  • don't compare. just listen.

  • Goosebumps every single time I listen to it. Goosebumps.

  • love this song

  • Lies, this is definitely NOT better than Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey version, but it's still good.

  • @MalcMalc19 you're right - these singers are not better vocalists. but this version has so much more emotion. i cry every time i hear this version, with or without the video. the whitney and mariah version is phenomenal, but it isn't the same emotionally.

  • @lexi219 Well, I never actually got to see the movie, and Whitney's is the first version I heard, so that might be why this version doesn't move me, personally, as much.

  • I love how Miriam isn't a super skinny model looking girl, like the other ladies in cartoon movies . It just makes her even prettier. :)

  • @GeekyAlexandria Yeah cause a chubby Hebrew slave in Egypt makes TONS of sense.

  • I sang this for a talent a show! I love this song so much.

  • This makes my heat hurt...It's so beautiful!

  • I love this movie soooo much

  • Such a underfull song <3

  • Goosebumps! <3

  • I usede to have the soundtrack for this movie lol

  • I like the part where the kids started singing in Hebrew. It really gave a touch of the setting into the song.

  • God!!! i loved this video and song!

  • i will never forgive my mother for taping over my video of this with coranation street! i was like 9 and was absolutely devastated :'(

  • My favorite part is when the kids start singing in Hebrew.. So awesome and cute!

  • omg, this brigs back the best memories ever! singing in church with the family... smh

  • THE MEMORIES!!!!

  • This song makes me cry and idk something about it just moves me. ♥

  • @IfNotForToday I agree with you it does the same thing to me :)

  • @pattytriciastrange Yeah I just love it =D

  • Legit just cried, call me a sap but this movie and this song always move me to tears.

One of the most beautiful animated movie EVER!!!

  • 3:41 -> my favorite part! little girl big oxen! :) so cute

  • This is one of the greatest animated movies ever made and one of the greatest and most inspirational songs ever composed!

  • I have such a hard time not singing along to most songs, but this one absolutely silences me. I am amazed over and over again every time I hear this song.

  • This is my favorite movie! It teaches so much yet it is extremely interesting :) i love it,i personally find it amazing!

  • I've been looking up songs from my favorite Disney movies all day. It's amazing how these childrens movies inspire such hopeful and happy conversations in the comments, rather than the conflict that trolls bring to supposedly inspirational songs today.

  • I'm not religious at all... but I listen to this and God Help the Outcasts from the Hunchback of Notre Dame all the time... they're both so beautiful, I get chills every time.

  • Is it wrong to think that Moses was really handsome?

  • @pomoapple I think Ramses is handsome. :3 lol! So no.

  • I planned on playing this song in the background while I did some work, but I can't help but watch the video every time. This is one of my favorite movies. Ever. n_n

  • i love this movie it is one of my favorites

  • i saw this movie in history class today, =3 i have always loved this movie. ( i've watched it before )

  • @HetaliaAru345 how do you get to watch disney movies in history class? It was rare that I ever got to watch a movie in history class and if I did, it was some dumb movie or a history segment like you get off the History Channel, or a music video of a metalica song that scared the crap out of me both years I had to watch to watch it in my History class!

  • @DarkAngelLight90 idk but i remembered for history class in middle school i watched Hercules, mulan, and this movie as well as some anime movie i cant remember right now..

  • @melloyellowphase Lucky!!! The only time I got to watch an actually good movie in a class was my Mythology class in high school and we watched an old version of Clash of the Titans.

  • @DarkAngelLight90 1. Its not disney 2. We are learning about Moses XD plus my history teacher is awesome. and we had nuthing else to do =P

  • @HetaliaAru345 its good enough to be disney though

  • Gives me goosebumps.

  • This is so inspiring and uplifting!!

  • I love when the children start to sing. When you think about it, they would be the only ones singing and celebrating. They were too young to really understand what this meant for their lives, to them it was just going to someplace better so of course they're happy. It's an adventure.. The adults would be scared out of their minds, I think. I know I would be. I don't think I would be able to trust that it was really over or that we were safe, how could you when all you've ever known was slavery?

