  • At some point in taxes we found a rate that worked, i would say round the 80s 90s then we killed the fed income and we want to blame our budget on social programs even though they existed in the prosperous times of clinton and reagan. Lots of money is being spent to tell the country to give the rich billions in cuts then pay for it in cutting billions in medicare, social security ect. it sure isnt intended to save the usa from economic ruin as it is for... even more time on the golf course

  • You are an envious, shameless, thief !!!! Wrap yourself in " do it for the poor or you are an immoral bastard." However you are still a thief.

  • That woman who said she wanted to buy a bently because she missed many nights spending with her kids... you don't need to be a liberal to find that disgusting. Does anyone know her name?

  • I WANT RUPERT MURDOCH IN JAIL, ROTTING AWAY.. AND HE NEEDS TO LOOSE ALL HIS MONEY .... .GIVE IT TO THE VICTIMS...

GOD KNOWS WHAT OTHER SHADY CRAP HE HAS DONE....

    DESTROYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY MURDICHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOWWWWWWWW!!

  • ....very very small of it

raise there taxes god damn it

  • THERE IS a moral responsibility for the rich to help more than the average when there is no physical or emotional need for a bentley a bentley will not cure your diseases and wont extend your life in anyway...why have it besides the fact of just wanting it.....how can the rich live with themselves buying outrageously priced material objects and not helping their fellow americans

throwing there american made money into the world market and not back into the US economy was and is a very very very.

  • Stein is wrong. If you want to make health care cheaper, then make it cheaper. Eliminate frivolous lawsuits and enable competition over state lines. Of course they'll never consider these reforms because that's how THEIR bread is buttered, THEM being the ones writing the laws. It is not right for me to be required to pay for Joe-blow's health care, whether I have $50 in the bank or $50,000,000. And if you want to start talking about CHARITY instead of WELFARE that's another topic entirely.

  • @kra5139 At points of wealth that you may not have nor never will reach, Yes, Ben is right. This republic is about the resources being owned by everyone. No one doesn't depend on the human rights of all Americans and just because one has more money they shouldn't ever let their increase be at the expense of others..If we didn't have fractional monetary each person wouldn't mean each dollar has less value so the Bankers are always giving more dollars with less value into the economy.

  • Wow that black guy is an uncle tom, LOL

  • it makes me so frustrated. i understand the american hard work ethic, but when you are flaunting about buying a $300,000 car while sitting in rockefeller center. While, most likely, thousands of people are headed to their 2nd job as a fry cook just to pay rent and a few bills. I bet she doesn't even know what the minimum wage is... do you think people like that can afford health care? especially when they get denied from some bogus claim.

  • 'If I worked hard and I want to by a 300,000 dollar car I will' blah blah blah...Why does the anti-tax contigent always repeat this mantra as though it actually means anything? There are MANY MANY people who work hard all their lives and have very little to show for it.

  • ben stein kicks ass, he always knows what he's talking about, these morons on fox news piss me off. they're always making shit up

  • It's too bad Ben Stein is also trying to regress science education back to the pre-Enlightenment.

  • we are our brothers' keeper. Everyone in America who makes $30000 or more should give 5% to a charity. Its moraly imperative. Not forced to give but if you have a consciounce, you will help those in need. If you choose not, I call that greed.

  • @xukeith33 $30000?!?!? You speak about thirty grand as if its thirty million.

Forced charity is not charity at all.

Greed feeds billions more than the people who own the money themselves. No one has ever gotten a paycheck from a poor person.

Steins flaw here is suggesting that the problems with healthcare are just because rich people exist! All the things wrong with healthcare WERE CAUSED BY SOCIAL ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS AND FRIVALOUS LAWSUITS!!!....NOT because rich people aren't charitable.

  • Ben Stein`s opinion on taxes baffles me. Wopuld HE HIMSELF really be able to pay higher taxes.

  • "Health Care" is not a government responsibility. Health is our responsibility. The euphemistically named "Health Care System," is rather, a sickness management & control system, that accrues to the benefit of the Medical Pharmaceutical Complex. The government is not the "solution," it is the problem. "Health" is only a pretext. Profit from sickness is the goal.

