My Indian friend just send this to me. I thought it was a shave cream or something until I read everyone's reviews. I had heard about skin lightening in India but didn't know it was so widely advertised. I'm really surprised
It sucks how in order to advertise these skin-bleaching products, they have to put down people with darker complexions. There's nothing wrong with the skin that you're born with. This also goes for fair skinned people lying under the sun and in solariums who are DYING for a tan.
Oh my goosh! what did long-haired guy do to himself?! Shoot, he should have left that skin-lightening cream alone. I mean, when he was dark, he actually looked kind of cute. Now, he just looks so ugly!! :(
They sure have a problem in India with their complex lighter skinned is better..when you're lighter skinned you can become a moviestar ( in bollywood) If you look at Bollywood it actually does work that way as it seems Damn, :s strange folks
i don't understand you guys. i mean bleaching is as bad as tanning. why want to change your skin colour? most people lay in the sun to get browner and others bleach themselves. people always want to be what they are not
You people shouldn't be too shocked. How about tanning for white people? Is wanting to be darker not as shocking as wanting to be lighter? It's all the same: The drive towards what's perceived to be ideal beauty.
Not all white people tan or want to. Where as in India it's considered by the masses that fairer skin is better and people will do ridiculous things to achieve a fair complexion. It's shocking that in countries where the strong majority are of darker skin that they can't accept their skin tone & embrace it as beautiful.
india has a serious self-image problem, in order to be a bollywood star you have to have that western fair complexion, god forbid you look like the weatherbeaten hardworking, sun darkened field and farm workers in india. everyone knows they don't want to look like the sun hasn't touched them. seriously i think thier losers, and eventually they'll get old and ugly, wonder if they'll still feel the same.
OMFG! This is the whackest commercial I've seen in a long time. glorified self-loathing literally to the "extreme!!!" you gotta love it. If only I had less melonin... THEN I could be the superstar! hahaha
These ads are making me nauseous.

This commercial is really sad. Women bleaching their skin is bad enough, but for a man to do it? It is just pathetic.

This is strange. Has white skin always been sought by Indians? Even before the colonial era?
