one where Paul Simon sings some different words as counter melody instead of the same words as harmony like they do in the recorded version.

  • Never say "best song ever" or "the best singer" because you might incite other people who love other songs and singers more... there is not the best, one of the best is a better expression in my humble opinion...

  • Absolwent,

tak mi się smutno robi jak to słucham nie wiem czemu. Wgl taka meg nastrojowa muzka <3.

  • There are great songs and then there is Scarborough Fair by Simon & Garfunkel. There is no other,Simply Said,THE BEST SONG EVER.Perfect in every way.Paul Simon's Acoustic Guitar combined with Art Garfunkel's perfect voice make this song stand the test of time.Simply the GREATEST SONG.

  • and the goosepimples appear

  • i love this.

  • this song makes me want to go out and find the cure to cancer,,

  • I wish Neil Young had covered this song.

  • @420Guitar420

i like Neil Young but he does not have a voice like Art. Well, no one does. Art is a one of a kind

  • epic song.

    epic version.

  • When this song was recorded they didn't have a lot of incredible electronics that can 'fix' your voice on the fly and that could even make me sound good singing. Surely a miracle. That said I don't hear any flaws in this song which is live of course. Would I could have been there to witness it. A truly enchanted time for music and I still think this is one of the most awesome male duo teams ever and wrote school reports on them as a kid. Simon is one amazing writer.

  • He seems a bit flat.

  • @levisandlipstick

Good. This is before autotune made everyone sound perfect.

  • Don't write off music. There is still a lot of good artists out there. It is popular music that is rubbish. Support the musical revolution.

  • what the fuck?

  • @MrSupersix66 That's right, your mind has just been blown.

  • So beautiful!

  • I wish there was this kind of music being made today. This is real music. Theres not rele any real music being made today..

  • @meganmckenzie11. Today music has no soul! The lines are repetitive and poor meanings.

  • They dont make music like this any more what a shame

  • What a classic!

  • No WiFi

I use to go to Scarborough fair

    But time moves on

And we found no excitement there

They lost their sparkle they lost their flair

And they have no WiFi there

    M. S. Morrison

  • i love it too...they re both great legends...

  • love it

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaa q fomeeee

  • Pure soul

  • i hope my kids will grow up appreciating this talent. and hoprfully carry it on. ..

  • I'm a Chilean and this music is fantastic, i ear from when a boy and i'm declare a fans of the beatifull music of Paul and Art ... sorry my english thanks!!.

  • Very beautiful

    soud so sad

  • Timeless...

  • their is good music out their just got go out find it stop disrespecting music of today nowt wrong with it just cause u all don't like it doesn't mean eeveryone else does ,love lady gaga she great singer /songwritter .plus madonna writes own music ,

  • what! i didn't know this was their song. this was my favorite song to play in guitar class and in orchestra!! I am so exited now.

  • @Sammie2100 Actually it's an English traditional so it's not really their song. But I love their version really much anyways so does it matter :)?

  • incredible song, love this version.

  • This song has no use by date- every listen is a magical experience. I am so grateful to these guys for their gift to our lives. Thank you for posting.

  • M-A-G-N-I-F-I-C-E-N-T

    What a wonderfull mythic melody...OMG

  • People say "Oh music was so much better then and they didnt base everything on looks" blah blah blah....But you people don't realize that if this was released today, if Simon and Garfunkel were 20 years old and promoted relentlessly it would NEVER NEVER SELL for the simple fact that kids haven't been raised on this kind of music. You think the music industry is THAT stupid? Compare it to people raised in 1800s and you play them heavy metal, all they would hear would be noise Music is association

  • @JamesTKirkCobain i would buy it :P

  • @JamesTKirkCobain

I disagree sir. I ve been into rock and metal all my life. Since childhood I have had a special affection for rock music. But this song and sound of silence are just amazing. I think these songs trescend the boundaries of genre and era

  • @JamesTKirkCobain thou art thy idiot. Take the beatles for example the 60s BEATLES! they still have albums being sold IN THIS DAY AND AGE they had looks I agree but they weren't flashy and that crap they had natural look AND great music compare THAT to today's piece o shit music industry

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Well then there's no hope for the kids of today, because great talent will be desired always. Look at sports for instance, you cant get into the NBA on looks. You're either a great player possessing great skills or you're sitting at home watching the game. There's no record producers, studio musicians, engineers and choreographers to dupe the public into believing there's something great about you when there isn't. What's your fav Britney Spears or Jess sims song? Get it!

  • normalnie ciary przechodzą...

  • This is the best song ever..... And they are the best singers :) You can also check my version on my channel for a different approach !

  • @TheCrazyBishop I grew up going to sleep as a baby to these guys.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • A great version of an ancient English Ballad. Hayley Westenra also does a great version.

  • Simpy brilliant. My best song of all time.

  • I fell in love with this song from seeing Simon & Garfunkel perform it on SNL...still my favorite version.

  • So fucking beautiful

  • This is still by far tha best version of the song.

  • Best dual vocal harmony ever. No questions asked. NO ONE can dispute the magic of this song. Simon + Garfunkel = best duo ever!!

