  • Your bridge pickup doesn't look stock. Dimarzio?

  • @Gandalf90125 No they are not stock..I am A DiMarzio endorsee, so yes DiMarzio's all the way..this was a custom built guitar, made for my by Musicman, and Includes the DiMarzio Area single coils, and a Fast Track 1 I believe in the bridge..you can contact DiMarzio from their site, and they will be able to give more info on the pickups..all the best Jamie Humphries

  • Hi everyone please checkout my new website All the best Jamie Humphries

  • Lot of emotion in this song! Great stuffs! And whoever the asshole that gave it a thumbsdown is a bonehead.

  • Lot of emotion in this song! Great stuffs!

  • Resembles Satriani's tone. Amazing stuff. What type of guitar is this?

  • @leebliss Its a custom built Musicman Silhouette Special, with DiMarzio Area single coils in the middle and neck, and a DiMarzio Fast Track Rail in the Bridge...For this performance I rran a Blackstar HT Boost pedal, direct into the front of the HT5..I used a mild overdrive, so I can clean it up, and keep it dynamic, then added the pedal for extra gain when needed..Jamie Humphries

  • @leebliss Id say its more like Petrucci tone :)

  • lovely

  • I like this tune - A LOT

  • Hi 29396...no ur not blind haha...The cab is acctually a speaker coffin in the other part of my studio...its like a isolation box with a vintage 30 in it and a Shure SM57...I am about to have a booth built so I can use regular cabs and more that one mic..Jamie

  • ok thanks, just makin sure ;P

  • Love the arpeggios at 1:30!! :D

  • Hi Jamie, I was wondering, what cab are you using? Because I don't see one, maybe I'm blind lol.

Anyway, love the good work, and keep rocking! ;)

  • Wow, Amazing! I can just feel some bits of Hendrix style in the song. Very catchy song. Keep rockin' dude!

P.S: I would love to see your own Lick Library DVD with your songs. I am into the Metallica stuff but music that you make is awesome! :D

  • Hi Jamie, I posted 2 short video's for you in the video response! Using what I call my Humphries guitar lol, Sorry about the poor sound quality my fone isnt that good and only records for about 30 seconds.. but thats all your getting of the song as I aint got fast fingers like you hahaha!

    Chris

  • Wow this is great stuff dude. Are you using the direct lineout on the HT5? Real smooth tone!

  • I can't get over your fingers at 3:27 I think I can make out smoke, haha!

If you had 2 extra fingers on that hand you'd be dangerous!

  • Hi Jamie,

Just to tell ya´how I admire you as a guitar player, man! You´re so versatile, and at the same time you got your own identity as a guitar player... kudos for that!

BTW; I´m always searching how to achieve the best guitar tone for PC recording... any clue to share with us please?

(I mean, which would be your virtual amp choice to record directly to PC with the most tube amp-alike tone?

Thanks in advance 4 your feedback and... keep it rocking dude!

  • Great stuff as usual :-)

  • the mirror axis with the fret lights? lol..

and i wicked album it is!

Jay I saw a ht5 in PMT Romford ;o) looks great and if you got one (sounds great) I want one they go cheap and cheerful at £219, it would be a great partner for my laney head!

  • Hi 101bara...this is one of my own tunes LOL!!...I wrote it over 10 years ago...it first appeared on the 4 track EP Introducing, which feature myself and Guthrie Govan...I then remixed it, the bass was re-recorded and a few pretty production things added, and it can be found on my new collaboration album J The Project, with my best friend/music partner Jason Campbell...its half instrumental and half vocal...Jamie

  • Good Job, who was it originally by?

  • But to tell you the truth I was chatting to my friend, Rick Lowe from Sounds Great in Manchester, who handles my live gear for me, and we have been discussing using just 3 HT5 heads...wet either side, dry in the middle...I use in ear monitoring so on stage volume is not an issue...I just love these little heads...we shall see..Jamie

  • Just spotted another question..sorry supersid, missed that one...well at this time I have just been doing mainly studio work so have been using the HT5...I used the Artisan 30 Blackstar hand wired combo when I did the Champions of Rock shows in Sweden in January...I shall be using Blackstar in my touring rig when I hit the road with Floyd again later in ther year...I am unsure what I shall be using...I was considering using a couple of Artisan 30 heads...but I have yet to use series one yet.

  • well it certainly aint for my pony tail haha lol!!...No..its use as a string mute...if I am doing tapping where i am using lots of lft hand hammer ons its to cut down on string noise as both hands are on the neck and muting is harder to achieve...I push it back past the nut when its not in use..as it wasnt needed on this track..cheers Jamie..

  • this hair band on your guitar neck,

ive seen guthrie do the same but he has hair haha!

does it help with the tremelo?

  • Hey guys...I keep getting alot of questions about this...yes..I am now officially a Blackstar Endorsee...The HT5 is a killer amp..I have been using it on all my sessions of late...and thats what I used for this performance of Ceremony...The Blackstar pedals are great too..I added a little boost with the HT valve drive pedal..delay was added when I mixed the performance with the backing track...I was out in Sweden in Jan on the Champions of Rock show using an Artisan 30 combo..Killer gear..Jamie

  • do you no longer use the cornfords in your live rig? :o(

  • it looks like a ht5 doesn't it! If its the mini size one there very reasonable priced!

  • hey is that a ht5 head? are you using anything else? once again serious playing ! ! ! love it

  • such feeling ! ! ! legend

  • YAY a new one!

One of my fav solo's is the one in Armchair ..but you will have to sing along haha!

  • Hey guys...thanks so much for your comments on this tune...I will try and film another this weekend...Jamie

  • yeah for me too.....the melody just wont leave my head....i guess its a good thing.

  • This is the seventh time I watch this video.

    Great guitar playing.

    Cheers!!!!.

  • Hey guys...i think I have an FS1 in the bridge...and an area 50 and 60 something in the mid and neck..haha!! not too good at remembering these things...Steve Blutcher at DiMarzio matched the pickups for me when the guitar was built for my first Aussie Floyd tour...once again...thanks for all the great comments..cheers Jamie

  • Hi Everyone...wow...I cant thankyou all enough for the comments about this tune...I wrote it about 10 years ago...Its taken from my debut album with my music partner/best friend Jason Campbell on bass and vocals...Its a mixture of instrumental rock/fusion and Kings X/Jelly Jam inspired vocal tracks...Drums are Pete Riley from Guthrie Govans Erotic Cakes, and includes guest solos from Richie Kotzen and Phil Hilborne...will put more info on my channel, and upload more videos soon...Jamie H
