I'd suggest practicing hopping with both L and R foots forward. In fact ofr all uni skills it's best to be able to do them L or R dominate.
I've love to know your experience with tires and pressure. I've taken to riding slicks on my 26" uni at >50 psi; but lower pressures are nicer for hopping. Knobbies drive me crazy - it's really hard to control going backwards. I get the impression that lower pressures are better for track stand balancing and control - but I'm not that good yet.
where did you get your unicycle from?

Can you give a quick tip on what the orientation of the pedals should be? Like is it a 9-3 o'clock? Or 10-4? Know what I'm saying?