  • i only see people interrupting each other like this on fox lololo

  • Giving should come from the HEART, not by FORCE of law or gun point! Ben Stein IS correct, the wealthy SHOULD give and give OFTEN, but not if the person is SOUR about it or wants something in return. If Jessica Alba and a middle aged, balding white guy are hitch hiking, I guarantee you, the man who receives a ride will get it from the GOODNESS of someone's heart, while the man picking up Jessica Alba will want SOMETHING in return, so which GIVER'S gift has MORE value?

  • @intelligentlman stupidummy.

  • too bad that wast longer

  • Stein needs to go on MSNBC or some fair and balanced news network because obviously, Cavuto and Fox have an agenda to push and they will let no truth or facts get in the way.

  • @lurchutube ROFLMAO!! Right...MSNBC...."fair and balanced". That's rich! Two words....Keith Olberman....two more words....Chris Matthews. 'nuff said.

  • @lurchutube You like Ben too? I see him on CNN a lot.

  • Is that a real song at the beginning?

  • We should remind these corporate whores who's in charge in this country, it's us, the workers, we stop the trucks, close our stores, stop the train, taxis, building just block the fucking system.

  • Stein has a rather unique ability to come down on whichever side of an issue he feels iscorrect. Too many people, especially those you see on TV, are either left or right 100% of the time. Ben Stein can see, as more people should, that there is some middle ground on most issues, and that the middle ground is where the most people can benefit the most. Not just on this issue, but in the broader spectrum.

  • @nezpercenathan

Are you kidding me? Stein is a charlatan.

    watch?v=RYX1AgEV0vo

  • read a "A Peoples History of the United States" by Howard Zinn. If you don't think oil exec's see the benefits in winning a war in Iraq you are sadly mistaken. Don't let the rich lead the poor into war through talks of moral obligations or invoking fear. It's been done before. Knowledge will set you free.

  • Neil Cavuto, is pathetic.

  • @glenbeckbites That's funny I remeber a Democrat doing the same things. Dose it actually have a party line or is it just plain old abuse of power?

  • Automatic discredit to Ben Stein; he was a lawyer and speech writer for Richard Nixon, and even went so far as to deny the existence of Deep Throat, and to say that Nixon would've stopped the Khmer Rouge had he not been forced to resign, which is absolute lunacy. Pol Pot was on of our proverbial "bastards".

  • It's funny to see the rich thinking they are the only one's who work hard, and that other's unlike themselve's are just lazy and need to work harder, lol, when some of them get a few mil a yr for doing "work" like what we just watched, haha

  • first minute is so fucking annoying

  • Rich people would be fucked if poor people stopped serving them.

  • @roodeey Perhaps...but poor people would be royally foocked if the wealthy (as well as the middle class) stopped paying for their Welfare, unemployment insurance, Medicaid, food stamps, etc.

  • I usually don't agree with Ben Stein but thought he was right on in this clip.

  • Very disturbing to think that this is even a topic of debate.

Where I come from we have a public-funded health care system plus the private health care option if one wishes to purchase for it.

My grandma was in need of heart surgery and got it for free but in America some of you guys need to sell your own house or just wait until you die.

That is a moral disgrace, but America is supposedly a good country with christian morals (yuck)...where is the compassion?

    Hypocrites.

  • The idea that rich people work harder is bull shit.

  • What's wrong with the rich helping the country that allowed them to be rich? It's misleading to suggest that anybody is going to be disadvantaged financially, by contributing to health care. Rich or poor, we all pay taxes and elect officials to represent us. If some of those taxes create a competent health care system that is money well spent. Good health care should be a fundamental right. Not something you have to fight for.

  • If only their were more good people like you. Thank you!

  • @ptango101 Healthcare should be a responsibilty to get, not a right...since when has a "right" been at the expensive of anothers labor??

  • Way to go, Stein! Preach it man! :D

  • I like Ben Stein...I wonder why he's wasting his time in such an absurd shouting match on the Fox propaganda machine.

  • I applaud you Ben Stein. I'm glad they debunked his misleading questions.

  • How do you know Cavuto doesn't feel obligated to help people? He wants all people to keep their money and voluntarily give it away. He doesn't want bigger govt, as he stated.

