  • ...You know the Patriots used to be called the "Boston Patriots" and there were still fans who came from all over New England to seem them play, right?

  • WAAAAAY too many canadian teams... There should be a team in oregon or washington or ALASKA before there should be 9 teams in canada or whatever you had

  • Islanders aren't going anywhere beyond Brooklyn, the fan base on Long Island as a whole is big enough to keep them there, plus they're already set to play preseason in the New Barclays Center so its more then likely they're going there

  • I agree that canada should have more teams in the nhl however your choosing teams that have no business leaving .... The coyotes YES .... Atlanta ALREADY GONE ...... Nashville NO and Tampa NO. You have to look at home attendance and how a team is being supported Dallas is struggling to get fans now as texas isnt big into hockey in my opinion The Coyotes to either a surrounding place in the GTA like how new york has two teams .... maybe in Hamilton or In Quebec City.

  • Lightning to quebec , your nuts dude the city does not want to watch a hockey game , maybe im wrong but even when they had a solid young team they moved to Colorado. Coyotes should have been shipped back to winnipeg , thrashers should have went to Hartford.

  • Why does Florida not need two teams, but California can have three?

  • Oh and of course I support moving Phoenix just to let that of there.

  • Move Columbus! Why do they have a NHL team in the first place? If you want a team in Ohio place it in Cleveland. Plus Columbus has Ohio State hockey anyway. Anaheim too I think and Islanders gotta go too. That's what I would do.

  • You're so stupid. Please learn things.

  • You did 4 teams in 9:01 minutes...

  • go smashville ! we are the best team in the south dumbass !

  • Move Phoenix to Quebec.

    Done.

  • I am from Saskatoon as well and I agree. Here is my list as of current Feb 2012

    Phoenix to Saskatoon

    Tampa to Hamilton

    Ducks to Seattle

    Nashville to Quebec City

    Carolina to Halifax

Just my two cents... BTW GO RIDERS GO!

  • WOW!!!!! You must have been high!!!! or in Canada! Come down to Smashville (Nashville) for a game, it is themost intense enviroment i have ever seen!!! and i went to Detroit for a game. This is 9 minutes of my life that i will NEVER get back......THANKS!!!

  • @42141catsfan Nashville's pretty good, but it's not even close to Montreal when it comes to intensity IMO.

  • Islanders, Panthers and Blue Jackets should move to Milwaukee, Seattle and maybe Portland

  • also is anyone annoyed that he didn't move columbus blue jackets?

  • new york area has wayyy too many teams. Also I think that predators should stay and also seattle should get a team. I don't want to offend but I think devils should got moved to seattle after denver and kansas city

  • people dont care about hockey in nashville??? sounds like you need to either educate yourself or make a visit

  • lets just add 10 teams to the league and create more opportunities to make it to the show!!!!!!

  • when i watched this video I noticed that the NHL logo looks a lot like North America's map and seeing how the NHL is only played in North America they should change it to the North America's map

  • you shoulda left nashville, put florida in seattle, and the islanders to vegas

  • @zxACEzx he said he was from Saskatoon in the beginning of the video

  • Prince Albert? LMAO! Those poor people!

  • you are the stupidest person to ever call themselves a hockey fan

  • are you rooting for the jets now?

  • hey can you talk any fucking slower you uneducated fucking idiot

  • As soon as you said "move the phoenix coyotes" i disliked and stopped watching.

  • @kvnftzsmmns **"im not the biggest or an avid hockey fan" i disliked and stopped watching

  • @mbuckley20 haha thank you.

  • @kvnftzsmmns They are hemorrhaging money and are league owned. They are continually at the bottom of attendance figures. They will move. It's just a matter of when.

  • nashville does not need to be moved, they have a great following in nashville

  • ur obviously from canada

  • the thrashers moved to winnipeg over the summer hopefully other teams will follow to more loyaler fan bases where the game is loved

  • There are so many things wrong with this and it's clear that you aren't an avid NHL fan. Florida should have one hockey team, so the solution is to move Tampa and not the Panthers? Not to mention the only thing you want to do is move American teams to Canada. And Halifax. "They'd be willing to make the distance." And you sound like Bill Haverchuk from Freaks and Geeks.

