Yeah, the only portions of this song that weren't direct quotes from other songs, seemed as though the meaning was spread very thin to make it rhyme at all. (Like it was a struggle to make it rhyme at the expense of making sense constantly.) Can't force a good song, just have to wait for the inspiration. Patience makes pros.
He's with Strange Famous and what?....... No beard....WTF? It should be in the contract somewhere. Shave your head and grow a massive beard. Maybe he can't grow one, that thought had never crossed my mind.
I wish I could shake whoever made this beat's hand. This is some fresh, but original construction; the beats flow so well over these perfectly formed verses of poetry. Ode to Cecil Otter style.
I would kill to use this in one of our paintball videos. The shots and cuts I could do with this would be epic. It goes 1,2! Fuckin Hip Hop heaven right here. Strangefamous let me know man I will make sure I do this cut justice!
@tachyonpython you have a music box that has a bass track, a drum track, and a lyric track? that's a pretty intense music box! most rappers and producers get their inspiration for beats from other songs and will sample from them. it doesn't make them unoriginal at all. but that's just my opinion
Yup, only recently, Sage was personally feelin' Rebel Yellow and signed him off that...
I gotta say, I've never understood RSE, you would of thought the whole Doomtree crew would be on RSE. And also Kristoff Krane/Abzorbr, great act from MN, works a lot with Eyedea, who is/was with RSE, I would of expected RSE to snap then up...If you don't know Kristoff Krane check him out, his new album "This Will Work For Now" is brilliant...Maybe Sage should sign him to SFR if RSE don't get in there...
Cecil is still on DTR, Sage just wanted to give him better distribution with SFR. POS is on RSE to help the rest of DTR. It's like, RSE focuses on releasing POS' stuff and he gets to focus on releasing DTR stuff. He takes the knowledge and relationships he gets from RSE and takes 'em back to DTR.
Cecil is still DTR, POS is RSE/DTR, life is good..

Cecil Otter is the illest POET in the game. It's beyond hip hop at this point, this is legitimate poetry.

Cecil Otter is proof that Hip Hop isn't dead, its growing strong in the underground. Minnesota is a hive of talented Hip Hop artists.

@tsum931 i'm sure he meant the backing track that sounds like a wind up music box, not this whole track.

Great song. I like the ring pop for the reference to the diamonds. Artists that don't take themselves too seriously make some seriously good shit!

Great signing Sage...Dope song, dope video, dope album. Though I prefer the original audio, but that probably due to familiarity...
Anyway people, if you don't know about Cecil Otter, or Doomtree as a collective, but this shit!
