Why dont you judge the movie on it's own merrits and not compared to the original "Alien" or any of its other sequels. The sewer sequence was excellent. Let me ask you....what type of story line would YOU have done if you were a writer. Be creative and let me know. You sound very intelligent!!!

It has nothing to do with the script of Requiem."To me" it's visuals did not made it. Especially the sewer scene you mentioned. Remember the shoot of the alien's foots? That was just laughable. Another thing was that the movie was pitch black. No chance to brighten it up. Maybe your taste is different. That's normal and fine to me ;)

Hope this honours AvP: I liked the Bishop androids seen in Aliens & Alien 3 turning out to be effigies of Weyland Industries' founder Charles Bishop Weyland.
@Litshttam Lance Henriksen looks over 30 years older now. To play an android in Aliens and then later again in Alien3 worked flawless. His appearance in any new Alien based movie would cause problems :p Weyland Industries created their Bishop model with the look of a Charles Bishop in his best years. Henriksen is now 71. Would be funny to see a CGI Bishop in later movies :P

Aside from being a bad idea from the very start, the movies themselves were utter trash nobody saw or liked. Well, save for a few videogame playing kids who liked the gore and didn't care about the story.

But Ridley is the more Real director, cus he really knows how to build pace, tension, and character development in a film/story.

@RaikenXion Kudos to the shifting-pyramid scenario; lending AvP some quantum of claustrophobia AND being logical - the alien can't hide from the Predator in the same place twice, and vice-versa - making for a more challenging hunt.

I dont think Anderson did all that bad with AvP, but I will say the Strauses really knocked the nail right in2 it, and finished for gud. Requiem with its focus mainly on teens was a terrible decision, and the characters they depict, all its homages and nods, the woods, done like the jungle, the Ripley-esqe character in the military mom lol, just felt too in ur face and came across Immature
@Litshttam The only thing Im gonna admit I did like bout Requiem was its use of stereo-types getting killed in the movie, reverse pregnation on the heavily pregnant mother, father and so hunting, even that girl (who was a pure slut type character), but even this was spoilt becus the Strauses didnt go all the way, and instead again showed how much amateurs they were by stylishly cutting every1 of the death scenes of these characters. They purely made that film for kids.

I do like the 'Wolf', though, he's one tough SOB (when he holds off TWO aliens with his bare hands in the sewer scene...!). I think AvP2 should've taken the hint made by Anderson at the end of the first film - make it 'Alien' on-board a Predator spacecraft. With no humans to be seen, and subtitled, it'd been truly alien!

1) Ridley Scott is a better director than Paul Anderson.
2) Prometheus is set in space, something the AvP films failed to do. Not to mention that most of the things in AVP seemed cheesy.