  • winnipeg? so your saying take the preds out of nashville which has a huge fan base and take them to a place that even you say might be able to support a team haha

  • Ummmmmmmmm...... Ummmmmmmmmm......let's see here, where are we?

  • you're an idiot

  • jasonscfr, I think your intentions are good but now that Winnipeg got their team back, I dont think that besides Quebec city, another canadian city could support a NHL team. If Quebec gets in next, she and Winnipeg will be the 2 smallest markets in the league. Metropolitan Saskatoon is under 300000 pop. while Halifax in under 400000. On the other hand you're right, with both a new arena, they would do better than lots of teams in the southern US.

  • man i am from San Diego and i love hockey. I am an avid Ducks fan so we Americans love hockey.

  • what the heck is a saskatoon?

  • @TheLegacyGaming1 its a city in Saskatchawen which is a province in Canada

  • Sastatoon? That would fail faster then the Thrashers in the playoffs

  • nice winni has a team

  • The only Sunbelt States to have NHL teams are CA, TX, FL b/c of its high populations. Move Phoenix to Houston. But have NHL teams in the Northern US Cities: Indianapolis, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Salt Lake City due to its cold climates. No offense, but New Foundland, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan can't support NHL teams reason its low populations & corporate industries. We'll see how far the Jets stay in Winnipeg, MB aka Oklahoma City, OK of the Great White North. LMAO!

  • @chillinmc You misspelled Newfoundland. I agree with you about Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia, and you're probably right about Saskatchewan. KC's had a team before, and considering how popular hockey isn't in Kansas (at least in my experience) I'm not sure they'd support a team, and Missouri has a team already, could they support 2? I have no real knowledge of the other cities, although I didn't realise Salt Lake City was north lol.

  • @ser132, FYI, KC built a high-tech modern sports arena called, the Sprint Center. They're trying to lure both NBA & NHL teams to relocate there. KC is a growing city. I know KC had both an NBA & NHL teams, but times have changed. KC market can attract W. MO, KS, & NE regions. My bad for me to misspell Newfoundland. Well I wrote SLC as a North US city due to its cold climate. LOL!

  • @chillinmc Cool. I didn't know about the arena. There's always the chance that hockey can grow in popularity if Kansas/KC got an NHL team. Or it might be more popular now, it's been 10 years since I was there.

  • no hartford love here?

  • If you are gonna move one of the florida teams, move the Panthers not the Lightning. The Lightning have at least some fan base and won a cup. Floridas history is a laughing stock plus they are practically in Miami...I think LeBron James and friends (Heat) the Dolphins NASCAR College Football and hell even the *Dare I say it* Miami Marlins are probably more liked then them despite their terrible attendance...again...they got a history at least.

  • canada could support all 30 nhl teams x2

  • Hey lifeofdead444, Hartford only has an AHL team, which I mentioned in my post. I also mentioned that former Hartford Whaler owner, Howard Baldwin, bought the team last year and re-branded them the Connecticut Whale. I went on to say how much Baldwin has been promoting hockey in Connecticut with his local news interviews and two outdoor hockey events last year.

  • i think the panthers should be gone

  • fu**ing canadien

  • @adaluing why you insult canada alike it ??

  • Saskatoon is a really poor choice for an NHL team right now. Howard Baldwin has been doing more work to bring an NHL team to Hartford than anyone else has in any other market. He is frequently on the Connecticut local news talking about hs NHL plans for Hartford. Notwithstanding, the Hartford Whalers brand is currently the 11th most popular brand sold at the NHL store in Manhatten, and Whalers merchandise is sold at many stores in malls here in Connecticut.

  • @vinland06 thats true but they already have a hockey team

  • Despite all the teams in the northeast, Hartford should be the next city that gets a team. Howard Baldwin, former owner of the Whalers, has been doing so much over the last two years to garner support in Connecticut, and already has the governor onboard. Baldwin bought the Hartford Wolfpack and re-branded them the Connecticut Whale, and then had an outdoor hockey event at Rentschler Field in W. Hartford, which drew 30,000 fans on the coldest day in State history.