People who make 20, 30 million dollars a year won't get hurt if they only make 10 or 20 million dollars.

To whom much is given, much is required.

  • @amindbody People do not voluntarily give money away to help other, are you living in the twilight zone? Thats why we need taxes on the wealthy

  • I am pleased we don't have idiotic arguments like this in Europe. But then, in Europe we have good universal education and we don't just go on repeating freedom freedom freedom all the time.

  • i'm a bit surprised but it seems there is some humanity left in Stein

  • some people lack the ability to empathize with others....Neil Cavuto and the rest of these privileged rich people make me sick.... especially the woman talking about Bentleys .... she acts as if she is the only one that has worked hard in a career, as if all poor people are lazy and undeserving to be healthy..... the poor do most of the grunt work and back-breaking labor in this country, while she is getting paid to say a few statements on television

  • Even though in reality that women probably busted her ass to earn a degree while the poor person smoked drugs and probably went through high school not giving a fuck about their future. Now they are all grown up and think that they need help form the government when it was really they who had the problem. Very conservative statement, but think about how many people you know that fucked off in high school and see where they are at now.

  • Rich America is very hostile to the lower and middle class. The American middle class was largely created by unionized labor, which is constantly under attack by rich America.

The rich DO need to pay more taxes in the U.S. I am not saying we should return the top marginal tax rate to 52% like it was during Eisenhower, but how about back to 39.% like it was during Clinton?

And when a bunch of poor people register to vote, they cry foul (i.e. "Boo-hoo, Acorn stole the election")

  • I usually don't like Ben Stein, but he owns it here

  • Cavuto is an idiot.

  • You're an idiot

  • Also, notice how Cavuto interrupts anyone who is making a good point, or take a break, and they misrepresent thier views in a biased question.

Fair and balanced indeed. Get back to sucking Murdoch cock Cavuto.

  • So much for being Christ-like, right?

  • I love how the woman jusitifies getting a Bentley as a reward for spending nights away from her children.

  • Goodness me, America it is very simple - use tax money to pay for health care, like every other country - you guys are just odd. Thankyou for Medicare in Australia - no worries mate - too easy 1% of my tax - 600 bucks of my tax a year!!! Nothing - no worries

  • In Swtizerland the government (federal and local) only pays 25% of the costs, while in America government pays 50%, but 99.5% of swiss people has medical coverage, In Netherlands private insurances cover 1/3 of the costs, the same in America, and 99% has coverage. So there is something America is doing wrong.

  • When Switzerland gains about 300 million more people to care about, then you should compare the two healthcare systems.

  • u guys all seriously agree with neil cavuto on this one?....obviously ur messing bens point...its not about wether r not the rich r golfing all day..he's just trying to say that they can afford to be taxed a bit more n it wouldnt hurt them 1 bit...they'd still be filthy rich n they'd still have their homes up in the hills belive me

  • ben stein, has a good point the wealthy people have more than they need, and poor people are suffering cuz they don't have health care ...

  • I didn't know Ben Stein was such a collectivist. What a waste of a giant head.

  • Wow I didn't know Ben Stein was such a collectivist. First the retarded intelligent design and now this? He's getting more and more disappointing.

  • The ONE issue Ben Stein fails to mention is HOW did the wealthy get that way? Did they inherit it, or perhaps work for 20 years, 7 days a week, 16 hours a day building a business? Ben makes it seems that because they "play golf all day" that somehow they didn't earn it somehow. While I do agree healthcare should be more affordable, that comes thru the competitive market not govt control and rationing.

  • The healthcare industry should not be on the free market. Period. The fire dept, PD etc. are not on the free market. We have created an unfair moral hazard, the put Drs. in a position that no one should have to deal with. And hosp are even worse, most of them are non-profits owned by relg orders who don't pay taxes. Ever other country has figured this out. Its not about socialism or being anticap. It's commonsense, something just can't be trusted on the free market. Our mess is proof of that.

  • And have you seen how the fire and police depts are run? Poor pay, long hours, high stress, outdated, shoddy equipment and constant layoffs. Not to mention the corruption within the ranks and the unions. You want that for your healthcare? "Every other country who figured this out" has poorer medical standards, rationing and end up having a higher mortality rate for serious medical care. Which is why they all come to the US for their operations & cancer treatment.