  • what happened to all the movie companies like disney and dream works?? what happen to the movies that had such beautiful lessons and values behind them that one would cherish their whole live. movies like this will stay with me forever. the shit today is all about who can create the best special effect and thats it no meaning to the movie anymore. very sad

  • i know its not right but i feel sorry for the egyitains i mean losing every first born bam lord u scary

  • @dominicbonserful we actually discussed this in my theology/ world religions class today, what we came up with, i guess you could say, is that its possible that God was trying to make the Egyptians feel what the Israelites felt when pharaoh killed all the male children

  • @dominicbonserful Actually I would argue it is right to feel sorry for them, after all it wasn't the first born's fault was it?

  • @dominicbonserful I was going to point out that paybacks a bitch for the egyptians but I think caitysmits has already said what need to be said.

  • i love it <3

  • fav part when the kids sing!!!

  • <3

  • one of my favorite childhood movies<3

  • amazing.tks........

  • Those kids sounded CUTE!!!!

  • This song reminded me of my undying belief when i was younger. Something i lost as i grew older. Feeling so down i stumbled upon this, without looking for it or having it in mind. My tears haven't stopped since.

  • @Nazi031 With all due respect, and with love; the ancients used to say: Words are very powerful and names make us. Perhaps, and this is just a suggestion, please change your You Tube name....THe energy will come again..Love never goes away..it just gets buried sometimes..

  • @BrightStar5972 Thank you for your kind response, i was feeling very very down that day and i have picked myself up since then. Trying ti reinforce the postivity back into my life and i struggle but everyday i am better then yesterday, i just felt deprived of love and belief in myself. As for my name- In my part of the world ''nazi'' is often used as an endearment or a nick name for girls. Which means ''beauty'' and ''pride''. i hope that clears the mis-conception. It's just my real name :)

  • That little bit with Moses and the kids around 3:06 is so heartwarming I can barely stand it.

  • This song got the oscar it deserved :)

  • 4 people don't believe miricles!

  • 4:03 - a very tender and heartfelt moment :)

  • mariah carey and whitney houston did good on this song

  • No matter how many times I listen to this song, it always warms my heart and brings me to tears. It is songs like this that get me through the hard times in life.

  • 4 People Has Lost The Hope Of God... Its Not To Late To Pray...

  • @PolynesianLove22 that's probably cuz they haven't had their prayers answered, it happens

  • This song makes me cry it's so beautiful!

  • Its amazing how a big group of people unite for one love, a never ending love that is jesus christ. Tremendously Beautyfull cant stop crying :')

  • I think that the children being out of tune in their singing really brings out the emotion

  • Ive seen this clip countless times and it never seems to amaze me and warm my heart

  • Did anyone else memorize this as a kid? :)

  • @Egirl1003 heck yes

  • God is good!

  • i want to be actoress. and i've got myself in a little film. i believed!:D

  • moses looks like eric bana

  • *shiver*

  • this is what a real song is, beautiful voices without huge autotune, inspiring message thats not about girls, partying etc. and an all in all amazing song.go to hell kesha

  • I have the chills really badly right now; the singing is awesome!

  • @TheDarkAngel14411441 I agree with you pal! :D

  • and i know wht their saying in hebrew cause im jewish

  • @TheGoodman60 what are they saying?

  • @PhoenixFireeye "I shall sing to god for he has soared. who is of your stature among gods, lord? who in justice? I shall sing to god for his people he has saved." I'm not even religious but this song is amazing.

  • @jeromekaplan90 Yes, yes it is. Thanks for the translation! ♥♥♥

  • my choirs doing this song for our concert!!! and the concert is next week

  • I love this song! The voices harmonize perfectly!

  • most perfect voices:) they go together great and the little girl omg i cried

  • this song is so wonderful!

  • The hebrew is roughly

I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously *2

Who is like You, oh Lord, among the celestial

Who is like You, majestic in holiness

In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed *2

I will sing, I will sing, I will sing

  • @Louise1997ish Oh wow that's gorgeous.