  • Theres a mistake in this map, no capitals

  • im going to assume you've never been to tampa before and are speaking out of your ass about the fans not liking hockey... stereotypical canadian

  • wow moving tampa? your an idiot they always competitive always sell out their games. if any team in florida would move it would be the panthers in miami no one is south florida watches hockey unlike tampa they have a huge following... also all of florida would root for florida? are you kidding... tampa is a like a 6 hour drive to miami nobody would drive to miami to watch the panthers.

  • thumbs if you reside in the u.s and never once knew of a place called maretimes until this video.

  • @MTR019 dude, all americans are fucking dumb, get any Canadian and they know pretty much everything about usa....

  • @jibbermasterstreet yea cuz they envy us

  • I'd switch the 2 Florida teams since TB is not that far removed from winning a cup. but i like the effort

  • NHL in Saskatchewan would kick ass, although it will (probably) never happen.

  • @UTF no, to little people

  • Milwaukee needs to get a team. I know there r various factors that need to go right but we have great turn outs for Admirals games (Admirals r the top affiliate to the Predators) I think Milwaukee would really embrace a team

  • wish wisconsin had a team...

  • Saskatoon should get an ahl team

  • @Stevepirate19 I disagree. Although an AHL team is regarded more more elite than a WHL team, I don't think Saskatoon would give up the Saskatoon Blades for another junior team. If Saskatoon had an NHL team labeled under the Saskatchewan province than the Saskatoon Blades could stay, or maybe the Saskatoon Blades could turn into the Corman Park District Blades. This would be a great idea in my opinion. Could still use Credit Union Centre. Just a thought.

  • This is the worst re-location theory I've seen/read/heard. Do your homework on the teams you are moving and make an educated opinion rather than "Teams in the sun belt don't work"

  • I won't dislike the video and trash it because it was a good watch and all, but if you don't watch hockey I can understand how you wouldn't know how much Nashville supports the Predators. I'm not being biased, but Nashville would be the last team in the south to move. We have higher attendance and a higher average ticket price than big cities such as St Louis and Los Angeles. Probably should have researched more but good watch nonetheless.

  • Comment removed

  • I sorta agree but not even close to 100% u moved them to the right places but the wrong franchises moved. Florida should of moved instead of Tampa Bay and Columbus should have moved instead of Nashville, and U didn't mention the isles moving, they should. They should move to another huge market called Toronto they deserve another team jus like new york has two teams in almost every sport.

  • @MrAhil97 I doubt another team in Toronto would ever work, they are all already Leafs fans, and what Leafs fan is going to change teams?

  • @SJSharksSCC Heey u never kno. When I mean TOronto i Don't mean downtown. It can be Markham, Vaughn, or other places.

  • @MrAhil97 Maybe. It would be interesting if North american sports were set up similar to european sports, with a single city often having more than 2 teams

  • wow you may be border line retarded about the only thing true is "yes you dont know much about hockey"

  • Phoenix LOVES hockey, they won"t move anywhere in the near future! I went to the Coyotes game tonight and hearing the fans cheer on Doan to his first career Hat Trick, the Coyotes will stay!

  • @Cardsgirl13 Phoenix loves the Yotes so much the Coyotes ranked 25th in attendance the last 12 years with the lowest attendance for a single game which was 6,000 and change.

They will find a way to move the team, because no one wants to buy them and keep them in Arizona. It was a stupid idea in the first place and a cruel back handed slap that they came from Winnipeg of all places.

The NHL and Bettman will have to eat crow again, just like with Atlanta.

  • Moving the Lightning instead of the Panthers makes no sense, the Panthers are without question the weaker of the two.

  • @mrceebees14 Do you watch hockey?

The panthers are in like 3rd in the eastern conference.

Lightning I dont believe are in the top eight

  • Comment removed

  • @mrceebees14 Okay asshole

In your comment you said that Florida is obviously the weaker of the two

You should have specified that they were weaker as an organization, and not a team.

