Saw them in Potsdam NY in 1966 and in Syracuse (with James Gang...Joe Walsh!) in 1972. Amazing live. I have all their vinyl, and a precious promo postcard signed by Jean from "Mother's Pride." Hope they play Los Angeles at some point...soon!!!
June and Jean are still slaying. You can sign up for a pre-release copy of their latest CD "Play like a Girl" on Kickstarter and help get this music out to their fans.
Tank god someone has heard of the legendary Fanny because everyone i have spoke to they have never heard of them what a shame blind alley was the first track i have heard and been hook ever since. GO GIRLS GO!!!!
Love it! The video of them doing 'Special Care' is the first thing I ever saw by them, some time in the darkest 80s on a rerun show called 'Best of Beat Club'. I was the only person I knew who noticed them and for years I thought I'd dreamed them, because you couldn't get their stuff even in secondhand record shops and nobody was bringing them out on CD. Then finally, in 2006 or so, Reprise brought out the Fanny boxed set and I realised that I hadn't made them up. They were great.
AMAZING LADIES!!!!!!! I love BLIND ALLEE, so much passion, so much of everything, sexy and shows that girls have the power and the knowledge to be hard rocker, realy musicans - most impressing: ALICE deBUHR on drums. what a pitty that this band wasnt so successfull like it had to be.

I like Fanny - all their work is great. They are the pioneers of female rock that deserve more respect thatn what they've gotten. Not everybody knows much about this band - well they ought to take a listen to this. This is excellent!
I don´t understand why people compare them to the runaways, they are different bands and sounds, the runaways were kidz doing hard rock and roll in a punk/glam scene mostly composed by other teenage kidz, and fanny was a band of grown young adult women playing rock and roll with the blues influence from the 60´s, they even look hippie, It´s offensive to the talent and effort of both bands to compare them or try to dismiss one or the other just because both are all female rock and roll groups

I saw these ladies in 1971 in Denver when they opened for The James Gang...Fifth or sixth row dead center...They completely blew away Joe and the boys...They were MUCH better in a true live performance than in these "live in the studio" videos...|Still thanks for posting this...One of the best bands to never be given credit for how good they were
I'm fan since I bought "Fanny Hill" in Soho in 72. Saw them 1 or 2 years later in Paris. Great memories. For sure Alice and June were hmm hmm with their burning tits, but what's the matter. They were together a GREAT BAND. "Blind alley" is IMHO one of theirs great numbers. It's evidently Nickey's works and she's doing the job. Jean is not at her best in this video, but she's doing the job too. Too bad they disappeared so qickly. Love(d) them.
Yes, it is definately a Beat Club performance. You can see the band's name and musicians' credits at around 2.04 which was a distinctive signature of Beat Club.
The Runaways with the new movie out were being heralded as the first female rock band...I remember this act because of a Guitar World article, one of those magazines high lighted several older acts and I wish I could remember who all was mentioned besides Fanny
I saw these ladies at Edgewater Park in Cleveland circ. '71 covering the Beatles' "Hey Bulldog"......Just Excellent! I didn't see that here but I'd love to.
.. i saw them at the Sunshine Inn in Asbury Park in March 1972. The videos i have seen understate their talent and stage presence. They were more modulated with the kind of flow resembling little feat's fat man ..
This footage is in the style of a German TV show of the time,, not the Beat Club however, I forget the name but there is a volume of acts on DVD from the show out, and nothing else, which is a shame
Love June and Jean. I have all their vinyl...even Millington (on Disco). Wish to see them again...saw them in 1965 and 1971. Still remember the night!
Manny Pacquiao is a boxing champ of the 21st century. Fanny is an American rock and soul band of the very early 70s. So, tell me, what's with the huge blank between the years?
I just saw June last Sunday at a concert she did in the acres on the Big Island. She is still rocking. She has a studio on the east coast to support young girls in rock. Check out IMA. She is out there giving all she has to the girls who want to rock!
Just amazing, always loved the Blind Alley tune and to see it played......beyond words. Anyone know what show this was filmed for ? Looks like an old Rockpalast filming. Thanks for posting !
Great music and the two front ladies are filipinas. Wow, i never saw them live.