  • are you completely blind?!! WOW.

  • Blind, deaf, mute, and paralyzed from the neck down

  • of course you have a moral imperative to help the poor, especially if you have the means to. but when the hell should the government start legislating morality? liberals are against having christian morals imposed on them, but will happily force their secular/humanitarian morals on the rest of society. coerced charity is not charity. is it really so great to have a government that steals from the rich, skims most off the top, and then throws the crumbs to the poor?

  • 0:53 now i can skip the introduction

  • Why should I have to pay for some idiots lifetime addiction to junk food?!?! And if anyone thinks they are going to "take from the rich" then they are truly nieve! The rich don't pay taxes they simply collect them. A PERFECT example of this is the war on cigarettes. If people are going to be completely fanatical about health care how about legalizing drugs (marijuana at least) and use the tax money for our currently unfunded medicaid/medicare programs?

  • Wow, I really disliked Stein because of his idiocy involving evolution, but he does seem to have his morals in the right place. These neocons don't seem to read the bible very much. Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the Earth. It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. That woman wants her Bentley some day, but doesn't care that the 300,000 for some guy's golf membership could pay for health care for a dozen people.

  • Neil and that Woman are very selfish people, they would rather see people suffer than pay a bit more tax..SICK!!

  • is this ben stein?

  • Treating patients at an affordable rate will affect their work ethic and make rich feel guilty - what kind of common sense is that from the con camp.

  • Good job Neil for making fun of Ben Steins being Jewish at the end. I guess he did it because they disagreed in a discussion on taxing the rich. It's a good thing Ben isn't black. He would call him "boy" or worse.

  • there's the ben stein who i used to love

  • wow...leave it to FOX and those damned conservative bastards to think that poor people are lazy and can't help themselves... this is why i hate capitalism...it gives those fortunate enough to have been born privileged delusions of grandeur. and as for those who worked to become wealthy, they seem to have forgotten that the rest of the world isnt as fortunate as them. monetary systems truly turn men into beasts...

  • What are Ben Steins politics?? He's great. Why is he considered conservative?

  • Damn the rich and their success. Sure, those who are considered poor in America would be considered rich beyond their wildest dreams in third world countries. We need communism! So the failures and flunkies can feel equal to those who worked hard and made themselves great. Screw those who work two or three jobs to support themselves! Hard work towards success is over rated. Lets all be lazy and non productive! That's so much better!

  • Ben has some GUTS!!!..

  • Cheers to Ben Stein for speaking to the truth. I'd have no problem if they pushed my tax rate upwards of 50%, period, because I can afford it.

  • and cheers to you for accepting that.

  • Agreed, Comrade!

  • My God, those people are so out of fucking touch. I frankly wish we the middle class would just put down their shovels for a whole day, then they would realize that they fucking need us.

  • Asshole Republicans. Why do they keep saying that Universal health care is such a horrible thing? It really works. I have relied on it my whole life and it has never done wrong by me. There are case of a few inner city emergency rooms being swamped and having a large backlog, but that is only in extreme cases.

Canadians generally have a longer life expectancy than Americans. What would cause that?

  • acronus, ben stein is a republican, not all of us are against it. anyway, something definitly needs to be done about it.

  • Cavuto's a jackass.

  • Anyone promoting socialism is dead wrong. They sell it as some kind of solution but socialism has brought nothing but death and oppression to the world. The imbalances are due to an immoral monetary system which tranfers wealth upward. Mr. Stein is completely wrong, he couldn't be more wrong. I'm surprised that Mr. Stein is so mislead at his age.

  • Both systems are wrong.....and money based to exploit the working class while the elite prosper.

A resource based economy is what humanity could and SHOULD have.

Watch: Zeitgeist: Addendum in its entirety for the solutions for humanity.

  • I am so happy that there is at least one element of the MSM that is looking out for the interests of the rich and powerful ruling class.

But seriously, can US citizens even have a meaningful discussion about class conflict?

  • On June 9, 2005, the high court struck down a Quebec law that prohibited people from buying private health insurance to cover procedures already offered by the public system.