And i bet your a fucking Canucks fan

  • @SJSharksSCC No, I am a fan of a team that has actually WON a championship in their past.

I am the asshole because you can't follow the topic? You are a twat, learn to read, don't blame me because you suck, like your team.

  • @mrceebees14 Damn you get worked up easy

3rd place in the conference sucks?

  • @SJSharksSCC For the last time, this has nothing to do with this season stats, it has to do with overall.

Overall the Bolts are by far the better pick.

I hope I don't have to say it for a fourth time, because it's not my fault you are slow at something so simple.

  • @mrceebees14 Christ man

I wsa talking about the sharks being in 3rd place in the conference because you said they sucks

  • @SJSharksSCC Sorry.

3rd place and no cups still sucks.

  • @mrceebees14 yeah conference finals pretty much every year since the lockout is pretty bad.

  • @SJSharksSCC Which makes the Sharks the biggest regular season joke in the history of the NHL. hahaha

  • @mrceebees14 Naw you just like to piss people off.

    So fuck you

    And fuck your precious Canucks

  • @SJSharksSCC I said my team has won a Stanley Cup, actually more then a few. So I can not be a Canucks fan.

Don't worry, the guppies will win it one day...........when hell freezes over that is.

  • @mrceebees14 Well you not telling me what team that is, so the way that you are talking, i can only assume that you are a Cancuks fan.

  • Why in the world is everyone making such a big deal over Jason putting Winnipeg's team Manitoba. There AHL team was called Manitoba and there was talk of the NHL team being called Manitoba. Give the guy some credit at least he did say Winnipeg should get an NHL team. And he did make the video in 2010.

  • why would the nhl want to put a team in halifax ?

  • He is Deffinitly right on moving the yotes, but i thin they should go to seattle or portland.

  • This is pretty fucking stupid. Hey buddy Winnipeg is doing just fine as Winnipeg not Manitoba. And this would never happen they wouldn't move three American teams to Canada when they already have seven team, shut the fuck up understand why no one likes this and "lets move on here"

  • canada doesn't need that much hockey!! the preds wouldn't leave as much as i hate them. the thrashers moved to winnipeg so that should satisfie you. and quebec city didn't have a big enough fan base so they moved to denver

  • Comment removed

  • even though your from saskatoon, just drive to calgary or winnipeg or even up north to edmonton. the coyotes fans never show up so you may have a point. i love your canadian accent

  • This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Nashville draws huge crowds and the lightning just made the the eastern conference finals last year and you want to keep Florida instead of either of those things.

and FYI, Saskatoon will never be getting an NHL franchise so you can just shot that possibility down

  • Phoenix loves hockey more than people think. It's money issues and stuff like that. (I'm from Phoenix, I should know)

  • Halifax does need a team. But if we did get a team we would have to re-locate the mooseheads (QMJHL)

  • Tampa's logo is too far north from their actual location

  • American Markets that need to go

    Florida Panthers

    Phoenix Coyotes

    Canadian Markets that can work

    Hamilton

Toronto? if you can find enough fans to root for a rival leaf team

    American Markets that can work

    Seattle or Portland *not both

Kansas City * inexpensive move, they already have a new arena

  • p.s. Canada has enough NHL teams. With the move to Winnipeg again that makes it 7 in total. No more NHL in Canada please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MeYouView .....lol

  • @MeYouView why are you against Canada having more teams? The whole country is mad about hockey..

  • There are too many times out east. I've always believed that Las Vegas should have had an NHL team. The "Rollers'' sounds like a name that would fit! The L.A. Kings and N.Y. Rangers did play a game there in the early 90's. Don't know why that hasn't happened yet. The great state of Wisconsin has produced many hockey players over the years and yet they don't have a pro team! The NHL must have a "Brain Freeze"!!!!

  • @5:20 I think that uhh...YOU'RE A RETARD

  • if quebec city, a city with over 700 000 people and soon to have a state of the art 18000 seating capacity arena is stuggling to get an nhl team there's no way saskatoon a city barely over 200 000 people is getting a team especially without a viable arena

  • good places for teams but wrong teams to move

  • nashville is one of the best team in the sun belt and just cause your from canada doesnt mean every team should go there

  • Dude, FUCK YOU. The Thrashers should've stayed where they were at bitch!

