  • Pinoy yata yan!! rock on GIRL

  • now thats fkn rock and roll!!!!!!!

  • These girls kicked some serious ass!

  • never heard of them before but they're pretty decent.Shame they weren't more successful and they aren't better remembered.

  • The keyboards doesn't have the "look" the other three have but she's damn good!

  • Hmmm, I love fanny, arse too, oh and boobies rock my world.

  • Only Band I've ever been a groupy to. Back in the early 70's in West Berlin

  • Fanny is Hendrix Trio on female hormones.

  • Great little 70s tits on the drummer!

  • John Sebastien's greatest role was an appearance on Married With Children. youtube.com/watch?v=iIpqLb72wsg

  • vocals on blind alley = shades of joplin...

  • 4-13-11... Today Oprah featured Rock and Roll Goddesses from the 1970 and 1980's.

These "Legendary Ladies" were not included. Someone goofed!

  • Saw them in Potsdam NY in 1966 and in Syracuse (with James Gang...Joe Walsh!) in 1972. Amazing live. I have all their vinyl, and a precious promo postcard signed by Jean from "Mother's Pride." Hope they play Los Angeles at some point...soon!!!

  • Saw them at the Rainbow London with Jethro Tull and Pans People in1974.

  • Saw Fanny a couple of times when they toured here in the 70's - even played a (brief!) keyboard duet backstage with Nickey - until I screwed it up!

  • Fanny is one of the best bands of all time, creative original, HOT! Wish they would have been more succesful, they deserved more attention...

  • Fanny is one of the best bands of all time, creative original, HOT!

  • I luv the way of alice to hit the drums - so good, so sexy, so great!!!!

  • June and Jean are still slaying. You can sign up for a pre-release copy of their latest CD "Play like a Girl" on Kickstarter and help get this music out to their fans.

  • Tank god someone has heard of the legendary Fanny because everyone i have spoke to they have never heard of them what a shame blind alley was the first track i have heard and been hook ever since. GO GIRLS GO!!!!

  • Women of Rock n Roll. Pioneers.

  • This was a band I saw at the Filmore in SanFrancisco, "back in the day", and thought seriously about becoming a "groupie". These sisters rocked!

  • Love it! The video of them doing 'Special Care' is the first thing I ever saw by them, some time in the darkest 80s on a rerun show called 'Best of Beat Club'. I was the only person I knew who noticed them and for years I thought I'd dreamed them, because you couldn't get their stuff even in secondhand record shops and nobody was bringing them out on CD. Then finally, in 2006 or so, Reprise brought out the Fanny boxed set and I realised that I hadn't made them up. They were great.

  • its songs like this make me feel young, :) .

  • AMAZING LADIES!!!!!!! I love BLIND ALLEE, so much passion, so much of everything, sexy and shows that girls have the power and the knowledge to be hard rocker, realy musicans - most impressing: ALICE deBUHR on drums. what a pitty that this band wasnt so successfull like it had to be.

  • I like Fanny - all their work is great. They are the pioneers of female rock that deserve more respect thatn what they've gotten. Not everybody knows much about this band - well they ought to take a listen to this. This is excellent!

  • Unbelievable!!! I just wish the video quality was better, there's no way in hell the performances could be any better, amazing!!

  • I don´t understand why people compare them to the runaways, they are different bands and sounds, the runaways were kidz doing hard rock and roll in a punk/glam scene mostly composed by other teenage kidz, and fanny was a band of grown young adult women playing rock and roll with the blues influence from the 60´s, they even look hippie, It´s offensive to the talent and effort of both bands to compare them or try to dismiss one or the other just because both are all female rock and roll groups

  • I saw these ladies in 1971 in Denver when they opened for The James Gang...Fifth or sixth row dead center...They completely blew away Joe and the boys...They were MUCH better in a true live performance than in these "live in the studio" videos...|Still thanks for posting this...One of the best bands to never be given credit for how good they were

  • THEY PLAYED THEM ¨¨PRETTY WELL¨¨ HOW PATRONIZING THEY WERE FN ACE MAN

  • grace slick played a variety of instruments in both her bands throughout the 60s and 70s. and don't forget moe tucker.

  • wow!!

  • Bullshit documentary host John Sebastian. Fuck you. No mention of Ace Of Cups. FUCK YOU FOR MISINFORMATION. FUCK YOU.