  • @Louise1997ish That is beautiful

  • 1:54 i always loved that part. not too many cartoons successfully portray realistic love, in either action or facial expression, and that does both

  • I love the harmony of the two singers, absolutely beautiful :)

  • does anyone know what the hebrew part says?

  • they never reach the promised land. they piss god off and god makes them wonder the desert for 40 years until their next generation. thats the part this movie overlooks.

  • @jessica5000000 True, but that is because when Moses met with God to create the 10 commandments they betrayed God by idoling the Egyptian Gods and broke every commandment. And the children where innocent of their parents actions. Id be kinda pissed as well if I freed about 100,000 people and then they all turn their back. Its kinda like the crappy friend that uses ya to get discounts at the store you work at ya know? But yeah they did eventually find jerusalem.

  • @fhsfiddleboy09 thats true too. thats my problem with this movie. they show the good parts but overlook the darker parts. It should had shown what happens when they turned from god at the end.

  • @jessica5000000 I think the reason they stopped there was because that chapter of the story was over. They were no longer in egypt, and the movie is called the prince of Egypt. They stopped it there because that's a good place to stop it and it hints at what happenes next.

  • What a great movie, what a greater time in our history.

  • I feel this movie and song is soooo sooo soo uplifting and encouraging and it truly brings tears to my eyes :) it makes me feel happy best movie

  • Who...why would anybody dislike this?

  • when i was little and still today, i personally see this as the BEST religious movie other than "the nativity story"...beautiful :D

  • I thought Aaron was a guy?

  • @fmagistel aaron is a guy, the girl in the video is moses' wife zipporah.. aaron doesn't play a prominent role in the movie like he does in the bible

  • A shi-ra a la doe nai ki gao-ga

    A shi-ra a la doe nai ki gao-ga.

Mi ha mo ha bae lim a do ni-i

Mi ha mo ha da-e dar ba ko desh

Na him ta be has de ha alm zu ga alta

Na him ta be has de ha alm zu ga alta!

    A shi-ra a shi-ra a SHI-RA! :)

  • @Sopresaful what does the hebrew version mean?

  • @innocent4evar

it is Mi Chamocha, and it was composed by Miriam during the Exodus itself.

  • @RedDracolich reallyyy?

  • This is absolutely the best part of the movie! Everybody is happy and free!

  • Isrealites always had a hard time... hmmm. Even to this day.

  • Soo breath taking

  • So much better than the Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston version.

I have had thing song on repeat for the past week. Very Uplifting.

  • One of my favorite inspiring movies of all time!!! -3

  • God, I get shivers from this song <3 It's truly a song of hope, no matter what your religion or ethnicity <3

  • I always wondered....what are they singing in Hebrew??? (I'm going to assume it is Hebrew at least)

  • I'm singing this in choir it was fun sing the last part

  • I'm singing this song in a choir but never will it sound as magical as that!

  • For all of you who think this song is beautiful...you have Hans Zimmer to thank for that :) some of his other greatest works are included in "The Lion King" and "Pirates of the Caribbean 2, 3, and 4"

  • What I love best about this movie is how they actually include Hebrew in it

  • Love this song!!!

  • Hebrew

  • are they jews

  • whose awesome voice is this?? *.* i mean, her voice is so beautiful. but together with the lyrics and the melody and the video it's just... unbelievable

  • when i listen 2 this song i cant help but sing 2 it!!

  • Aw, man, I got a little teary. My favorite part is when the children start to sing, that was got me. :)

  • These people are lucky to be afraid, and believe. Nowadays people dont really care who is who and who is real.

  • 3:41 so cute :3 beautiful song :')

  • AWESOME SONG!!!!

