  • Toney would own tyson....Any man with footwork and a decent jab will own that bully..JUST ASK BUSTER!!!!!!!!!!

  • @djk28161 until he slips your jab and your ass is out cold on the canvas

  • Ha i have the guys first name and the others last :D

  • Nothing good has ever happened in Davenport Iowa, Nunn should have known better..

  • Nunn never had a chin to began with..lol

  • what an idiot. he easily won this fight. became a bum after this.

  • @IdiotsForObamaCom how did he become a bum exactly?

  • not taking anything away from roy jones. but toney was a mess during there fight from having to make the 168 limit he was absoulutley dead

  • toney vs hagler lmaooooooooo toney was great in his day but please dont even say hede go 12 rnds with hagler and nunn never really fought no 1 anyway o d like 2 see jones get o hold of this overated asshole nin roy jones ko 5 rnd roy

  • @LukeTheDrifter07 haha whko the fudge said he would beat hagler, i hope they were joking, toney good slick fighter but hagler was something else

  • People forget that Toney was a big underdog in this fight, in Nunn's hometown of Davenport. Nunn was a cocky prick and Im glad he got KO'd.

  • Once Nunn got up the first time, he was sent to the ropes where Toney SMASHED him in the BACK of the head. Clearly the referee hasn't seen the rule that says this is an illegal punch, or he would have stopped the fight and docked Toney a point.

  • @seanofafrica Nunn would still have been knocked out eventually. That first left hand nearly killed him.

  • What ever people say about Toney. The one thing people cannot fault him with is his bravery this guy wont duck nobody. He was also a Genius with defence and counter punching.

  • @slamster he ducked gomez at cruiserweight his was mandatory and said he didnt want the fight

  • Now that's was when the sport was beautiful. Michael Nunn was a fabulous boxer, great champion, and warrior as is evidence by the manner in which he refused to end the fight on the canvas... beautiful, such determination. Toney showcases why he was at the time as formidable as he was, obviously committed to fitness, in his training, and a precision boxing game.

  • Toney may come across nowadays as a punch drunk dummy, but at 1:55 of the round that counter right he delivered wasn't just a shoulder roll to counter right, if you look closely, you really have to look close. the way toney veers back trying to make it look like to Nunn that he's hurt and is open for the left hand, and in a very short, direct but quite powerful answer he say's no with the counter right. Very few people really pay attention to the the little suttle things in boxing these days

  • @grndmst9

I had too look at it.You are right! Have you ever caught the way that Hopkins backs into the ropes from an offensive attack, then Springs him self off of the ropes to gain momentum for his combos? He does it often. He did it against Pascal in either the first or second fight.

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Hopkins uses every single advantage that the wisdom of a man at the age of 46 would tell him to use

  • @stoneD201 Absolutely...

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Good observation on Hopkins man. I'm a huge Bernard fan. And I think it was the 1st fight with Pascal, I remember he leaned back bounced off the ropes shoe-shined Pascal to the body then shot a nice right hook to the head. Hopkins has done that for years, it's very hard for his opponents to defend/react to that because of how quick he jumps in and out of range before delivering the combinations.

  • I just watched the dneproptrovsk murder video and had the urge to come watch this.

    Take that how you will.

  • @Robstailey after the few hits i couldnt watch any more

  • James tagged him all night with right hand leads.... strangely enough he did the damage with the left hook.

  • i was searching for James Toney getting knocked out! fuck haha

  • @zalien6 never been knocked out, one of the best chin's you'll ever see.

  • @HSVIRK WTF seriously? awwh man...

  • wow james toney have changed over the years.

  • Nunn was from my hometown...Quad Cities, maybe 400,000 people counting everyone...we had pride and this loss dissappointed us all...fast forward to Nunn's next career as a gun toting coke selling @-hole compared to Toney's respectable career and I'm glad Toney won....the dissappointment in the way he wasted his life after this loss far exceeds the feelings we had as a close knit community who's pride suffered a loss that night back in 91

  • Nunn was a jerk. Glad to see him go.

  • @949galaxy

how was he a jerk ?

  • lol 3:01 nigga be cryin! james was a god.