"Access to a waiting list is not access to health care," two of the justices wrote in their decision.

The government will never take care of the People as well as the People. So long as we suck from the government's teet, will we be slaves in a land our fathers conquered.

    Socialism is theft...

  • ...and capitalism isn't?

I worked for a big company. Execs had all the perks, while the rest of us did the actual work. I made it up out of the field force and into the head office ivory tower, I saw what these smart guys who went to the right schools and had connections were actually doing: Playing around, offsite meetings at resort hotels, buying cars at company expense, etc.

And then one day the game ended. The company went BUST. We were unemployed but they sailed away on golden wings.

  • Subsidizing more health care will increase the costs. Programs like Medicaid and possibly in our future, Universal Health, will only increase the overall expenses and create waiting lists. These programs guarantee the Medical Industrial Complex money, creating a moral hazard, and less competitive motivation.

This will always be the result when you use force against others. So long as we use violence through taxation enforcement, will the goods and services we need be distorted by a heavy hand.

  • 'I should feel bad because I spend many nights away from my kids to pay for a 300,000 dollar bentley?'

Yes. Yes you should you horrible fucking excuse for a mother. I'm not even a father, but I will work hard for my kids, and work even harder to make sure they have a father home every night to raise them, and teach them good morals.

I WILL NOT teach my children that money solves all problems, and remedies all pains.

Am I crazy, or has this country lost ALL of it's morals?

  • lol poor ppl wouldnt even have this conversation

lol and it does matter if rich ppl are greedy

is helping humantiy "sticking it to the rich"? absurd conversation!

  • To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.

-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Joseph Milligan, April 6, 1816

  • If tax rates for the wealthy go up I will lose my incentive to climb the ladder? Baloney. I will want to be a home owner all the more because there's more of a chance of that happening if people in my tax bracket our assisted.

Stop fucking with me, Republicans. Stop it now.

P.S. - well done, Ben Stein.

  • So the poor didnt work hard enough to deserve to live, while the rich rather sit on their money then give 5 or something % more out of the pile.

  • The rich are not doing as much hard work as the poor. I dont know from they got this idea that a man working on a construcion site every day for 8 hours works the same as them, sitting in the studio talking about shit. Everyone can NOT be rich, so no matter how hard everyone works. Some are rich, some are not, and they cant say that they worked the same as the poor people or even more, and thats why they wont help those who need it, because they deserved their money.

  • A rich man lived each day in luxury. At his gate lay a poor man. As he lay there longing for scraps from the rich man's table, dogs would lick his soars. The poor man died & was carried by angels. The rich man died, and his soul went to the place of the dead. From hell the rich man begged for water & for his family to be warned. But Christ said, "If they won't believe Moses & the prophets, then they won't believe Someone risen from the dead." -Luke 16:19-31

    God bless Ben Stein.

  • You know conservatives have a point that in all 1st world western countries people complain about how horrible their healthcare is. But there's only one such country where it is not said that at least they don't have the American system.

  • Stein has never sounded smarter.

  • I tell you what, Lets not take ANY of Cavuto's money for taxes, instead, lets take away ALL of his Fox funded health care, then (god forbid) when he or another member of his family is diagnosed with Cancer or some other life threatning illness that requires hundreds of thousands of dollars to treat, lets see how quick his savings is gone, his 401K is gone, his 2nd house is sold, his investment property is sold, and all other assetts are sold to keep feeding the hospital, doctors and specialists.

  • Or maybe we should be like the UK and refuse treatment to the terminally cancer stricken (and similar) because it is too costly and would decrease the general funds that good be used to help other treatable diseases. Of course, there is a govt board which gets to decide who is the winner or loser. I'm certain the govt would not run a health care system effectively or fairly. It would be another "who do you know" to get your dollars allocated.

  • AMEN.

  • Holy fucking shit. This is the worst FOX News clip I've ever seen.

Cavuto and Cronies abstracted the argument into a phony debate of "work ethic" and "big government", effectively making the debate symbolic rather than realistic.

Implying that easing the burden on the 95% of the people who generate the wealth of the nation, is somehow taking away their "work ethic" is just stupid.

