I laughed so hard when I get mine done about a year ago. My eyes were watering like crazy even though it really didn't hurt(I had an experience septum piercer). Don't try to gauge ur septum past 12g with a crescent pincher, just spend a couple dollars and get a taper. I gauged mine up to ten and have had it that way for prolly 6 months now

i just got my septum done, and he had to pierce it twice D:

my sweet spot(skin w/ no cartilidge) has a floating piece of cartilidge in it, and when my piercer pierced it 1st time, it just popped my cartilidge out. so he had to go higher(ouchies) into cartilidge!

honestly its such a lovely piercing, although it was excrutiating for me (this is EXTREMELY rare by the way, my piercer said that it was the first time this had happen to him during a septum piercing in 10 years(DON'T BE WORRIED))

skin has layers. I pierced mine in the bathroom with a sewing needle. first layer hurts. Once your in cartilage it dossent hurt, then the last layer of skin on the other side hurts the worst.