  • @ThePackman4

toney, in all his 84 fights(as opposed to hagler's 67), was never hurt either. he beat terrific, nonstop punchers who were often much bigger than he including charles williams, iran barkley, and vassily jirov.

more importantly, james had more skills. hagler simply could not counter or defend like james could. the only boxer i've seen use the shoulder as well as him is floyd mayweather, and even he can't counter like toney.

  • @Robstailey Prime Toney vs Prime Hager Hagler unanimous decision for sure

  • @MattyIceDog78 Impossible. Hagler was slow and punching wide enaugh for Toney to school him on old school boxing and shoulder roll techniques

  • @KravaLLT Obviously you have never seen a PRIME Hagler. Nunn was winning this fight on the scorecards before that left hook. No way Toney comes close to hurting Hagler either. Hagler would win a fairly decisive decision.

  • @MattyIceDog78

i dunno man. toney was faster and tougher to hit than marvin, by far. he was a better boxer outside and a better counterpuncher inside AND out.

  • @MattyIceDog78 Prime Toney vs. prime Hagler... Toney UD W12. Toney chops Hagler down like he did Prince Charles Williams. He couldn't have stopped Hagler because that chin was just legendary. But Hagler would've pressed the issue; as aggressive as Hagler was, not being the most technically sophisticated fighter in the world, and would've played directly into Toney's brilliant counterpunching. Hagler would have been sliced, cut, outboxed, and outfoxed. Toney would've won easily.

  • @daTruChosen haglers a very good boxer, people tend to judge him from his later fights with mugabi and srl, in his prime he was a slick moving switch hitter, over 15 rounds it would be a interesting fight, hard to call could toney take the pressure, dont think he would counter a prime hagler as easily u as u think, nunn had toney beat and nunn wasnt in shape he was gassed out by the 10th, hagler would be in machine like condition, no way toney drops hagler like he did nunn

  • @frisbyrb5 I agreed that Toney could NEVER drop Hagler, but Hagler's rendition of slickness doesn't even come close to Toney's. Pressure fighters were tailor made for Toney's style... especially when he was in his prime (Merqui Sosa, Iran Barkley, Prince Charles Williams, etc.). If Toney could carve up Mike McCallum; a fighter Hagler roundly avoided, the way he did in the first of their three fights, and despite that draw, what do you think he'd have done to a plodding, unsophisticated Hagler?

  • @frisbyrb5 Furthermore, against Nunn, who was a true 6'3"... Toney, who is barely 5'9", faced a nearly insurmountable tactical disadvantage that took, fully, the first seven rounds to overcome; to say nothing of the unenviable task of negotiating Nunn's hunt and peck, slick southpaw style that gave the 36 fighters preceeding Toney all kinds of fits.

  • @daTruChosen toneys is alot slicker than hagler, but haglers no mug, thing with toney he has moments where he turns off and his conditioning isnt as good as haglers he would look very good against hagler but could he keep up the pace over 15 with the relentless pressure and hagler switching stances, would toney get sucked into a brawl, imagine the prefight build up there would be some hate vented if they fought, toney is one of my favourite fighters his a joy to watch when he boxes

  • @frisbyrb5 good points all, but one of the things I've always found fascinationg about Toney is the way he almost had a split personality in and out of the ring. He'd talk a lot of shit during prefight hype and play to the media, but once he steps between the ropes, he's a surgeon; a scientist showing no emotion, at all. He never clinched, never bitched about low blows or fouls (though he won't touch gloves after receiving them, either). He just fought... too well to get drawn into a brawl.

  • @daTruChosen i recently started reading a book called dark trade, theres a chapter on james toney, where the writer got really close to him, theres some interesting insights into the circumstances that shaped toney. he was with toney pre fight when he fought tony thornton, he said on the way to the fight toney was just fixed in a daze oblivious to what was going on around him, totally focused like he was playing the fight out already in his mind, what would you think of sugar r r vs tony

  • @frisbyrb5 Prime for Prime? Sugar Ray Robinson wins... and easily. Mind you, we're now talking about the greatest pound for pound fighter of all time. And Toney's one single weakness was maybe Sugar Ray Robinson's greatest strength... movement. Robinson's footwork was balletic, fluid, and so fast. He fought with equal effectiveness moving in any direction. Toney is a brilliant fighter, but he is most effective against opponents coming to him. Robinson UD W12.