  • I Love Fanny

  • very cool

  • I'm fan since I bought "Fanny Hill" in Soho in 72. Saw them 1 or 2 years later in Paris. Great memories. For sure Alice and June were hmm hmm with their burning tits, but what's the matter. They were together a GREAT BAND. "Blind alley" is IMHO one of theirs great numbers. It's evidently Nickey's works and she's doing the job. Jean is not at her best in this video, but she's doing the job too. Too bad they disappeared so qickly. Love(d) them.

  • It's from the german TV-Show BEAT -Club, shown on 27.11.1971

uh huh, the Drummer Girl looks very hmm hmmm ;-)

    and she can play!!!!

  • Fanny was a DANGEROUS band. The Runaways were wishful thinkers.

    SOMEONE'S GONNA GET BURNED~

  • Yes, it is definately a Beat Club performance. You can see the band's name and musicians' credits at around 2.04 which was a distinctive signature of Beat Club.

  • Great song from a great band!

Is this a live performance at Beat Club?

    *****

  • The show sourced is German TV's MusicLaden, or was it Dutch? They put out one archival DVD of acts that I bought and lost track of

  • The Runaways with the new movie out were being heralded as the first female rock band...I remember this act because of a Guitar World article, one of those magazines high lighted several older acts and I wish I could remember who all was mentioned besides Fanny

  • kick ass drumming!! well they all play well, but the drummer is awesome

  • I saw these ladies at Edgewater Park in Cleveland circ. '71 covering the Beatles' "Hey Bulldog"......Just Excellent! I didn't see that here but I'd love to.

  • I was laughing before I listened to this. But ... Fanny kicks ass!

  • She who laughs last......Rules??

  • thanks. I'll take that as a compliment.

    I <3 Fanny!

  • Thanks for posting this!

Fanny were the very first band I ever saw.

    1973, Bracknell Stadium.

    Happy Days!!

  • .. actually, the group who closely has Fanny's sound was Joan Jett & The Runaways at: Cz9JNDlcTgA

  • .. i saw them at the Sunshine Inn in Asbury Park in March 1972. The videos i have seen understate their talent and stage presence. They were more modulated with the kind of flow resembling little feat's fat man ..

  • The most talented all girl/woman rock-pop band, yesterday or today. All of them can sing and play strongly.

  • What has hapened with Alice de Buhr?

  • She was here on YouTube talking to us about a year ago. SHe may still be on here somewhere (love you Alice if you're reading this!:)

  • This footage is in the style of a German TV show of the time,, not the Beat Club however, I forget the name but there is a volume of acts on DVD from the show out, and nothing else, which is a shame

  • holy shit, a dam good voice from the lead singer, shame i never heard of them before

  • Love June and Jean. I have all their vinyl...even Millington (on Disco). Wish to see them again...saw them in 1965 and 1971. Still remember the night!

  • Before Manny Pacquiao, the Millington sisters were proudly representing Pinoy pride!!!

    Good job.....

  • Manny Pacquiao is a boxing champ of the 21st century. Fanny is an American rock and soul band of the very early 70s. So, tell me, what's with the huge blank between the years?

  • @iwasanangryyoungman Don't forget Arnel Pineda of Journey. :)

  • I just saw June last Sunday at a concert she did in the acres on the Big Island. She is still rocking. She has a studio on the east coast to support young girls in rock. Check out IMA. She is out there giving all she has to the girls who want to rock!

  • I saw them in '72 when they opened for Chicago - I thought they put on a better show than Chicago.

  • What a fantastic band, groundbreaking with such great songs !

  • Just amazing, always loved the Blind Alley tune and to see it played......beyond words. Anyone know what show this was filmed for ? Looks like an old Rockpalast filming. Thanks for posting !

  • Back in '75 I had the hots for Jean Millington, lol

  • @guinnessczar So did I in 1972! Awesome Band!

  • Judging by looking at Alice it must've been chilly in that room (lol)...

  • Doc it's the music - it has that effect on some of us!

  • Fanny slays!!!

Kind of reminds me of a female Deep Purple.

Early 70's rock is so good.

  • @Omgitszztop Or a female Bad Company. :)

  • @Omgitszztop or female Vanilla Fudge

  • LOVE this!!!!!

  • Wow, this is FANNY-tastic! Luv, luv this band! Thank you for posting this terrific clip.

  • Thanks, Tuscadero10!

  • Thank you SO much. Terrific band that should be honored so much more.

  • Uh, WOW!!! What an amazing set of back-to-back performances!

  • Oh yes we love this!!
