Thank you so much. I almost gave up trying to remove this cover. You saved me a trip to the Sprint store for help. It's amazing how many people have this problem. The wax really works well. Thanks again!
Thank You! It's amazing how many people have trouble with this. I almost took it back to the store for help. You saved me time and money. Thanks again!
I never would have thought of wax if I had issues. I found the Samsung instructions to be pointless. All I do is press down on the Samsung logo on the back and slide forward. Seems to work fine.
Damm this video was a saver. My cell froze and i had to take the battery cover off i tried and tried and could not. Went on Google to see if there was any tips. And it took me here. Tried everything u said here and i have to say thanks bro this worked for me the very first time..
Im sorry but if you dont know how to get this off your kinda special..i know how and i dont even have this phone...First turn to back at very bottom you will see a arrow pointing up...put you nail or finger in that area between the arrow and the back and pull down...its basically a lock..the arrow will slide down and the cover will come off!!!!!
This stems from a sprintusers forum, and some people didn't know how to apply the wax. This not a request for input. It is to make the cover easy to remove for those who have the problem. Not a guide for removing the cover. This technique provides easy battery removal, and has never fallen off by accident. The instructions say to press in on the arrows to release the lock, but it wasn't the lock that held it in place. The battery cover is too snug and wax was a convenient lubricant.
im really confused i have never had any problem getting my battery cover off, i had nextels for years and always thought they were challenging but this battery cover is great and i thought it was really easy to get off, heres a tip for you guys...hit up the gym if its giving you that much trouble
Thnx for this idea. I didn't do it exactly how you did but I applied wax to the cover and it worked great. Thnx for helping me improve my already awesome phone.
With a talent for the obvious. I know the audio is annoying, but this stemmed from a disagreement in a sprintusers forum. So I put together, my first video in about 10 minutes. So if you feel the need to state the obvious. Go ahead.
What do you mean by easier? It starts for you automatically? Or is it a video of a "technique" for opening the cover? The point of this video isn't to show you a "new" or "better" technique but to address the friction problem, so that no matter how you open it, it is easier to open, without having to go through retarded techniques.
It doesn't affect all the phones. Some people have difficult to remove battery covers and others do not. Perhaps a slight manufacturing defect between the batches.

My hands always slip off any other tips?

In my experience, the three that we had, plenty of wax made it easy to slide off. Your mileage may vary.

dude, its not like im going to be removing it every 5 min.

If your battery life was like mine was, you be doing it once a day.

It took me a good 10 minutes to find the right position to pull off that damn cover. But i suppose it makes the phone sturdier.

son you woulda had an easier time getting it open if you had just pushed from the middle instead of the back

huh? It isn't a matter of having an easier time. Some of the early Instincts were almost impossible to remove without lubricant.

I don't have any problems with getting the over off. I apply little pressure where the batterie is located below the cover with my palm and push up.