But its obvious that by "work ethic" they of course mean the willingness to basically be reamed by the market.

  • I'm from canada and helth care works wonderfull over here, there's no one dieing on the waiting lists everything here is taken in order of life threatining for example if you have a brain tumor you will get in way sooner then someone with hemorrhoids. i get taxed alot yes but in this contry we don't believe in over taxing our poorer people if you make less then $10,900 a year you don't get taxed at all. plus we have higher minimum wadge here, here in saskatchewan were i'm from min wadge is $9.50

  • I agree that rich people should help the poor. But, I agree with Cavuto in the sense that the government is NOT the outlet to help people. It should be PRIVATE civic organizations and churches that help people, NOT the government.

  • this crazy lady is basically saying she'd rather sacrifice nights with her children so one day she can theoretically afford a Bentley? she said this on T.V. with no shame? and she can't hear how stupid she sounds.

  • I agree with Stein but I think he has some Marxist tendencies which I share.

Isn't Capitalism predicated on social classes? There will always have to be poor, not so poor, doing okay, rich and very rich in the Capitalist system.

All of this is clearly my opinion and not fact.

  • it there's a waiting list for bentleys, i suggest benltley expand their company and create more jobs so those poor people can get some work to make money and become rich....

  • I haven't had health insurance for myself and my family (I have been married for 26 years and still have one child at home.) for over five years.

Would I like to be able to afford health insurance? Sure. But at nearly $900.00 per month, I can't swing it and pay my mortgage. However, I do NOT want any other Americans paying for MY insurance. That's called welfare and I don't want or need it.

  • if there's a waiting list for bentley's that means they need to expand their business and create more jobs to make them faster. that way the poor can become rich, etc

  • If you or someone in your family got seriously sick, you'd both want it and need it. Suddenly welfare would be very welcome in your life.

  • The rich have an obligation to help those less fortunate than themselves, but the government should not be involved in forcing them to do so.

  • Cavuto, Payne and Tracy(who thinks she owes herself a Bentley because she missed time wiht her children?) should be outlawed from any more public speaking.

  • Its not just moral

    The rich owe

Society is set up to protect the property of the rich from the poor.

A revolution that redistributed wealth would be a step up for most of the country.

  • Ben Stein is the man.

  • 47 million without health care... 17 million of them make more the 50k/year, 12 million are illigal immigrants, 8 million already qualify for government run healthcare but haven't filled out the paperwork... Now we are down to 10million people

How many of those people make more than 40k/year or 30k/year?

  • Also...welfare dependence is a problem. What do you do about the people who have children solely to live off of welfare? Plenty of states have welfare-to-work programs that really help rather than hinder work ethics. But I don't think it will destroy work ethics, thats just absurd.

Do the rich exploit the poor? Sure, but its not their fault(some people maybe). But Neils just taking it too personally(typical fox news bias). And who decides what is a fair solution? Good questions raised.

  • Ok 1. Universal health care CAN work...it does very well in other countries. Will it work for us now..no because we can't afford it, unless we adopt new infrastructural and labor policies in this country. First, however, we need EVERYONE to agree that people are entitled to health care.

    2. Both parties are right. The rich want their cash...the poor want healthcare. This is an issue of compassion and moral responsibility. The question is, how can we do both? Compramise on both sides to start

  • Every now and then Ben Stein stops lying and unloads. He tries to compensate for the water he carries for the Bush economy. So glad he decided to dump on the smug right wing liar for hire Neil Cavuto. He unloaded on VP not to be Sarah Palin and I mean it was no mercy. "Fundamentalist backwoods mentality". It was so bad he had to backtrack & say he loves that mentality but like Peggy Noonan the cat was out of the freaking bag.
  • America's healthcare the best?

    LOL

    Someone is parroting popular ignorance.

  • I never thought I would say this but...I salute you Ben Stein.

  • lol Stein is a staunch republican saying this stuff, Cavuto is just your typical greedy republican douche.

  • pred178 said it the best.

THE GOVT DOES NOT EXIST TO WIPE YOURE ASS

  • an oscar shouldn't matter, everyone knows that the Hollywood community is very liberal, of course they will vote for a liberal flick..