  • @daTruChosen You're right, Toney's weakness was guys who moved well. However, if they fought as is, I believe Toney would win. SRR fought in a completely different era. Toney did weight training, high altitude training, steroids, proteins, etc. If they grew up in the same era and fought though SRR would decimate him sadly.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros although your probably right you never know. Styles make fights

  • how to throw a proper left hook my friend!!!!

  • This fight was closer and toney was landing his great counter right on the defensively gifted Nunn. Toney was a special fighter and counter punched nunn not because nunn sloppy, it was because of Toney's skill. I hated Nunn and loved this fight. I jumped for joy when I found out nunn was koed. I still have the cutout from the news paper, Lakeland Ledger. Lakeland, FL.

  • fuck sake referee

  • So a "clean" Nunn would beat Hagler?? Maybe if it was an old Hagler I could see it happening, like Marciano against joe louis, But Nunn wouldn't stand a chance against Hagler in his prime, clean or not.. he couldn't even beat a young inexperienced james toney

  • The hell was the ref even there for? If you're not gonna do your job get out of the ring.

  • nun is now in prison serving 21yrs for drug dealing

  • @kingzula Ya don't say!!!

  • @renegado454 yes its true he in prison . also yer right toney is no way in hagler's class

  • Toney woulda beaten Hagler no probs for mine. Toney had much better defense than Hearns. Hagler wild punches would have been countered by Toney no probs. Toney wins a decision or KOs Marvin late in the fight.

  • @brendos444 Yeah, but you gotta remember McCallum gave him all he could handle in those 1st 2 fights, mainly because of the pressure he brought to James. So If Mike could give James that hard of a time, I think Hagler, who is a smaller guy, would still be able to give James just as hard of a time, if not harder, due to him being a bigger puncher than pretty much anyone James faced at middleweight.

  • @brendos444 Toney was too lazy even back then...You had to light a white hot fire under his ass just to get him to do anything...Look at his fights with Tim Littles, Prince Charles Williams and both fights with Montel Griffin...Hagler was relentless and averaged 64 punches per round...Plus he had a chin made granite and awesome stamina.....Hagler would've beaten Toney by decision or made his corner throw in the towel..

  • No way bro. Toney is relaxed not lazy. There's a diff. Look at the amount of work he got thru in the Jirov fight. in the nunn fight a lot of his work went unnoticed by the commentators. Toney will make hagler miss with his ducking a weaving and all his tricks inside. And he will counter him all night long. Hagler's not making him quit. The guy gets hit by genuine heavy weights and still hasn't been down. Toney is one of the craftiest fighter of the world has seen. + he has a rock chin

  • @brendos444 Nah he's way more than just relaxed...Being lazy has been a part or his career for a long time...That's why he's always had weight problems. He's lazy during training and irresponsible with his diet. You may want to watch a video highlight of Hagler and see that he had great footwork, head movement and wouldn't have stood there played into Toney's style....Jirov and Hagler are totally different. For the record, Toney was legitimately dropped by Sam Peter and Reggie Johnson :)

  • hagler was a fuckin machine! relentles and tough. toney is a real warrior no doubt, but i think hagler would edge the fight. points victory.

  • The ref really was bloody awful.

    Good finish by Toney though.

  • Roy Jones owned toney.

  • IS THAT JACKIE KALLEN @ 3:24?

  • @TheBardyCharver Couldn't agree more mate. Hagler would have destroyed Toney and anyone who knows boxing will tell you that.

  • oney was good even great at middle, but Hagler would have wore his ass down and stopped him late.

Hagler was the best pure middleweight EVER! Hearns was way more devestating at middle than Toney ever was. Hearns was a better boxer and had more one punch KO powe, speed, and a sensational jab and Hagler walked through him like he wasn't there!

Toney was great in that he was old school, but to say he would be Hagler is a leap!

In his prime Hagler was unstoppable.

  • that left hook fucked this guys life up.

  • I see hagler winning but not by ko james was one of the best defensive fighters in the sports history.Hagler by U.D.

