Ah Vesper, my 1st town when playing in UO. The many nights goofing around at the banks, waiting for someone to drop so I could loot them clean.

Remember (ever so shortly) you could snoop someone and that would turn your gray to that person and it was on! Ah, memories, wish I could bring them back... Is this what it's like for the hippies to want the 60's back? :(

While I was looting my own corpse while invisible It looked like my friend was.... though i put bulk loot in my pack before i died,.. every one shouted guards at my friend... nothing happened….. but as soon as someone else looted GUARDS:) I got castle deeds and house deeds, 1000s of ingots, bags fill of reagents and full sets of magical plate armour and not to mention 10s of thousands of gold pieces, It was Carnage at the Britain bank! :)

Hearing this tune just made my day.

I remember first playing UO back in '98, running from Vesper to Covetous and seeing in-game snow start to fall. Especially cool since it was winter when I started playing, and there was snow outside as well.

Know when you're a kid and luck out with a videogame Christmas present, and there's always a damn ice level in it? Well when I play an old Zelda title or Metroid and hit an ice stage, I think of Christmas, and that's what Vesper's music does for me.

This really brings back my childhood. It breaks my heart to see that UO isnt what it used to be. No game will EVER match UO. so many memories, so many friends, so many adventures. Listening to this music almost makes me cry. If i could, i would just revisit all my favorite places in the game, like the britain graveyard, moonglow, and the lizard man caves north of Brit. Graveyard... Im proud to say i was playing Uo when it was Uo, not some shitty knock off game like it is now. Uo will be missed.

I remember my parents got me this game in early 99. I was in my teens then and just found out about MMOs. I remember the first person I ever met on UO was a PK and he didn't kill me but helped me out and gave me some gold. All the memories, all the people I met on this game, all the adventures and fun times... I miss them so much. I'm so glad I got to experience this game when it was in it's prime. I'll never get those feelings back that his game gave me, but i'm glad i got experience them. RIP

Oh how I love UO. I remember when i saved up my first 2k to buy a sweet shadow heater shield. I ran around rocking that thing with full bone armor and I felt like i owned the place. Until one day when i saw a corpse in town and I (didnt know about turning criminal for looting a corpse) grabbed an item then saw the message that I was now a criminal. Got chased all the way up to brit blacksmith and was killed. Lost my heater shield.

Thank you for uploading this. I played UO when it first came out and spent weeks in northern Vesper just making fancy shirts and chatting with people on Baja. Who would have thought I'd become a PK and join LoD? HAHAH! I miss this game IMMENSELY :(

I started playing Ultima Online when it was released. I have played a few games after UO, but I must say that no one seems to get it right like UO did.

One day maybe someone will be able to truly grasp the meaning behind this wonderful game.

@brunoericklara it's very sad that no one has been able to do this right. honestly making a modern-esque MMO with a skill based system complete with banks and the like would probably be just as well received as the original UO. There are too many people around the world that have asked for this same thing for it not to be.

I'm amazed that no one has ever been able to match the fun that UO was for me... the skill based system vs the level based grinds EVERYTHING out there seems to have to hang onto these days is something that I miss.. and the early early UO days when moongates were piles of bodies and thieves were thick as jello around every bank.. ah good times. still remember the name of the first thief who pick pocketed me at Britain bank with promises of gold and items, lol...