  • Its not about increasing the % that is paid in tax - its closing the loopholes for the rich who can afford the a list of CPA's to get them out of paying their fair share.

  • Not all rich are greedy.

  • You are a population of 300,000,000 people. Are you telling me that you can't stand up against your government. Theywork for you, but because of your fear you work for them now!!!

Stand up and fight for a better health care system. Everyday you don't, innocent lives are lost!!!

  • You are a population of 300,000,000 people. Are you telling me that you can't stand up against your government. Theywork for you, but because of your fear you work for them now!!!

Stand up and fight for a better health care system. Everyday you don't, innocent lives are lost!!!

  • That just shows how blind you Americans really are to your own Government and Health Insurance Companies. If Sicko didn't get a message accross to any of you Americans, then you deserve to be getting fucked by the system.

  • Lets compose a smart panel of people talking about the economy and then you throw a random black guy in there. WTF Neil? Save him for a segment on rap music.

  • That movie was a complete lie from start to finish. Nothing about it is true especially about Cubans health care system along with other health care systems around the world. Ours is BY FAR the best.

  • If you have money.

  • funny how the numbers just doesent add up

    with that statement...

  • Yours is by far the best? You obviously know nothing about health care systems of other countries. What happens to a functioning system which turns to Neocapitalism has been experienced in the UK since the days of Maggie Thatcher. Have a look at those of e.g. the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, even Germany. The US system may be the best for you personally, but beside that, its literally non-existing.

  • The hell it is.

We aren't even protected from the abuses there. Do your homework, you have been sold a bill of goods if you believe that!

  • She says she works mulitple nights with out the benefit of being with her children, but she is gonna get enough money for a stupid luxury car, that if smashed would be a hunk of metal! Nice priorities lady.

  • Of all the industrialized countries America pays more per capita on healthcare yet have the briefest life spans. People in Great Britain live an average of three years longer but pay 40 cents on the dollar what we do. Our healthcare system is as nuts as the dupes who support it.

  • Canada and the UK have outstanding health care as well.

  • The World Health Organization ranks the U.S.#37 in health care. You either work for the insurance industry or some way supported by the industry. When the bottom line in health care is profit, the insured will always suffer. The system is broken. BTW even FOX fake news praised this documentary.

  • You mind citing a statistical source that supports your claims our health care system is by the far best in the world?

Or do you just proclaim things you believe to be true?

Considering 90% of the movie is simply Moore interviewing people about their experiences with their health care systems that's a lot of people lying.

So you are claiming all those people lied about their experiences with the health care system?

  • I agree, the American healthcare system is better. Any system that DENIES people the chance to live because they can't afford it, is a beacon for the rest of the world. Lol, & Americans always claim to be moral. That's the best joke i've ever heard.

  • Go ben stein

  • So, Ben Stein hates the theory of evolution AND capitalism. It's the fucking 21st century. Evolution and capitalism rule. Intelligent design and progressive taxation suck.

  • Evolution is out dated and is a lie

  • When all starts are even I agree with you, however, when the American ability to succeed is based on money, then WHITE AMERICAN men have a better change to succeed. Women and minorities have been held back by laws for hundreds of years. It was 80 year ago when women even got the right to vote. Women still make 60% of men in the same career path.

This society was set up to help those who were in power. WHITE MEN

When the balance is set at a fair starting ground, then I will agree with you!

  • National healthcare is unconstitutional end of story. We don't need new healthcare we need to fix the existing one. Anyone who advocates national healthcare should take their ass to the VA hsopital and see how well they get treated. If they treat Americas best like that just imagine how shitty everyone else will get treated plus I don't want to work my ass off just so the government can take half it away to pay for mediocre healthcare. The gov doesn't exist to wipe you're ass people.

  • Forced taxation is unconstitutional.

The wiping of ass you speak of is about controling you. The masses are not here to be exploited and stolen from. This is OUR country.

Turn off the radio and tv and start thinking for yourself. Too many parrots, not enough independent thinkers!

    They are brainwashing us!

  • I have recieved my health care for ten years at a VA hospital in Iowa City and it has been excellent. Much better than I received in the private sector. Socialized medicine works in this case, as it does in Europe.

