  • Oops no I was wrong...

  • Who's the chick with the buzz cut and the silver coat at 1:30? Is that Angie Bowie?

  • Funny they mention Bowie. Saw Roxy waaay back in 1977 @ Palladium in NYC. Hung out afterwards near the back stage door, and who flies out but Bowie himself. Yeah, I was star struck.

  • Great sound Great style

  • PLEASE...IT'S B R Y A N..NOT brian....

  • THE GYNECOLOGY OF DARKNESS [abortogenic adj. : causing abortion : ABORTIFACIENT] — [“Out of the night, two cocks together crow, Cleaving the darkness with a silver blow.” — Edward Thomas (1878-1917)] — Dear Children: Focus on foci, on marks & markings that mar gynecology till the small rims & ridges shed their crusts and labial concerns no longer include the stuff that makes bread rise and wine marketable.

  • I wish their was a proper documentary on Roxy Music here on you tube...

  • @LBjim - go to Bryan Ferry's you tube page or my page and I think that'll do the trick.

  • Wow, thanks for this post! I absolutely love Roxy Music and its sooo hard to get good footage/specials in the States.

  • Can someone tell me what the song is at 4:49?

  • @YoikoHibiki It's 'Grey lagoons' - which is on the 'For your pleasure' album

  • 8 minutes? 8 hours might do them justice!! Excellent all the same...

  • 1 person is an Air Supply fan.

  • What I think most people don't get, with early Roxy. with wearing a little makeup, outragous costumes, is that it was not just an ART thing of Ferry's conception but this was the glam rock era and Ferrry had to fit with that and out do it. You needed to be noticed and Roxy did that and blew the competion out the water, as Roxy were a phenomenal band, studio and live. It was glam rock with class and musicianship beyond any glam band. A totaly new entity. Pure Genius on Ferry's part in conception

  • @Kristopful Not to mention a frickin oboe in a glam rock band!!

Some of Phils solo stuff rocks too!!

  • @CSXer An oboe and SAX player Mackay is still the best I have ever heard. His solo runs are incredible. Manzanera one of the most underated innovative guitarist's ever, in my top 5. Thompson on drums, one of the most powerful and "tight" drummers I have ever heard. Ferrry, with his genius lyrics and charismatic performance. This was an awesome combination. Plus Eno & Jobson. If you want the real power of Roxy check out remake/remodel + in ever dream home...live. A German concert, early period.

  • @Kristopful Any idea where to find a modern live version of The Bogus Man??

I wish they would have done that on the 2001 live video. One of my favs!

  • @CSXer As I understand it, from other's who have said they wished there was a live video version, there is no version that I know off....There is a very poor video of it live (some bootleg backrow recording on YouTube..but it's just a blur. You cannot see the band at all, it's so bad) but the sound and performance is quite good. You will have too search for it....it's there, but I dont know the link.

  • @Kristopful Thank you, Yes I've seen that vid. Just wishing to find a better version.

Have you seen the paper animation version of the Bogus Man done by some art student?? It's AWESOME!!! Just do a "Bogus Man" search here on Utube for it.

    Take care!!

  • @CSXer Thanks for informing me of the paper animation of Bogus Man...I just found it,,. It is awsome as you said.!

Another Roxy Vidio added too my favourites.

Thanks, and you take care also.

  • One word. Genius

  • Whose the black-lipstick, lollipop girl with the leather collar who keeps showing up? what film is that from? she looks like one of the bromley contingent!

  • "..stormtroopers of glam..." wonderful!

  • ...a truly innovative, artful, re-defining rock band...

  • ..."a 1950 revival taking place in 2020"... good line...appropriate...

  • thanks great post!

  • this is really good--thanks a lot!

  • great post ...........

  • spot on from charles shaar murray.and how i enjoyed these series.

  • Thanks for posting, the commentary/playing from Phil and Andy really makes this.

"When did you last hear an oboe in a rock band?" Indeed.

  • CPL 593H

  • Great posting, many thanks!!!

  • This is wonderful! Thanks for posting. It's nice to see some of the early stuff and the band talking about what they were doing.

  • Incredible! Thank you for posting this. The comments are great. And it's really cool to see the band talk about their music. I wish more people would do documentaries about them and what they're doing today. Thanks again. CPL593H!

  • Bryan Ferry gets better with age!

  • Like a fine wine! :-)

  • Yes, great stuff here. The best band then for a long time! Still today they're out of time!

  • i'd never seen early footage of If There Is Something live, all my favorite songs are here. I love the whole retro - futuristic part.. o and adooore the additional glam ladies. Thank you so much for uploading this video!

  • Yeah, I was so happy to see the footage of "If there is something"! If only we could get the whole performance! Anyone?
