Dark UK sketch comedy with a hint of mint. This is our first video and we'd love to know what you think. If you like it please rate, comment, subscribe!
@crazydaniel71 Sorry, I don`t think you`ll find it on YouTube. There are some Outtakes to be found but on reflection I may have confused the Outtakes with the Deleted Scenes on the DVD.
This was bloody amusing! “… please would you avoid woody, or anything too woody” “Did you hear that?” “The banging? No, I didn’t hear that”. Ahaha!!! I laughed so hard when she flipped the last card and it was a picture of Sandra LOL!
Steve Coogan is a fricken genius. Alan Partridge was one of the great post modern tragic-comic figures. Its awesome to see him doing more brit sitcoms rather than more terrible american movies.
This was such a brilliant series. I've only just found this after seeing Julia in an episode of People Like Us. Very talented lady and attractive with it.
This series is just utterly brilliant. Jill is without a doubt one of the most perverse and fascinating comedy creations ever. At times she is incredibly sexy too. I wish I could thank Julia Davis personally for creating such a twisted character. I just love to watch her in this role. And that voice is just so endearing.
God, I hope not. I'm American, but I absolutely hate it when British shows are remade "American style". I wish they would just put the original British shows on American tv instead of trying to do a crap remake. It almost always fails miserably.
Moreover, it,s not like there was a language barrier, so no use for a remake. They must think Americans are too dumb to understand a foreign accent. Sad.
Yes - Read "The Secret In The Bible" by Tony Bushby. It is said a crystal reproduction of the Capstone, and a beam of light into the top of that Capstone, will create or produce 'Lamed' or a Serpent of Light dancing on it's tail (Lamed Rotating). When the shadows are cast from this rotating 'Serpent' dancing on it's tail, the 22 Glyphs are the "letter's of light" or the 'BASIS' of the now derived 'Hebrew' alphabet. Taro 't' ROTA Rotation, EVOLVE, EVOLUTION, TORAh, all derived from this script.
Julia Davis is an extraordinarily talented comedian...good female comics are such a rarity - which is a real shame - but Julia is right on the cutting edge with her material. She's not just "good for a woman"...she's good, period.
I never really got to see nighty night properly which is a real shame coz its got such a great cast and i hear its pretty dark. cant be as dark as chris morris' JAM but who knows
watch the "video response" posted by xdarrenxx, its one of the most hilareous clips from nighty night series one... its the bit where jill basicly tells terry that shes made his funeral arrangements so he can not muck her about with things like not dien! *so rude*

The Tarot came from the 22 shadows cast from the rainbow serpent dancing on his tail in the "ben ben" of the capstone of the Great Pyramid. Taro ROTA as in ROTATION evolution/revolution of the Soul through Eternity. These 22 glyphs are in the murals of the Halls of Initiation each initiate was led through and a 'Pastophore' (guardian of the Sacred Symbols). Read 'The Secret In The Bible' by Bushby for the reproduceable, unarguable fact & truth! The glyphs, the phenomena can be proven physically!
Wrong! tigr, you're quoting dated history. Tarot's mystery has been solved now, we know when where it came from and why it was created, Italy, 15 century for playing a card game and not fortune telling.

I am siting a physically reproduceable phenomena of which is documented in "The Secret In The Bible" by Tony Bushby, and also further in "The History and Practice of Magic" by Paul Christian. A beam of light into a 'ben ben' or pyramid capstone will reproduce 'Lamed' and the shadows cast from this produce the 22 glyphs or 'letter's of light' the Taro or ROTA as in rotation or evolution, comes from. I stand correct, and this is well documented, and physically reproduceable.
Yes tugr7170, it's great to see "reproduceable, unarguable fact & truth" in such a funny video. Was it only in the late 16th Century that SANDRA, aka 10 of FAGS, first appeared in the Tarrot pack?! But then she was stunning weren't she. Think she went out with that "Big Ben" from Dundee for a while - they did some spectacular ROTATIONS!!
I am siting a physically reproduceable phenomena of which is documented in "The Secret In The Bible" by Tony Bushby, and also further in "The History and Practice of Magic" by Paul Christian.

