Something that dosent make sense is that now in series 7 they dedicteed two different episodes surrounded by a situation where it was so hard for one of the borthers to kill someone close to them although was for the greater good - with Sam/Amy then Dean/amazon daughter... yet here 3 seasons prior he overcome this situation without the whole fuss,,,

Oh well still made for some great watching by two amazing actors!! :)

I believe that Jared Palecki played this to perfection. In his grief, it seemed that everything about Sammy was transformed. Usually, I am more attracted to Dean. However, in his grief, Sam became beautiful.

For all that "Supernatural" is I think it is foremost the story of Dean's love for his "little" brother Sammy. Despite teasing, pranking, ordering, and occasionally punching, there is nothing that Dean would not do for Sammy. This time the only thing he could do for Sammy was cry.

This episode never made any sense. After the last night of the full moon, they find out that she's their pesky werewolf. She has 28 days before it's that time of the month again, which is plenty time to build herself a steel reinforced cage. Instead, she decides to have Sam kill her?? Weak. Plot holes for the sake of romantic tragedy just don't do it for me.

@CAPCBMERRITT I looked this scene up because I was curious what other Supernatural viewers thought of it. There have been many moments in the show that were both heartbreaking and inevitable (like Ellen and Jo's death), but this wasn't one of them. Sad moment, but unnecessary.

There's so much depth to this scene which is why it will probably always go down as my favorite end to a SPN episode (and there's been many endings that I love). Sam making the decision to kill Madison because she's a danger to society even though she's really not evil and Dean realizing that he may be forced to someday kill Sam for the same reason. Also, Dean realizing that Sam is actually capable of killing Madison, while he himself knows he could never kill Sam but would kill himself first.

Dean is always trying to be so capable for his brother. He wasn't able to help him and then finds out that Sam is 'the bigger man' in some essence.

This moment really set this show apart from a lot of the other horror/fantasy types that are out there. The episode itself is well written and I don't care who you are, guy or gal, you couldn't help but feel for Sam after everything that had happened to him up to this point in the series. I mean, even Dean, the tough-as-nails, badass of the show, even gets weepy.

I love this moment, it has to be one of my favourites just because it's so sad, it makes me cry loads, Sams crying is so good, he really is upset. and Dean's single tear...it's like he's sharing Sam's pain, he always seems to get pretty upset when Sam is probably cause he's so close to his brother. What I don't get is that i think he cries more here with Madison than he does when Dean dies, he just looks so much more upset...

The ironic part is in the show, Dean crys because of the pain Sam is in. In real life Jared made himself cry by thinking about having to put down one of his dogs and Jensen got emotional thinking about how much that would hurt Jared. So both Dean/Jensen shed a tear because of the pain Sam/Jared is in. It's funny how life imitates art.

Great frickin scene! And the music is perfect... well I did research to find the song and although this was the first link I found it did not help AT ALL due to the disabled audio... BS man. But it's a perfect ending to the episode and really highlights how much Dean cares for Sam... he tries to carry all the burdens of the job and takes them from Sam when he can, now Sam bears this burden it's truly emotional and Dean bears the burden of what Sam has done as well.
