  • What a bloody depressing story, this was it was rubbish in billions of ways and not worth making.

  • @rojblake82 Well it's much better than that overrated The Power of the Daleks.

  • Awsome great work.

  • could i use this for my doctor who youtube series,i'll giv you credit for it

  • @BradamAllibourke

yea sure (sorry response took a while)!

  • could Use this, i'll give full credit

  • lookse alwsome

  • the beam is quite wide, don't you think

  • Haha In episode two of the first dalek serial the survivors Ian is shot and does a similar skeleton affect in 1963

  • you mean the negative affect

  • i love the music at 0:14

it sounds very scary and alien!

  • i know this is one of my fave episodes ever

  • Can't really see any difference compared with the original, except the fireball has changed into a beam...

  • The Dalek eye shot is blue and has the bulbous centre and I think on Remembrance of the Daleks, there was a halo around anything they exterminated.

Are you sure the "CGI effects" option on your DVD is switched to "off"?

  • I just had an idea.

Can you make the beem disintegrate the soldier.

Like, the mans body turns to particals, then diseminates into nothing as it spreads out.

    So, what do u think?

  • I don't think that would be possible. For that you'd need footage of that camera shot with no soldiers - unfortunately this was recorded in 1988 and that footage doesn't exist anymore.

  • Or you could possibly use some sort of software to mask and remove the soldier out of the scene but that would probably be frame-by-frame and very time-consuming.

  • wouldnt that be hard to do

  • how did you do that?

  • the original was pretty similar, wasn't it? not quite the same, but it did have the sort of skeletal thing

  • yeah - i used to think it was a cartoon sketch but if you freeze it on the dvd its actually a nice looking 3 dimensional form. It was too quick to notice

  • yeah

  • That was excellently done, and the perfect clip to use as well; the intense beam plus the momentum of the stunt shot makes the extermination look utterly lethal in a way it seldom ever has in the series.

  • Reviewing this clip the dalek is actualy looking threw the shed walls, like x-ray vision and thermal cameras. Have you ever thought that the dalek might have more settings to his eye peace. Just like the Predator going threw his visual setings in Predator 2.

  • wouldnt it be cool if they remastered some of the old episodes, like they done with star trek tos

  • They have..

  • Meh, nice, could've run smoother though.

  • sweet fx :o..

  • its good for fun ,but it doesent need changeing because the original is already exellent !

  • EXTERMINATE!!!

  • prefer the original. but it does look good.

  • I agree, the Dalek death ray sounds were better in the original version as was the ray itself, which was more like a bolt, rather than a beam.

  • Awesome , 10/10 .

Cheers , Jason [ Doctor Who One ]

  • great. a good thing to do is make the dalek eye shots like the new series ones, that would be a challenge. well done

  • i number 1 dr who fan

and i think that was ok and np's

try haveing the lazer red! call it New Series Extermination Style 2

  • best ray was this one by the grey daleks then the one that was slightly different in resurection of the daleks .this ones like a bullet ray the other a beam the worst was the 1st ones with it just going negative and back and the spray ones were a bit crap but alright

  • Good skeleton effect but the negative reverse was lame.

  • Just my opinion

  • I like the old sound fx better but love the ray!!

  • I already have. looked a bit naff.

  • @Birdieupon Hey can you make a tutorial about this?

  • Dalek Ray was way too thick and you need to push the background hue more into the blue. The one in the series isn't just negative.

  • Yea you're right man. Definitely too thick. I gave it a bit of a blue nudge but I find they tned to bolden it at the same time. Sucks that they're dropped the negative altogether now! :-(

  • WOW! 5*****'S

  • That is so cool

  • i would leave a comment about how perfect this story is, but i've just spent half an hour getting all Barry Norman over revelation.

  • AMAZING! What do you use for these? Oh and could you do a "Talons of Weing-Chaing"(spelling) next time trailer?

  • I exported the individual frames and drew on them using Paintshop Pro 10.

  • thanks! Any chance of the Talons of Weing Chaing next time trailer?

  • Not likely. Don't own it or know it. There is a dalek one coming very soon though...

  • YAY! MORE DALEKS! You can buy it on dvd.

  • You've done a fantastic job here! Have you ever considered doing 'extra effects' for a whole story (wouldn't have to be every effect replaced, just, say, exterminations for example, like this). I've personally always wanted to add laser blasts to 'Resurrection of the Daleks'...

  • Definitely! I hate how Resurrection has such an epic warehouse battle yet so many lasers are missing. I am tempted to do more of these. Shall have to wait and see...

  • Do the whole episode!!! lol

  • You've done very well with that. :)

  • tis is superb! i wish they could go back n rerelease the dvd with some cgi extras like tis! could make the epsiode look fantastic!

  • Thanks for all the feedback guys. Wouldn't hurt to maybe use a few more words though lol. ;-)

  • UNDERDOG2012

    FANTASTIC!

  • wow

  • brilliant

  • It looks so cool!

  • Superb!

  • i like :)

  • Neat

  • Very clever!

  • cool
