@moderjoker Yes, the photos are of real ice crystals which form in random shapes. One bottle of water produces a lot more than just 1 ice crystal per bottle. Please look up something called "confirmation bias" to see why it is highly unlikely that the photos being real has any bearing on the subject whatsoever.
You can do the same experiment and get different shaped crystals than he got. Every single time. Look hard enough in any bottle and find similar ice crystals to all the others.

my friend said he actually tried the same exact thing, when he taped "water is beautiful" it made this perfect, snowflake crystal (he has a VERY good microscope) and when he taped "Water is the ugliest thing in the world" it looked like some sheet ice, with no form at all.

You can improve your own health. Like the video states positive thoughts changes in water. Simply think or say out loud love and gratitude continuously. I suggest starting doing it for 5 minutes to start and work you way up to 1 hr on some days. Regularly doing this daily should improve your health, provided you don't have negative thoughts.

It's common sense that positive thoughts have a powerful healing effect on our thoughts, bodies, the earth and each other. So why wouldn't it have the same effect on water. Science has proven this. From what I've found, Emoto merely selected the most influential pictures to show as the study and has thus been criticized for that. Also I don't understand how words can impact water (i've already argued with a friend over the metaphysical mental waves from feelings and emotions impacting the freezing; he couldn't find an answer to the words.)

Emoto's study is non-repeatable and not performed in a proper double blind fashion, ergo hoax. Or at least bad science, with some lucky results, namely the look of the "I kill you" water.

Masuru's experiments can be a complete hoax and that in itself would not disprove the benefits of positive thinking. It simply means that Masauru failed to prove that positive thinking can affect the shape of ice crystals.
this seems like a load of crap to me. It is my understanding that when water freezes into water crystals they do not from the same way. That is why they say no two snow flakes are the same. So even if you freeze the water in the same way, they each crystal would be different. now if it was done over and over again and the water formed the same crystal each time or all the crystals were the same for each type of water that would be something.

Science tends to take place where it can get funding. If the only people funding research are pharmaceutical companies, then those people are going to have the benefits of new technology.
There are lots of things science does to make people lives easier, but it's a very difficult market to try to make a useful product if the people with the ability to financially back the project are unwilling.
I am going to personally conduct a scientific experiment like this, and i'm pretty sure when i am done, the structural properties will be the exact same.
If they are not, i am about to make a huge scientific breakthrough, so keep your fingers crossed. (the thoughts will telepathically change the experiment so keep them positive.)
The guy really did take pictures of water. That's a given. However, I debate your usage of the phrase "scientific experiment." The publishers in Japan didn't even want to publish his book because of the pseudoscientific approach masuru emoto took.
He's also a large reason behind the 'structured water' movement. Which, btw, is a really expensive way to drink plain water.
So, they added color to the pictures for effect? To me, this doesn't help. Another thing is I want to see a batch of pictures from a dbl blind type experiment. This way I can judge for myself the percentage of effected water samples. Otherwise I don't know if they cherry picked the images.
They did a supposedly double-blind experiment, I have the paper. It's pretty shoddy, it contains some pretty bad science (wrapping the bottles in bubble-wrap and aluminium foil to protect the water from electro-magnetic radiation and shock, for example)...

You are correct. But it is my opinion, if this experiment is true, that it is not the words that create beauty but rather the feelings of the person using the word. For example, perhaps if a person who absolutely cant stand the word love for reasons unknown were to mutter the prayers of love to the test water, it may not be beautiful because the thought of love doesn't bring beautiful images to their mind. Well, these experiments, from what I've heard, seemed to be pretty scientific. Control groups, well-documented observations. All that really needs to happen is to repeat the tests several times, and take some statistics. This is actually really cool, I hope someone does do more with it.

Obviously having a positive life outlook will make you more open to opportunity when it presents itself. However- there is no evidence that these experiments are valid. They have yet to be replicated. The fact that he supposedly photographed differences in structure means nothing. These were not controled experiments. I'd be interested to see these experiments replicated but until then, I remain skeptical.

You can improve your own health. Like the video states positive thoughts changes in water. Simply think or say out loud love and gratitude continuously. I suggest starting doing it for 5 minutes to start and work you way up to 1 hr on some days. Regularly doing this daily should improve your health, provided you don't have negative thoughts.

From what I've found, Emoto merely selected the most influential pictures to show as the study and has thus been criticized for that. Also I don't understand how words can impact water (i've already argued with a friend over the metaphysical mental waves from feelings and emotions impacting the freezing; he couldn't find an answer to the words.)