Speaking of Tarot cards; Ever heard of playing games with Tarot cards? "A History of Games Played With the Tarot Pack" by Michael Dummett and John McLeod is essential reading on the subject. Speaking of crafty free adverts disguised as YouTube comments.... that sounds great, especially as it's "rare stuff"! But, does it really have Sandra in it!!!???
Not really advertising when I'm just trying to pass on free information. Might not have Sandra in it, but it's relevant on the basis that this clip has the characters using Tarot cards. The book which I'm encouraging you download for free has historical information that might make you all better informed about the history of tarot cards and their uses. It's unfortunate that so many people automatically think "fortune telling" when presented with tarot!
It would be nice if sometime a television drama would present tarot cards being used as game playing cards (as they were originally invented for).
Trust me, I'm not "selling" anything here. I'm just a college student who took some of his own time to scan this book and share it. I want to spread around things of educational value... y'know. Tarot is definitely a subject upon which most people need some re-education.

"Cathy I cannot pretend that's a good card... but it doesn't mean death... where as that one does!" ha ha ha!!! I cannot understand why some people don't find this funny but that just proves how different we are to each other.

It would have been good if they had marketed it as drama rather than comedy. There is very little humour in this at all and the BBC wasted millions on this when they could have made another Blackadder or Red Dwarf or even Thin Blue Line. - MH
Have seen little on TV in the past five years that was funnier than this dark series. I believe that Davis is a comedy genius. Painfully cringeworthy at times. No canned laughter. No easy jokes. Just brilliant observation.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It's not just Americans who don't get Nighty-Night, I thought it was complete rubbish. But never mind, perhaps I just watch too much Blackadder for it really to have gelled with me. - MH
It's what you see in the cards that counts. She is either so good she hardly needs them at all, or doesn't know where to begin. But having read them before I got into government (private party trick), it is nice to see a renaissance in tarot references in popular culture, e.g. Sea of Souls earlier this year as well. - MH
hmm, am not sure this is really the renaissance you were looking for mavis, but let's all hope Gordon avoids... "wood, or anything too woody".
Am sure this was Jill's own very private party trick, but then she probably totally believes in the tarot. But hang on, how did Sandra get in there.....oooh, spooky!!
oh dear... there are plenty of real brits who act (and sound) just like these two. Now that's really funny isn't it. Whereas most brit tv comedies are so lighr-hearted (and almost funny)...
totally cringeworthy, totally funny (for us dreadful brits anyway...)
lolololololololololololol "i cant pretend the devil is a good card... but it doesnt mean death." *sigh of relief* then she pulls the death card. that was hilarious!!!!
Yes i agree, series one waz so perfectly funny. I loved the dry abstract wit. Unfortunately they couldn't keep that momentum going for the second series. She is sooo sexy to!

- MH

Each to their own. I personally found Nighty Night very funny. This clip is pregnant with humour, you're just not seeing it.

Have seen little on TV in the past five years that was funnier than this dark series. I believe that Davis is a comedy genius. Painfully cringeworthy at times. No canned laughter. No easy jokes. Just brilliant observation.

iain is blatantly an american who doesn't get the british sense of humour!

It's not just Americans who don't get Nighty-Night, I thought it was complete rubbish. But never mind, perhaps I just watch too much Blackadder for it really to have gelled with me. - MH

lol so funny, great show, her interpretations of the tarot so wrong hehehe

It's what you see in the cards that counts. She is either so good she hardly needs them at all, or doesn't know where to begin. But having read them before I got into government (private party trick), it is nice to see a renaissance in tarot references in popular culture, e.g. Sea of Souls earlier this year as well. - MH
maviscrow 4 years ago
hmm, am not sure this is really the renaissance you were looking for mavis, but let's all hope Gordon avoids... "wood, or anything too woody".
Am sure this was Jill's own very private party trick, but then she probably totally believes in the tarot. But hang on, how did Sandra get in there.....oooh, spooky!!

Loved this show, shame the second series was so bad.

dreadful acting. brits are usually so good too. How disappointing.
Iain0408 4 years ago
The "quality" of their acting is intentional...to add to the satire, which is what a lot of the humour in these episodes is based on...
liv89sta 4 years ago
oh dear... there are plenty of real brits who act (and sound) just like these two. Now that's really funny isn't it. Whereas most brit tv comedies are so lighr-hearted (and almost funny)...
totally cringeworthy, totally funny (for us dreadful brits anyway...)

Yes i agree, series one waz so perfectly funny. I loved the dry abstract wit. Unfortunately they couldn't keep that momentum going for the second series. She is sooo sexy to!