  • I cant believe those heartless bastards sentenced him to 24 yrs fuckin entrapment. Some undercover cop sold him a kilo of coke for 200 aqnd they nail him for the 24000 street value.Meanwhile Tyson is convicted of rape and is out in 3 yrs. Theres a lot to like about U.S.A but fuck ya'll are definatly fucked on some levels!!!

  • @kevindlinc Yeah the US hands out some ridiculous sentences.

  • @TheBardyCharver Couldn't agree more!! The fighters of the 70's and 80's were a step above. I really believe Hagler would have taken Toney apart. Toney was only effective if you came to him like Jirov or Prince Charles Williams did. Toney had trouble with guys going in and out, side to side which Hagler did orthodox and southpaw. Toney was good but not great but those two fights I mentioned ,Jirov and Williams, were fucking epic.

  • @TheBardyCharver Amen to that. Toney was good and one tough dude but Hagler level?? No way. I'm reading these posts and they keep saying Toney was more skilled than Hagler and it's pretty fucking irritating. Toney was given a gift decision over Dave Tiberi another one with Mccallum, Montell whooped his ass twice, outclassed by Nunn for 10 rounds until the dramatic left hook, a few split decision wins, Roy embarrssed him. Hagler level??? Please.

  • @3luckydog i feel you but toney is more skilled then hagler

  • Hagler would have knocked Toney out

  • lights out baby.

  • toney was practically unbeatable when he was in shape, but he's so naturally skillful in the ring he's still a top fighter. i think he's too aware of his own genius, and is too confident for his own good. if he got back in shape he could have a few great fights left.

  • Was Nunn winning the fight by points until he got KO'ed by Toney because thats what I sort off heard the announcer say???

  • @xRaIDeNx69 yeah he was winning by points

  • toney wasnt even that big for a middleweight, yet here we see him years later fighting at heavyweight and handling most of the big boys with ease

  • @rjjibtfmj Some people including Toney even claim that the Klitschko brothers are ducking him, whether or not thats true I still would pay to see Toney vs Vlad or Vitali!

  • I believe Jackie Kallen and James Toney was fucking too...notice at 3:25 that she almost kissed him in the mouth!! HEHEEE...I would've been hitting that too!!

  • If Couture takes one to the temple from Toney, that's it.

  • Hey princess ima getchya. Hahahaha

  • Horrible ref that is why boxers souynd like toney.

Great ko but I'm cheering for him to get his asked kicked in mma.

  • I remember when this fight went down. From 91 - 94, James Toney was one bad ass mother fucker. He didn't pick, choose, or dodge anyone. Although he is way past his prime now, I always remember Lights Out from 91-94 as one of my fav fighters of that era. I tip my hat to you brother.

  • @jpto0238 A lot of people forgot what a great fighter James Toney was back in his prime.

  • @jpto0238 yep - you got it. He slated the whole boxing community because they said to stay away from MMA - he embarrassed boxing by turning up with a big fat gut looking for the million dollar punch. He embarrassed boxing by the fact that for him to be understood they had to use subtitles. He was our one big shot at making a mark in MMA but he is an asshole and an embarrassment to himself and boxing. He has taken his million dollars to feed his fat face.

  • @PJ3love Please, anyone who actually thought he was gonna take Couture seriously enough to train should be "surprised."

  • @PJ3love LMAO!!!

  • @jpto0238

Toney vs Hopkins during the 91 - 94 era.Who you got!?

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Toney, hands down. From 1991 - 1994, Toney would've beaten God if they fought. That mo'fuggah was UNCONSCIOUS with his knuckle game back then. Hopkins didn't become elite and refined with it until the late 90's (check out his first fight against Antwun Echols for the clinic B-Hop gave in the sweet science pure fundamentals). Toney; by contrast, was savant-like from the gate. But he never should've fought at middleweight. He was a 200lb quarterback in high school!!!

  • @daTruChosen

I'll go for that.I see it & it makes good sense. How about this match up.Michael Spinks vs Bernard Hopkins at Light Heavyweight 175lbs

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING Prime for prime? I gotta take Hopkins. Spinks was a really good fighter, but once Hopkins got right around '98 (he peaked unusually late, which is why he's still dangerous at 47), he was nearly unbeatable.