Emoto's study is non-repeatable and not performed in a proper double blind fashion, ergo hoax. Or at least bad science, with some lucky results, namely the look of the "I kill you" water.
There are many states of ice, ice II sinks in liquid water, while ice I floats

Masuru's experiments can be a complete hoax and that in itself would not disprove the benefits of positive thinking. It simply means that Masauru failed to prove that positive thinking can affect the shape of ice crystals.

this seems like a load of crap to me. It is my understanding that when water freezes into water crystals they do not from the same way. That is why they say no two snow flakes are the same. So even if you freeze the water in the same way, they each crystal would be different. now if it was done over and over again and the water formed the same crystal each time or all the crystals were the same for each type of water that would be something.

Science tends to take place where it can get funding. If the only people funding research are pharmaceutical companies, then those people are going to have the benefits of new technology.
There are lots of things science does to make people lives easier, but it's a very difficult market to try to make a useful product if the people with the ability to financially back the project are unwilling.

The guy really did take pictures of water. That's a given. However, I debate your usage of the phrase "scientific experiment." The publishers in Japan didn't even want to publish his book because of the pseudoscientific approach masuru emoto took.
He's also a large reason behind the 'structured water' movement. Which, btw, is a really expensive way to drink plain water.

So, they added color to the pictures for effect? To me, this doesn't help. Another thing is I want to see a batch of pictures from a dbl blind type experiment. This way I can judge for myself the percentage of effected water samples. Otherwise I don't know if they cherry picked the images.

They did a supposedly double-blind experiment, I have the paper. It's pretty shoddy, it contains some pretty bad science (wrapping the bottles in bubble-wrap and aluminium foil to protect the water from electro-magnetic radiation and shock, for example)...
Every time new-agers produce some claim, we are expected to thoroughly rebut it. This takes time and effort, and we (rational thinkers) should not be held responsible for the whim of any new-age guru making a magical claim.

'The Journal of Science and Healing' is not a scientific journal, it is an alternative medicine journal. It is peer-reviewed, yes, but it's chief editor is Dead Radin, who is primarily a researcher in the field of 'Telekinesis'.
There is a difference between a peer-reviewed _scientific_ journal, and an 'alternative medicine' journal. The research he presents in that paper is hardly scientific... I need to sleep now, but an article in that journal does not imply any scientific evidence. BBL.

You seem to be basing your argument off the old razor: "extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof". The fact is that what is extraordinary is a value judgment & has nothing to do with science. A hypothesis is testable. It works as long as it handles data as soon as it ceases to do so, it requires modification. That's all.
Peer-reviewed studies add a degree of reliability, no more no less. I suggest reading the paper. If the results aren't fabricated it was a well constructed test.

No, I'm not saying that at all, and I certainly don't want this to turn into a pointless existential mud-slinging match(!)...
But I am saying that the idea of peer-reviewing papers only counts as long as the scientific method is adhered to by all involved, and the paper is assessed in a critical manner, regardless of belief. If this wasn't the case, then we could have peer-reviewed religious journals, which state an Abrahamic god's presence as fact, or any number of other beliefs!

I'd simply like to see another organization attempt to duplicate the results as found in the the double-blind test put together by Radin. If the results are similar, then there would be enough evidence to suggest this is more than hocus-pocus. You are correct. But it is my opinion, if this experiment is true, that it is not the words that create beauty but rather the feelings of the person using the word. For example, perhaps if a person who absolutely cant stand the word love for reasons unknown were to mutter the prayers of love to the test water, it may not be beautiful because the thought of love doesn't bring beautiful images to their mind. In other words, results may vary.

Everything has to be perfect to survive. God if anything would be ur conscious and heaven and hell is wil be like dreams or nightmares. If you really believe all the mumbo jumbo from the bible than your naive. Christinaity was established to keep order and peace while giving hope to live on.Its a big fraud and the bible was written to be a book of morals and ethics. God is the sun but ppl blew it out of proportion and gave it a form. Everyday science proves the bible wrong. god can be advanced

The actress Marlee Matlin is deaf. Perhaps the character she plays is also deaf and that is why she isn't scoffing at the bullshit that is being said. Her character is merely curious about the interesting pictures.
Hell. Maybe they didn't even give her a genuine copy of the script. Maybe director just told her to act fascinated and full of wonder.

I believe it all because how doctors can prove our healing results to positive outlook. I have been healed three times, so no one can tell me that the mind has no effect on a situation or matter.
Those who don't believe are missing out on what they can do through their mind alone.
Until you have faith for something and it comes to pass, you will not know that power of your thoughts.

there are millions of ice particles and all are unique. some are going to be ugly and some are not.
if you could prove prayer made the pretty ones pretty, through the scientific method, than this would be science and not science fiction.

Well, these experiments, from what I've heard, seemed to be pretty scientific. Control groups, well-documented observations. All that really needs to happen is to repeat the tests several times, and take some statistics. This is actually really cool, I hope someone does do more with it.