  • Amazing

  • IMPOSSIBLE!

  • Very nice!!!

  • nat00ben06

Well said my friend. True talent has taken a back seat to cosmetic appeal. Sad

    Jim-in-Kansas

  • 9 poeple do not deserve me wasting my time with this comment

  • you may or may not know this but they did not make this song however it is one of my favourite covers, the song originates from ireland and was originaly a celtic folk song

  • i could sleep to this ...great

  • geezohman they sound good here.

  • Ding

  • Scarborough Fair(迷幻市集)

    Lyrics:Simon/Paul Music:Simon/Paul Arranger:Ricky Ho

  • @tanyatang1 DOH. Its not a song from our time. Its probably older than ur house buddy.

  • @Fletinio1 i like it.bye,

  • This reminds me of my beautiful childhood.

My parents used to let me listen to this song everyday, from the first day I was born 'til I grew up and became a boy.

    So touching.

  • i love this song

  • Awesome! :)

  • I WAN'T TO BE A HIPPY CAN'T BELIVE WAS BORN IN1960 BUT MY PARENTS WERE SQUARE.

  • @Thesuziebear if you had a hippy heart, your parents could not have stopped you!

  • WOW!

  • 8 people have no idea of really great music.

  • super jestem za

  • 1 of the best songs ever written!

  • The Greek version is great: Sung by the GREAT Vicky Leandros.

It is entitled: "Remember to love me"

    Hear ir here: /watch?v=2-TZt1wWE6E

  • I have to be honest....I love Paul, and I love Art. Was it Paul that was once quoted saying he didnt make the highest caliber of music in this team? I would have to say this DUO was the best, when it came to American music from this era?

  • wonderful music wonderful people and wonderful singing. These people have realness and authenticity you don't find in the music nowadays.

  • So many memories is brought back when I listen to this song. This Live version from '69, reminds me of one particular summer. I listened to it all the time that year, and I still remember the ocean, the shining sun, my friends and I having fun during a time of happiness and melancholy. I remember sitting on a boat, looking ahead at all the possibilities that this summer and the rest of my life had to offer. I remember feeling alive. God bless Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel!

  • @Olimogtaba You paint a great picture. From my side of the "Pond", this song reminds me of times when my dad took us out in our little car to the countriside on a Sunday, and we'd stop off at a Pub but I'd have to sit outside because I was too young to drink inside, and I'd get a glass of Coke and a packet of crisps. Then I remember my first girlfriend, and I took her to the cinema to see The Graduate, and this song was a major part of that film. Happy days, eh?

  • @veda1954 crisps...with a little blue salt bag?☺I remember my older brother getting The Graduate LP with its raunchy cover and me playing it on our HUGE mono gramaphone/radiogram covertly at night, thinking what strange pispronounciation Americans made of 'Scarborough'/Scarbo-ro☺(the LP was curiously fullof foxtrot music tracks!?!)

  • this always makes me cry too

  • This make me cry :'( its so beautiful.

  • I'll stick with Queensryche versions. Cool Harmonies on this one...but it's too meager.

  • 7 people didn't got to scarborough fair.

  • this is a medieval song?

  • @NvidiATI I am note sure about the lyrics but the tune sure is. The song talks about a fair in southern England where many fairs and festivals were held. I think there are rumors that Henry the VIII wrote the lyrics for one of the versions of this song.

  • @NvidiATI it was made in the 17th century i think the lyrics may be too

  • another fantastic song, by an excellant duo. these two men were one of a kind group. very rare for a group to have one guitarist, and two vocalist, loved it,

  • Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanx Mom for Everything you taught me and everything You DO! love Mario

  • awesome song

  • Check out Mike Massé's version of this song. Outstanding!

  • See this was great cause it was before our damn obsession with the fact that all our performs had to look perfect (like now) with no regard for talent. S and G were just average looking guys with an amazing talent for creating music. Thank God they were before Mtv, Idol and Sony otherwise we would never have them and just have the garbage we're stuck with now. From Madonna to GaGa the music industry is a sick, sick corporate entity that is trying to kill our culture,

  • @nat00ben06 Autotune.

  • @nat00ben06 Guys & Gals this is pure pure music and simply the very best!!!

  • @nat00ben06

    Copy that!

  • @nat00ben06 My bf and I were watching One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest a while ago and talked about how the actors looked like real mental patients. If that movie was done now, Ben Affleck would play Jack Nicholson's charactor, Keanu Reeves would probably be the Indian, and so on! (But, women have come a long way in that regard. Notice Nurse Ratched and her minion were both attractive. Even the old night nurse was Hollywood thin.)

  • @nat00ben06

    Thank You. Oncore

  • @nat00ben06 pff whatever, youre right commercial music is just models that dont know what 3/4 means, but good music sells itself no matter what

  • @nat00ben06 There's nothing wrong with Madonna. GaGa sucks, but don't knock Madonna. She has her place in musical history.

  • @kvndrd true dat :)

  • @nat00ben06 B.S. Always the same complaints, but the truth is it makes no difference.

