Hello everyone i got here , and I dont get anything, what is the purpose of this video, that pepole calls "demo" ..what is it showing, or WTF? could someone explain me?
@notreallylive non-interactive audio-visual presentations that run in real-time on a computer. The main goal of a demo is to show off programming, artistic, and musical skills.
Nope this is Mavey code, Skipp music Potion predfuct for M&S POland owns so badly.

Not an Amiga one, sorry. And it uses 3D hardware acceleration, too, which I reckon spoils the fun. It's a cool demo, and it runs in WINE, but I'm going to thumb this post down.
Unbelievable. I could see any couple segments being a 64k demo, but the whole thing? All ten minutes of it? Simply breathtaking. I feel wasteful, watching the rendered version on here, where the FLV is probably 20 meg or more... But it's so much easier than downloading an Amiga emulator! Would love to see more demos posted in High Quality.
When I first saw this video, I was confused as to how it was possible. But, after attempting to make a 4KB demo (and succeeding, actually), I've realised that, in reality, 64KB is actually a LOT of memory in terms of code (unless, of course, you're using gcc.)
Seriously. Try coding a 4KB demo in ASM. If you succeed, you will no longer think this is absolutely pushing it.
P.S. I read on the ADA that this takes up 16MB of FAST mem.
One of the greatest 64k Amiga AGA 060 demos ever released. A true great, potion dramatically improved this over there previous 64k demos from 1999: Gush & Raos. Great code by: Mavey. Great music by: Skip. The in-house 303 emulator engine was pretty cool. Used in Gush and other 64k demos by Potion.
I know people who writing in assembler, and I remember myself in 1995 wroting some system interrupt procedures using assembler, like int 21h for input/output or int 10h for video ;-)
But yes, definetely, this job is impossible to be done in assembler, I agree with you! =)
In my language there is no word like "assembly", only "assembler" that means language and I didn't know about "assembly". Thank you for explanation! )

Yes! 64kB including gfx, music, font and 68k machine code! I mean this and all the other great demos are real ART. Art of coding!
It was a great time on Amiga....
PS: On Amiga a good demo never drops in frame rate like sometimes in this video. You have to see it on a real machine!

How big is the video file you recorded?
would be nice to compare against the 64k of the .exe
JanitorMaster 2 years ago
The .FLV-file that YouTube sent me was 19.4MB.
salmiak911 2 years ago
The actual output is far grater uncompressed the output is probably about 2gb. fr08 produced 1.9 gb google "the product demo"

@salmiak911 But the EXE is 64KB.

Wow, that's very impressive. It often baffles me how powerful the Amiga really is.

THIS is THE best Amiga 64kB intro on classic hardware (680x0 processor) till today.
...And even on the new generation (PPC) the Potion guys still hold the thrown with Planet Potion.

re: One of the greatest 64k Amiga AGA 060 demos ever released
intros not demos , and this production also run on a 030 with fpu too ..
fademan 4 years ago
Yes, true, not sure what made me write it requires a 060 it does in fact require at least a 030 + FPU.
Also at least 16MB Fast RAM.
niobyte 4 years ago
Hmm, I do wonder how long the pre-calc is on a 030 + FPU. Also, the frame rate. I guess that is why a 060 is preferred.
I do have a 68030 @ 33 Mhz Accelerator. Although, I do not use it in my current A1200 setup. Currently using my 68060.
And yes this is a 64k intro.

Who confused - this is a demo (intro) application with 64k size limit (usually written in Assembler). Amazing!!!
yur0k 5 years ago 2
Just assembled with an assembler, not written in it. :)

My point was that an assembler is what translated the code from assembly to machine instructions.
Whatever you write the code in is not the assembler.
Grantax 4 years ago
Is it assembler or no? :)
