Duke won! This was the best National championship game ever. The battle of the 2 private universities. 2 similar coaches, one 30 years younger, 2 similar teams with heart and hustle. Both teams were in the top 10 all season. Won their seasons, conference championship, and all the way through to the championship game. I was at the Final 4. This was the Game for all ages, thus far. At Lucas Oil Stadium, there were about 7000 Duke fans, and 70000 Butler (Indiana) fans.
No lie....Both teams were so evenly matched....It was such a great game...I mean you can't say anything bad about any team....The greatest game possibly played.
Congratulations to the DUKE BLUE DEVILS on the fact that they barely won by a few inches if the ball was a lil to the left it would have went in but no go so i'm gonna peace out so laters Blue Devils #1 NCAA CHAMPS

In the end when people look back at this decade all they're going to see is that UNC won 2, Duke won 2, Florida won 2, Maryland won 1, Michigan State won 1, and Syracuse won 1. Duke has the best team money can buy. The should have won by 50! They should be absolutely ashamed! Their coach makes twice as much as Butler's entire basketball program!! He should give half of it back after letting a "nobody" team come that close!
Duke University should also be ashamed...that they pay a basketball coach 15-20 times more than their top scholars, that they allow the basketball program to spend over $100,000,000 a year. Ridiculous!

you are forgetting another important fact for the entire decade that just ended duke finished number one witht he most wins of the deacde 195 thats the most of any team in the country thats why duke was the best for the decade as well as the best from 30 years to the present.

I would've loved to see Butler win.. on top of the fact that it's a good "story", these kids worked their butts off to get where they got, and they proved that small schools, "unknowns", are capable. but great job to Duke. they deserved it.
it would have been a better story if butler won. shot if Butler one, it could have turned into a movie.