  • Again..Toney one of my favorite fighters to watch and learn...watch the series of punches he used to set-up this ko...body-head combos w/patience... a masterpiece

  • Seeing all of these posts about Toney vs HAGLER!?!? I can't see Hagler losing to James Toney. Not the peak version that smoked Minter to win the best, dusted Vito Antuofermo twice (in spite of that first 'draw'), and blasted Caveman Lee halfway to the moon. This Toney was gettin' his ass handed to him by Michael Nunn and caught him with a shot that he wouldn't catch Hagler with. Hagler is one of the 15 all-time fighters IMHO...can't have James Toney beating him.

    On another note, TVKO sucked!

  • @cbaldwinjr a 'CLEAN' Nunn would have beaten Hagler

  • @PJ3love

Na'ah...Hagler wasn't going to lose to Nunn. LOL

  • @cbaldwinjr ok, based on what?

  • if hagler fought toney, toney woulda lost simply because he woulnt be ready to fight the always fit hagler.

  • @makpak Okay, now it is time for the "expert'!!!! neither man gets knocked out because both men had good chins and hated their opponents enough to withstand the best each word give. everyone should stop taking about knockouts cause that would not have happened with these two!!! HAGLER WINS THE ROUNDS TONEY TAKES OFF, TONEY'S COUNTER RIGHT WOULD CONNECT AFTER HAGLERS JAB, BUT MARVINS WORK RATE WOULD EARN HIM A DECISION THAT NO ONE ARGUES WITH EXCEPT TONEY.

  • Nothing lucky about it he was clocked by a huge left after he was stunned by the right. Toney just kept punching!

  • i miss these days of toney. nunn had no chance of staying away, james cut the ring off perfect.

  • James Tony always had devastating power in that left hand.

  • LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL!!!

At 0:44 That commentator says "This nigga James Tony."

  • @Solowizard lmao u are def m8

  • @lee1990lee imao u are def m8

  • @Solowizard he sez the conditionin of james toney

  • @Solowizard he says "how about the conditioning of james toney"

  • @Solowizard

HAHAHA it really sounds like it :D

  • @Solowizard lol, man I thought he said that to, but he really said "the conditioning of James Tony." Still funny as hell though :)

  • I hope that referee gets killed by a piano falling on his head

  • Yo, why does that left hand look like someone pressed fast-forward. Wooo!

  • dundee told nunn move to his right, and he came right out, and went left. amazing how different toney looked in both physicality and style. this was only the third pay per view i ever bought

  • toney is top 25 ever in my opinion

  • Even if Tony wouldn't have hit Nunn in the

back his head, nunn would've gone down

anyway--he was already out from the devastating left hook and hardly could get up. He could no longer stand up to Tony and the end result would have been the same. The hit in the back of the head makes Tony look bad, but it cannot be used to make a case in favor of Nunn in terms of the outcome of the fight.

  • yeah he was hurt but come on man he freakin hit him in the back of the head i mean come on... hood rat that cant fight

  • @rhinocack u are fucking retarded

  • u obviously have no idea what you are talking about they would never make that match and there is no way toney could win that fight or would agree to that fight. Go back watch UFC 1 and learn something about mma and Boxers vs grapplers. good day stoopid

  • Left hook reminds me of the one Frazier dropped Ali with in the final round of their first match. Only difference is, Ali had the superior conditioning (and willpower) to get back up from it and finish the fight on his feet. Nunn? Not so lucky, lol.

  • He was too far gone, especially for post 70s fights.

Nunn was a sucker for upper cuts, because no one ever got close to him.

  • This is the stuff that legends are made of... Toney was getting his ass kicked the whole fight and then, BOOM! nighty night Nunn! But, it is ashame what life became for Nunn.

  • Toney would have a puncher's chance if he ever entered the world of the Iron Cage. In all honesty, his boxing would be ok, that never leaves you, but he's fucked once there's a takedown

  • who gives a shit man is takin money whilst leavin the sport.

  • toneys gonna get fucked up if he comes to the UFC.

  • I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Roy Nelson. Fat black guy from the hood versus fat white guy from the trailer...

  • @TGUNZ562 In mma? are you stupid or have you just never seen UFC 1?