  • You got it in a nutshell~ "Video Killed the Radio Star"

  • @nat00ben06 yeah, time was that with musical performances .. the most important was the musical performance! now it seems to be who can dance the best who has the best costume and who has made the most generic crap song imaginable.

  • was this ever in a movie? it sounds familiar

  • @candiigirl234 "The

    Graduate"!

  • @candiigirl234 ------Maybe it was in ' The Graduate' but I can't be sure.

  • the clapping in the beginning kinda ruins it... its annoying -.-

  • He says Scarborough wrong. What a twat.

  • @gecko2gecko2 You must be British.

  • i came to canada in 1969 from england.may 31 st,now on to austrlia .i have lived from east to west of canada,,i really liked it ..but moved on,,this song reminds me of me..remember me when..all the people i have met are so many .its been great.

  • Great Lyrics

  • Great!!!

  • their music teases the magic in our hearts . . .

  • if you close your eyes and let your mind really listen to this song you will cry, it's a certainty.

"Without no seam nor neddle work"

  • it wudnt beat the boxer hands dwn gd song thoe love all there tunes

  • This is so peaceful....

  • True brilliance resides when 2 voices and a guitar can have more impact than a 40 piece orchestra.

  • timeless and tireless voice

  • damn..badass.

  • This is pure complacency. I resent having loved that without understanding in my youth. Best are French singers. Clear, strong. Not like those little girls.

  • I love this song. My parents used to play it when they wanted me to go to sleep. It's so nice and soothing. I feel like taking a nap now. Yay Pavlov!

  • song of true love

  • u know i was born about 20 years after this song came out but i tell u what this song is a great song no matter or when u were born u gotta listen and hear what it says

  • this r8 reminds me of my dad the best dad ever

  • This song gets into your plan and you always with a sensation as gentle internal brings you closer to eternity.

  • I love this song and when a woman shows me her breasts, and green chutney as well.

  • North Yorkshire is indeed the chosen land. There shall he be.

  • SO BEAUTIFUL

  • Beautiful harmony. Its what todays music lacks big time.

  • this is AWESOME to play on my sax!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Moarphine I this Moarphine needs to stop taking morphine and listening to rap. You wouldn't know a good song and beautiful voices if it fell on you

  • @Moarphine quit being so fucking close minded get a wider selection of music S&G are dope as fuck. and "dey r dum hippos" you couldnt write music 0.5% as good as these "dum hippies" and they did it while stoned open your mind and close your mouth

  • @Moarphine quit being so fucking close minded get a wider selection of music S&G are dope as fuck. open your mind and close your mouth!

  • @Moarphine haha... now everybody this here is a good example of society as it is today.

    1. terrible job at spelling.

    2. black people jargon (I'm not being rascist!)

    3. and no respect for MUSIC.

How do you live life with no music? Oh you tell me you do listen to music like 50 cent and Eminem......hahaha, well it's not music. This is a perfect example of music. Along with mozart and beethoven and bach. WHAT! YOU DON"T KNOW WHO BEETHOVEN AND MOZART AND BACH ARE?????????

  • @Moarphine wise up you troll if you can't respect a peaceful song/video then just get off youtube

  • Love this 1.

  • Child Ballad #2 a version of a tune and tale called, 'The Elfin King'....Parsley, Sage, Rosemany and Thyme is a love potion. It is the story of a woman who doesn't want to marry this man because he is an elf, so she gives him impossible tasks....For more verses of this tune check out, Scarborough Faire at:

  • @MoorOfDundee, thank you for sharing that with us. I remember back in college learning in Art History about it being an old troubadour song or something. That was a long time ago. Sounds like a good love potion and equally delicious on root veggies. I will be checking out the verses. Again, thank you. Lovely song in any era.

  • outstanding.

  • @roylandyard EPIC!

  • medieval-celtic atmosphère ,envoutant et sublime !

  • Chill me to black bone

  • beautiful... @kEaNeLoVeR24, or daydream about a world that doesn't exist, and never will.

  • A classic. Beautiful song

  • Wonderful harmony and guitarpart. Superb!

  • Coooooooooooooool

  • i saw this as a demo playing on my piano, and i thought this song was great! so i googled it and found it here

  • Amazing that a duet can be sung live with exactly 1/3rd octave harmony throughout the song; including the guitar acting as a counter-point vocal.

    Truly : incredible

  • @MrChristopher1964 - that's a fascinating comment. Can you say more about 1/3 octave harmony and using the guitar as a counterpoint vocal? You're expressing some musical concepts I'd like to understand.

    Thanks!

  • Growing up in Korea, I didn't understand the lyric of their songs, but I spent countless hours listening to their songs. They are truly special artists to me...my sincere thanks to Paul and Art.

  • i love this song

it is as beautiful as a nice warm day with the cold breeze embracing you, making your heart warm.

the sweetness of both voices makes me shiver and a million memories pass trough my mine.

and i find my true love eyes fighting the rain, exactly where i left him. as far from my heart as he decided to be.

    but the song is precious.

it makes you close your eyes and day dream about the past and the future and the years to come.