  • I think anyone who advocates national healthcare should go to a VA hospital and see how they treat you. If that's how they treat Americas bravest just imagine what will happen to the common folk. We don't need a new health care system, what we do need is to fix the existing one ie get rid of all these stupid insurance laws. Plus I want to live in a country were I can work my ass off and make the right moves and have something to show for it, that's what a free country's about right?

  • Despite the interrupting, this was, w/o question, the BEST debate on a series issue that i think i have ever witnessed on tv news.

  • universal health care is idiotic look at EU unemployment rates and inflation rates they will not be able to sustain their system.

  • what does healthcare matter? you all are going to die in the end. no healthcare is going to change that.

  • Well that's uplifting.

  • Are you serious? Healthcare many times over gives us ability to be healed from basic to advanced and complicated illnesses that would result in more pain or death if allowed to run its course. If I get sick, I want access to healthcare because, while it is true I will die ond day, I would like as much time as possible to spend with my husband and our four year. Do you have a family?

  • I would argue that much of the lower class works HARDER than the wealthy. I would rather do engineering work(interesting, fulfilling, nice working conditions) than work in any fast food restaurant for equal pay. I have been fortunate enough to be born with opportunities and surrounded by good influences.

I am sure that most blue collar jobs would drive me to drinking and drugs just due to the monotony and lack of fulfillment and hope for a better tomorrow. These people deserve better!

  • Tax the rich 50% just to teach them the price of greed.

  • The rich are greedy bastards? How does someone get to be worth millions? Greed? It's not an assumption. It's a fact. Fuck the rich. They deserve to pay more in tax just for complaining about it. Help your fellow man to make up for all the corruption and greed that you chased after your whole life. Poor and Middle class work HARDER than rich people. They got rich under above average circumstances and although they may have worked, it wasn't simply work alone that got them there.

  • on the backs of the people who need of a job!. deceit!" Inside secrets! Appearances, Better education, supportive family. "Make Money, Make More Money, Get others to make money for you".

Watch steins filmed lecture for more info on what he is talking about regarding the top percentile (the richest among us) in this day and age. It is obscene!

  • Right on.

My heart bleeds for the rich every time they go on about "I worked so hard for my £1000000 bonus this year ... I had to reduce my golf hours to just 3 afternoons a week - and now the government wants to take away £400000 so that some paupers can laze about".

Would you like £100000 a year?

I would! No question. I would be happy.

So, if your wages went up to £1000000 and the government slapped a 90% tax on, would you still be happy?

You should be. I simply don't understand the rich.

  • Maybe Stein understands the dangers that arise out of acute differences between wealthy few and poor masses.

    ever heard of a guillotine?

  • Thank you for your insightful comment Karl Marx

  • ..BEN STEIN (who I do not really like) IS ON THE "MONEY" ON THIS (SORRY ABOUT THE PUN)... THE GAP BETWEEN THE HAVE-NOTS AND THE HAVE-ALOTS KEEPS GROWING AND GROWING...ITS THE GREED OF THE IDLE RICH THAT IS KILLING THIS COUNTRY... YOU CAN"T TAKE IT WITH YOU...I'VE NEVER SEEN A U-HAUL BEHIND A HEARSE...MACAIN WILL KEEP THAT STATUS QUO ...THAT THE OIL COMPANIES GIVE 80 % OF CAMPAIGN DONATIONS TO REPUBLICANS IS VERY REVEALING ...(btw nick cavuto's anti-semetic "OY" at the end is very telling)

  • Right on!...and there's more and more I am finding out every day.

How many of them had three jobs. How many of them do their own house cleaning or repairs.

or paid for their own education for that matter.

How many pulled themselves up by their own bootstraps as used to be possible in this country, but no longer is. Its about connections and slight of hand and fooling the masses.

The oil connection is so obvious!

    So is the power connection.

  • Yay Ben Stein.

  • Ben Stein is full of win.

  • I like Ben Stein little more now

  • This is why we need the Fairtax.

  • Stein is a tool of the neocons. Most of whom would'nt associate with him because he's not "one of them".

  • Tax the rich help the poor

The poor suffer while the rich get richer
