If having mild hypothyroidism due to Hashimoto's with a TSH varie between 4 and 6, Negative ATPO and ATG (not elevated but normal), and normal T4 and T3... is it wise to reduce TSH to 1 to then start increasing it by Iodine? or simply by correcting TSH to 2 approx and without having vitamin&minerals insuffiency you should do fine?
@zhyloNN TSH stimulates thyroid cells to produce H2O2. Reducing TSH reduces Hashimoto's antibodies. When both TSH and the antibodies are low then introduce iodine and iodide very slowly. The only way I know to reduce the antibodies is through the use of thyroid medication, preferably a combo of T4 and T3, avoiding iodine and iodide completely since they increase TSH, and avoiding gluten. TSH and the Hashi antibodies should be monitored after a month after introducing iodine.
@drahaskell That's weird because i had a TSH of 17.9, was put on levothyroxine, felt terrible on it, after a week switched to armour that day and got more bloodwork done same day. My Antibodies were 181, really high, and my free t4 was 1.3 doctor has me on armour and potassium iodide. I have been on armour for a month before being put on potassium iodide, and i've been on it for about a little less than a week. Still feeling terrible though, with chest tightness , bit of wheezing, sore throat
@ashleypoo1319 sorry meant to add that with the chest and throat/neck pain, there is no apparent infection, the throat /neck pain started about a week into diagnosis, on the t4 only meds, and it's still here on armour and iodide. my neck near the lymphs are stiff as well, but i was put on antibiotics and it lessened the lymph swelling but still have throat/neck pain and lymphs are still stiff.