  • @CostaRicaGoalie YOU stood up for what is right! I LOVE YOU (no homo)!

  • The Thrashers sucked!! all this time lol thats why thy left and bad owers lol!! @CostaRicaGoalie

  • Comment removed

  • here let me do it agian the thrashers did sucked for 11 years they been they big play offs 06 to 07 they lost in the first round and thts it they are garbage and the support they had to let them stay 35 people supported them to stay and they had a huge arena you tell me why they should stayed there o wait the whole team had to much debt and lawsuits!! the owers never cared they are care about them selfs you should shut the fuck up they got a new home NOW! @CostaRicaGoalie

  • Dallas is the most succesful southern team.

  • Hey jackass the NHL isnt going to move teams to different cities their going to changing their divisons

  • the nhl needs no more canadian teams

  • but this video just shows how ignorant you are to hockey

  • also you move the Bolts and Preds, NSH is building a strong fanbase currently, and the Bolts have already done so even in the non-hockey climate of Florida. If your going to move a southern team move the Panthers, and even them I would have stay in FLA, if you had swapped FLA with TB, put ATL in either WPG (where they actually did go) or Seattle where I think a team would thrive on a Vancouver rivalry and the fans in WSH State and Oregon, and kept PHO out of Saskatoon I'd buy your stance

  • Ok, Saskatoon should and will never have a hockey team. That's first and foremost... Secondly, Nova Scotia although a Canadian province has only a handful of NHL players such as Colin White coming out of their area, this should tell you that hockey may not be as huge in the Halifax area as in the rest of Canada so a team will most likely fail there in fanbase especially if it is the Thrashers (or the Jets in the current case).

  • You HAVE the right idea, but your not putting the teams in the right cities, but have selected the right teams.

  • I don't know what you are thinking. Stop smoking weed then making stupid videos.

  • Canadian fan much? YOU THINK A TEAM CAN MAKE MONEY IN A CITY WITH 100,000 PEOPLE? No way! Saskatoon doesn't even have an AHL franchise.

  • @tparaiso601 Which city on the video that is mentioned only has 100,000 people? Saskatoon is around 300,000 metro right now, and is forecasted to grow another 200,000 people in 8 years. Now by saying this, we have to add the growth of the whole province and surrounding cities. I would say that if you want to add in all of these figures the amount of people in Saskatoon and the surrounding areas (1hour radius) passes the population in Winnipeg and/or Quebec City.

  • you really know shit all about hockey

  • are you crazy, have you ever seen a predator game? the fans are loud as crap in that bitch.

  • You left teams other the LA south of St Louis

  • Nashville loves their Predators. They are truly a successful "non-traditional" market...

And really, you have the Lightning moving instead of the Panthers? Dude, the Bolts are actually pretty damn popular when they have a successful on-ice product. They're drawing great numbers this year, and are a lot more popular than the Cats.

  • @pacmanghostx You're an idiot. The Panthers have better fans then the Lightning. We have been in a 10 year playoff slump and still draw a respectable 15,000 a game.

  • @KDK239 How many of the 15,000 are fans of the visiting team?

Hell, my Devils have trouble filling their own arena, and yet there's always a considerable amount of Devils fans scattered throughout the crowd whenever they play in Sunrise? (And what about when the Habs or Flyers visit Florida?)

  • @pacmanghostx Hey moron, if you have ever been to Florida, it is mostly comprised of people from the north; Not many people from Florida are born and raised like myself, and the Panthers have nothing to do with that. And its funny your team with recent success AND a new arena still can't draw SHIT!

  • @KDK239 I'll agree that my Devils have always had problems at the box office, but they've survived in New Jersey for 30 years now, so I'm not really worried...

When the Devils make the playoffs, the Prudential Center is absolutely packed and going ballistic... In the first round.

The Devils have plenty of fans who are scattered all over NJ. I'm sure if Newark was a huge city with over a million people and had a reputation for being safe and clean, the Devils would sellout every game.

