  • where was the controversy here ?

  • LOL this is such BS... LUX in general is BS... every manufacturer has their own definition of LUX. I own both of these cameras and the only way to really tell is to compare the settings on each camera that generate the same amount of image noise, then determine which image looks better/brighter!

  • canon has a fake iris wheel, don't kid yourself it's not a pro grade camera

or maybe they forgot a professional functioning lense???

  • Are you trying to get the camera to solve lighting problems instead of setting up lights? Are there cameras out there good enough to digitally enhance the scene and do a truly professional production without a lighting kit?

  • Not a reliable test at all, the white balance is all wrong on the XF300.

  • canon is shit in video period

  • Settings aside, this isn't the best way to do such a test. At all.

  • @zenmachinefilms May Be not be my review was pretty accurate the Canon is actually closer to 1.5 stops slower than the EX1 from the reviews that I have read of the production model on DVinfo and other sites.

  • ex1 winner

  • MAHHHHHHH

  • That's it... I've lost hope in Canon... HELLO SONY :)

  • can you tell me what song this is? thanks!

  • @DrNibbert Its A Local Houston group I will look for the CD tonite...

  • @FindMeInTheH Did you find the cd??

  • No way to do a test

  • Paying double for a rolling shutter......

I would get the EX1, if I had to, when somebody gave me the cash.....you cant beat physics....the bigger sensor always wins....Airy Spot Effect.....Now, if they dropped the ridiculous 8K price down to around 3-4K, then maybe....but for now, Im staying with a full shutter on my XH A1....

  • haha, well one other thing you might want to add. You were shooting in 60i. You should have tried some of the progressive formats! haha

  • @RoundTheBendMI

The Video was shot in 1920x1080 24p 50mbps with the canon and 1920x1080 24p 35mbps with the Sony. The Rez and color chart was shoot on a different Canon XF300 cam at 60i

  • @FindMeInTheH oh haha. sorry for the misunderstanding. Yeah, I was looking in to the XF's but the quality doesn't seem as good or "bright" as the DSLR HD line. I'm sure you can edit presets with the level of customization like the XH series (which I adore)

  • @RoundTheBendMI

Keep in mind those were preproduction models the cam is not out yet. I am sure it will be a great cam when it gets to final production. The price point will be the onlything keeping me from getting one $6777.99. I already own a EX1 and EX3. I was hoping for the $4000.00 range on the Canon XF300

  • you didn't white balance the xf300, at least it appears that way!

  • @ferlonjrTV

Please read the review as state in the review the white balance was not working on the preproduction model that I shot with.

  • @FindMeInTheH oh I see, my bad boss! ;-)

  • The shutter speed of the ex1 is clearly lower then the canon. This is a bogus test.

  • @kareldc2 its extactly the same shutter 48 the Canon is at leat 1 to 1.5 stops slower than the EX1.

  • 4) - They are real Canon EX-1 and Sony XF in this test??? Demonstrate!

    5) - It 's not the way to do a real test! We need a third camera that frames all that proves conclusively that the two camera are completely equal, that 'both with the factory setting to zero!

    Sorry again for the translation.

    By.

  • @meteorite65

This demo was done a NAB in Vegas the canon XF300 was on a short leash that type of set up would not be possible at a trade show. I am trying to get a demo cam from Canon so I can do a proper shoot,

  • Sorry for the automatic translation of Google.

This test is' absolutely wrong, and I would say that makes me laugh!

    1) - The two camera not have the equal perspective!

    2) - You see very well that the Sony EX-1 has an iris wide open ....... while the Canon has a iris very closed!

    3) - Shutter speed is equal to the Sony and Canon?? Not,for me!

  • looks like the sony is better...