  • I watched this movie when I was little and lost it a long time ago, I could probably buy it on Ebay

  • could someone tell me what the little girl is singing, I'm under the impression that it is hebrew

  • @lickurbass (I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously)

(I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously)

(Who is like You, oh Lord, among the celestial)

(Who is like You, majestic in holiness)

(In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed)

(In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed)

  • i have this movie but my oldest sister has it hidden in her room just to torture me cuz the kids i babysit LOVE this movie

  • i have the prince of egypt it is brand new i got it from blockbuster

  • Best non-disney production along with Anastasia :)

  • @TheRemorseful

I actually think there are a lot of Don Bluth movies that are almost equal to Disney films. But nevertheless, I like this one a lot, too. :) This comes close to making me cry... It might not be long before it makes me cry full-on because my grandma gave it to me when I was small and shes only getting older. :'(

  • @TheRemorseful this was dreamwork's ever best

  • @TheRemorseful Fer sure.

  • @TheRemorseful I'm surprised that neither made it to Broadway, really... both would have worked out quite well I think. Too bad it didn't work out.

  • @TheRemorseful Don't forget about "The road to El Dorado"! :D

  • Hans Zimmer !!

  • This could make anybody cry

  • watched this in school

  • - When you Believe from the Prince of Egypht -

  • this was on ytv yesterday!

  • whitney and mariah version is too clean.... this has a sweet melody to it compared to their smoothed out vocals

  • i love it

  • What a great film. Shalom.

  • i cant understand this movie...why did the God of Moses decide to kill the innocent first born child of Eygt? why not kill the Pharaoh himself? i mean hes the bad guy right? why not just kill him and that it! Game over

  • @nikolailev

To prove a point, and a stradegy.

Killing the Pharaoh himself will only leave his son, who would have lived and the hatred or hatred that might of come into the hearts of eygpt.

Killing the empire from the inside out also put pressure on the Pharoah from his people , from Moses and the Jews, to let them go.

  • oh ok if ur father sinned its okay if God kills u? or if u sinned its okay if God kill ur son? is that what ur trying to say?

Ur very sure that the Pharaoh son will be full of hatred or will he see the light? see the misdeeds of his father?

Besides if God can talk to Moses directly why not to the Pharaoh? he can talk to the Pharaoh like in burning pyramid or something right? I think the pharaoh will tremble in fear if God will talk to him that way, then no more need for killing...

  • @nikolailev It says in the bible that God tried to talk to the Pharoh, but his heart hardened and he ignored God.

The greatest gift God gave us was the gift of free thought and speech... to do what we want to do. He's not going to take it away from us, no matter how much it hurts us, others, or God.

  • WHO hardens the pharaoh's heart? well the bible says...

Exodus 7:3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

so the God of Moses hardens the Pharaohs heart then he kills the innocent first born of Egypt...so whats ur point?

God never tried talking to the pharaoh!! I think u need to read the bible more before talking to me...

  • Haven't you heard "God works in mysterious ways"? The point of the Pharaoh... his son... was that they would NOT have listened. Moses had been selected by the messenger of God BECAUSE the Egyptians were arrogant and angry. :/ God gave them quite a few warnings, I'd like you to know. Does that excuse it?

Well, sir. I'd say that is a question for God.

  • Pharaoh hardens his heart FIRST

  • @Sorrow2isnt7Rain

Not according to romans 9. Read the chapter.

    Rom 9 16-18

"So then it {does} not {depend} on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH." So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires."

It's god that does the hardening not Pharaoh.

  • I agree. And also, to make see that g-d is not to be messed with. But in my culture, we believe that g-d felt very sorry for wha he did. the story says that when the red sea closed and the people were rejoicing, g-d said " How can you rejoice when my sons and daughters were just killed by the very tide that set you free?" or something like that. anyways, we think he was sorry for ANY loss of life, no matter how big or small.

  • @nikolailev its because you only look inside the box.. think outside the box.

  • I like this version better...

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

Its like, i fall in LOVE with it again, each time for a different reason every time I watch it!

  • me too!!!

  • 3:31 lol

  • Not to be a hater, but... I wonder how many of the celeb voice actors from this movie are Scientologists now?

  • does anyone know who the singers are?

this is so beautiful, way better than the mariah and whitney version