  • @pacmanghostx Every team sells out for the playoffs or I would hope so. But with your relatively recent success, I would think the team would be better supported.

  • @pacmanghostx For the last decade, the highest the Preds placed in attendance was 21st. It should be better that that, regardless of it being in a non-traditional market. The NHL is clear that they want to just "make a buck," and could care less where they put a facility, as long as at the end of the day, it's putting money in the leagues pockets, no matter the avenue it comes from.

  • @mrceebees14 True, but they play in a small arena and consistently sell 90 percent of their tickets.

People always fail to take into account arena size when looking at attendance figures. Example: Even if the Devils sold out every home game, they'd still be in the bottom half of the NHL in average attendance as the Prudential Center holds only 17,625.

  • @pacmanghostx I did factor that in.

  • @mrceebees14 Actually the Preds should never be that high. They are only 3 arenas that is smaller than Nashville. Islanders, Jets and Oilers so in a perfect world the Preds should never break into the top 25 in attendance. There overall attendance capacity is over 90%.

  • reall? NSH to Canada?

people in nashville LOVE the Preds

  • Yea ok....lets just call it the Canadian Hockey League. This is asinine dude. Gimme a break

  • ya i know where youre coming from but us americans actually show up for the games. Thats why a place like florida can support two hockey teams.

  • you moved the wrong florida team

  • Many of the cities you've moved cities out of have 5 to 15 times the population to where you moved them too. Its simply a matter of economics. Sure the fans in unrepresented Canada would be strong in their support, but in economic downturns (even a mild one) its just not feasible without taking financial losses, some could be heavy and atop any losses do to other causes. The NHL is after long-term stability which means controlling future risks of teams in markets may barely support them.

  • @KeoniPhoenix Exactly. Like what if 2008 happened again.

  • Why no team to Seattle? The west needs more teams so the travel isn't ridiculous.

  • dude, you're the coolest! yes! we need a team in the maritimes. I live in Fredericton and I'd go to Halifax to see a few games

  • Move Islanders to Quobec City.

  • You're a hypocritical biased fuck .

  • sports in Tampa is pathetic lol i remember when the Rays were giving out 20k free tickets.

  • Maritimes***

  • Why Saskatoon, why not Dog River?

  • i don't know whats more retarded, the concept of this video or the person narrating it

  • i'm tired of everyone moving tampa and not the panthers! i call absolute bullshit on that

  • Wow bro, Move Tampa when more people support them from all over the U.S. more then most of the NHL teams? They have fairly decent attendance. I've been to a few of there games and everytime I've been they were basically sold out. Stamkos, St. Louis, And Vinny helps bring in people all over the U.S. to watch them because alot of people like how they play. Its like with the Caps. There attendance is high because of Ovechkin. So that'd be dumb moving Tampa and not move Florida who hasn't had succes

  • yes! halifax needs a NHL team!

  • this is borderline retarded.... that is all

  • I you have to spend a third of the video rationalizing a move to Saskatoon, it probably shouldn't happen.....

  • no idea what he is even talking about in this video!! Moving Tampa and Nashville?? Probably the 2 best teams in the sun belt? Obviously this guy wants to make the NHL (National Hockey League) into the CHL (Canadian Hockey League) seems like his long term goal that will never happen!!

  • 1. Nashville has big time corporate money, one of the most highly used arena's in the world, and at this point, if they don't make the playoffs, it would be weird... 6 out of the last 7 season's. Granted this video is a year old.

    2. Why would you move a team that won a Stanley Cup in 2004 and fairly dominant team in the east to Canada???

I realize that you're Canadian and want all hockey teams in Canada, but you need to do a little homework because with the right owners, teams work in the south

  • Panthers make more money than the Bolts despite awful attendance and terrible teams.

  • @20CentPat Panthers do not. Bolts make alot more money then gay ass panthers do.

  • @JeremyLightning91 coming from a bolts fan I am not surprised to see an idiotic comment written by one.

  • @JeremyLightning91 Cool. The Panthers nor the Lightning are moving from their cities.

  • out of all the teams in the south, nashville would be one of the last ones to move