  • I would consider myself the polar opposite of stoopid, LOL. I have watched UFC I numerous of times. I don't get your point. Now, that James Toney has signed to the UFC, a Toney/Nelson matchup looks like a real possibility.

  • It was a big outdoor fight at John Oddonel stadium, and we sat back not too far from the ring. Funny thing was, alot of the locals were pulling for Toney because on Nunns run ins with the Davenport police.

  • Fellas, argue all you like about which great does or does not beat James, but no fucking way does ANY amn KO or TKO

Toney. He was steel chinned and so hard to nail. I think he beats Hagler becuase of his versatility and countering and tougness. Hagler will be hitting a hell of a lot of thin air and eating an amount of counters

  • @GOATAli Not sure. That shoulder roll isn't effective against southpaws as evidenced in this fight and Hagler is definitely levels above Nunn. I would lean towards Hagler in a close fight.

  • @GOATAli

Toney IS tough as nails. But so was Hagler. I'd give the power edge to Toney,BUT I dont see Toney beating Hagler in a decision or being able to hit hard enough to take Hagler out.

  • the hagler ur talkin about is the great hagler who fought duran hearns and leanrd but u gotta remeber that was at the end of his career.

imagin hagler at his peak. imgain when they were all duckin hagler. just like toney hagler used to goto other fighters areas and fight them there and beat them. hagler was no joke and all these big fighters at that time knew this.

hagler would of won beacase he came in fit and ready. toney came in ready but not fit.

both all time greats in differnt ways

  • @makpak The best Toney was the 168 lb version, but at 160 lbs I will

take the version who beat McCallum. Toney's combination of toughness, chin,

style, relaxed attitude and countering is all wring for Marvin. I see this as Toney

being the far more accurate hitter, plus he has the toughness to win this inside and outside

  • @makpak 1983 Marvin faced Duran, right at his peak I would say.....Aged

    only 28 or so...

  • @GOATAli beat Hagler???? dude what u smoking? Your hallucinating. hagler would have killed James Toney and even he would tell you that. Come on man.

  • @imotep09 Kill Toney? The same guy who couldn't kill

an over the hill blown up LW Duran? If Mugabi can give Hagler

hell for 11 rds, then the far tougher and better Toney can pose

serious problems. James' combination of slicjness, chin and toughness

will test Marvin all the way. This is a great fight, and not a certainty

    for EITHER man.

  • @GOATAli hagler beats toney at this stage in his career. toney got better as he got older.

  • @GOATAli you are a silly fool hagler was levels above james toney toney is just another joe in the ring noone special like hagler u fool

  • @dipsetno1 What are you, Hagler's mother? Twat!

  • @GOATAli hagler was a beast compared to toney. im a huge toney fan, way more than hagler, but be real man. hagler was a fuckin beast. he fought anyone and so did toney. but hagler had better competition for sure. hagler was a stronger guy too. i think toney is just as good a chin and tough as hagler but hagler had much more power and could do it all, he could box, brawl or whatever. toney was more of a slick counter puncher. be real man, they are both legends but hagler is greater than him.

  • @smokeRocks509 im a hagler fan also but i think toney would have beaten him because of the defense. Im just sayin he would have made him miss and just picked his shots the way he did with barkley. but who will ever know..

  • @Inocandojame toney is probably my favorite boxer. love the guy, he is a true warrior and one the last real badass boxers that will probably ever come around. but hagler was the man. he could do everything and was strong as steel. i like toney but i think hagler is just better than toney, they r both legends though.

  • @smokeRocks509

Your favorite boxer is getting pounded out by Randy Couture.

  • @holidayrap randy is gonna take one punch from toney and get his ass stunned. he has never been hit like toney is gonna hit him. randy has no chin and is old as hell. im not stupid and i know this is coutures home turf but a lucky opunch can go a long ways. just remeber that randy has to clost the distance on toney and i see him he getting hit coming in and randy can not take a shot from toney. of course i think randy will win but i know toney does have a chance.

  • @smokeRocks509

Actually I'm kinda hoping JT pulls an upset. That would be fab!! And I think it would be good for both sports. Toney must know something that we don't. If JT uses short punches in the clinch and backs up to throw some real swingers an upset is possible.

