He talks in generalities, rather than in specifics about international law.
Specifically, each state IS a sovereign nation BY LAW, and the PEOPLE of the state are the ruling sovereigns.
The Union is simply a federal republic AMONG these sovereign nations, and the sovereign people of each state simply DELEGATE various powers to their state and federal governments.
And as national sovereigns, the people can OVERRULE state or federal government via sovereign power.
Repeal Amendment 17 Right Now! Amendments 9 & 10, States' Rights do not have a chance in hell without the Amendment 17 repealed. Restore our State representative Senators! Senators protect States from Federal Encroachments. Representatives protect People from Federal Encroachments. Article IV, Section 4. a Republican form of government allowing a democratic process. An American Vision.com Rights Of The People.com
@nsdtr01 Well, that does it, then! I guess we just have to live under an insane regime forever and ever, and never even consider saying no to it.
When the northern states were nullifying the fugitive slave acts, would you have been shouting, "Rethink this idea"? Moreover, the nullification of an actual part of the Constitution is an abuse of nullification, not an exercise of it.
I am definitely in favor of states nullifying federal law, where the feds have over stepped their bounds. However my biggest problem leaves with one question. What if, you live in a very progressive liberal state and the people just don't care?
To expand beyond that, think of it like a free market. Say there is an oppressive state, that state will inevitably lose its citizens who slowly(or quickly if they're well versed in economics and human rights) realize that the method of too much government isn't working. Those individuals will likely move to another state(much like people that aren't satisfied with a company will take their business elsewhere) then that oppressive state will realize it needs to change its tune.
@09Discovery Actually I like living on the coast. I am DONE with surrendering all the coastal states to these secular progressives. So I think I just stay here in Southern Cali, do what I need to do to surrvive and be a voice of reason to the madness. If these bleeding heart hippies want to pass another social policy, I'll be there just to say. "Oh yah, sounds good. How are you going to pay for it dumb ass." I will also do whatever it takes to support Jefferson State from finally succeding.
Tom is FAR TOO VAGUE.

I definitely prefer Woods' historical speeches to his ones dealing with economics and finance.

Hearing Tom Woods is like breathing oxygen in an intellectually oxygenless desert LOL, I guess I just coined that word, but it fits.