We're talking a world class boxer so I agree he does have a punchers changes..It could go like Mercer vs Sylvia..who knows!

  • @smokeRocks509 absolutely..and in Toneys fights he will sometime crouch down to a few feet tall while weaving and shooting short right uppercuts and left hooks to the body..I think if he utilizes a low crouch, like he is so expert at, he will cause Couture to hesitate on the shoot, giving him time to find an opening, which wont take long. As long as James fights LOW, and stays under Randy, he can stop the shoot with uppercuts, and straight rights. All power shots. Jabs useless against Randy.

  • @GOATAli I don't think Toney would have a chance in hell against Hagler. Come on man! I've met and had dinner with Dave Tiberi. A great man, very nice. But Tiberi beat him and got robbed of a split decision and Tiberi doesn't stand a chance against Hagler.

  • @Ninety2q toney was out of shape against Tiberi, not a smart move, but thats how it was. Hagler struggled with Antuerfermo as well, hardly an all time great.

  • @BringerOfTheTruth Hagler is hardly and all time great? Ha, ok brother. To each his own.

  • @Ninety2q read it again, it means "antuerfermo was hardly an all time great". YEa hagler is, of course

  • @GOATAli You done lost your damn mind. And what the hell was Hagler going to be doing while toney was winning the fight. No one stood toe to toe with Hagler. Toney is good but he wasn't going to beat no Hagler. Hagler punches hurt and he was just a better counter puncher. Don't ever walk into a gym or a bar and say that. Everyone will know you don't know a damn thing about fighting!

  • @vincespell Nobody stood toe to toe with Hagler? You sure about that?

The Beast did, and actually pushed Hagler too, for 11 rds. Now, the Beast

isn't close to Toney in terms of skills and versatility. See what you fail to grasp

is Toney's amazing and relaxed style, his ability to use an opponents

strength and aggression against him. No no, Toney wouldn't be bullied by

any middle,, Hagler included. Toney can beat Hagler inside or outside, his al around skills are too much. No going to bars!

  • @GOATAli He was steel chinned and so hard to nail "thats wat she said". lol.

hagler wil beat him because that dude comes prepared. toney has the edge in skill and thats it.

they both had same power, same speed, and everything else was the same.

ony thing that wins this fight is haglers work ethic, that dude CAME PREPARED! Hagler came out smokin man.

love both though, i thank God the fight never happend and nver will.

  • @GOATAli Toney never beats Hagler. "Versatility and countering and toughness"... over Hagler?? Don't see it.

  • @GOATAli hagler would chop up toney here as a middleweight. He would cut toney to ribbons.

  • who was winning the fight on the judges cards when it was stopped?

  • NO middleweight in HISTORY ko's Toney, his defense and chin were too good. Benn lost to much lesser men than Toney and would have been ko'd in 6 rounds or less.

  • hagler both at 160 would sharpshoot toney out by the 10th.Monzon would outpoint toney.Nunn had a glass jaw. That was his demise, not drugs. He couldn't take punches.

  • I agree with you that Hagler would get Toney out of there. But there is one other middleweight you left out. Sugar Ray Robinson, Ray would have made Toney look like a fool and would have stopped him in the middle to late rounds.

  • @fadethetrade None didn't have a glass jaw. He took some hard right hands and that left hook was insane.

  • Nunn DID NOT have a glass jaw! He had a great jaw. Nunn was wore down. Nobody ever say kalambay had a glass jaw

  • If Nunn had a glass jaw, this fight wouldnt have lasted as long as it did. Nunn ate quite a few right hands.

  • nigel benn would have beat both nunn and toney.he had to much much heart for the pair of them. pity they never fought

  • I think Benn would have KO'd Toney although I do think Nunn would have out boxed Benn.

Nunn could have been an all time great but was his own worse enemy.

  • Guys like Nigel Benn, the warrior types are actually very very easy to fight if you have skill and defense like Toney has......very,remember,styles make fights!!!

  • Yeah I agree. The thing with Benn was he wore his heart on his sleeve. And made things more difficult for himself than they were. But when Benn boxed, he was a hell of a lot more dangerous.
