  • Big fan of both Numan & Soft Cell. Warriors? Numans worst album. Almond? just being a bitchy queen. Now to the present. Been to gigs of both recently. Almond gig - most people want Soft Cell songs and he regurgitates mostly covers. Nothing new musically and frankly boring. Gary Numan - went to one gig about 3 years ago and been hooked. His new stuff is heavy which upsets some of the old fans. I love both but especially the new stuff. Time has told here - Almond isnt fit to lace Numans boots.

  • i dont think that was numans best era, but again he gets people lining up with their nasty nasty uninformed opinions. EVERY fucker from the late 70's electronic era was influenced by bowie. from john foxx era ultravox to japan. get over it. im sure numan would be the first one to admit that. he still made some great records tho as people like trent reznor, billy corgan, dave grohl, and many many more will attest.

  • Numan is great, but he himself ripped off the early Human League.

  • Oh mark, handbags at dawn then.

  • this just made me sad. i never heard marc almond being a bitch before and i'm kind of disappointed. i stopped watching 'cause it was too embarrassing.

Gary Numan was cool and whether or not he borrowed anything from Bowie - well...everyone did at that time. Bowie did a bunch of borrowing himself from whatever inspired him and it's well known. No one just comes up with his own thing out of thin air - all work is inspired by what's already been done.

  • Oh dear Mr Almond you haven't got a clue have you. What a total a***hole. As for the other 2 morons how seem to have no idea whatsoever about the album-

Warriors is 1 of Numan's best & rightly so.

  • Gary Numan remains a true innovator and one of the music industry's most misunderstood artists. Watch any interview of him and he comes across as decent, humble, gracious, and honest. I think the three people in this clip are entitled to feel embarrassed about their near-sighted, and fatty comments. True, Warriors wasn't great, but his legacy is unquestionable. Mr. Almond hang your head.

  • Who are these 3 jealous biartches that I have never heard of talking a lot of venomous crap about the forefather of electronic music???????? Embarrassing for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Almond is an idiot, where is Almond now????

  • People love to rag on Numan. While Warriors is not a good album, he deserves a lot more respect than these guys/gals are giving him. Gary is still out there doing it and better than ever.

  • "These new romantics are oh so boring"

  • Why is everyone complaining about Marc? I actually thought he was the least catty of the 3. At least he actually sounds like he listened to the record, whereas the others (who the hell are they?!) are just making comments about how daft Numan looks on the cover. And by the way Marc Almond has written good songs, it just that Soft Cell didn't become as massively sucessful as Gary Numan did

  • numan was fantastic on the warriors tour , i went i also went to his tour last month , he has performed consistently well over every decade since the 70's still releases albums , still tours and still works with new acts

almond did some decent stuff in the 80's

    nuff said realy !!

  • AMAZING CLIP! Warriors is a unique and exotic masterpiece, nothing like anything that had happened before. Hence these poor people are just lost, flailing, stumped, uncomprehending. It reminds me of a review I read of Nirvana's album Nevermind in the magazine Q. When Nevermind came out, grunge hadn't been "invented" so the reference points simply didn't exist, and Q compared it - unfavourably! - to the likes of Cinderella and Poison, because that was all that was around at the time.

  • to be fair to Gary,I think there was a lot of shit going on in his life at this time.I remember a year later in 1984 Gary gave a radio interview where they played a few album tracks from "Bersker" album and as a boy who just turned 13,I was completely bewildered by the tracks and his "bersker" totp performance was incredible also, not forgetting the jawdropping -Bersker image!..so the short and the narrow of what im trying to say is that Gary more than made up for this-give him a brake!

  • ok fair enough his image was a bit wrong in tht period he went off the rails a bit but a great musician why should he be slated by a fud like marc almond and his shit music!

  • Gary Numan= the Alan Partridge of Electro. Marc Almond = a god.

  • Let's be honest marc you only made a couple of good songs and one of those was cover

  • Wish I was alive to tell them to fuck off.

  • Featuring Annabelle Lamb - who once recorded with The Sound. As for Marc Almond, poor little know-it-all…

  • Marc Almond...spot on as always.

  • Numan can be like a fine wine, whereby sometimes his work is an acquired taste which gets better over time and you learn to appreciate.

Marc is also like a fine wine, whereby he should just be locked in the cellar and forgotten about.

  • @JarrodCook93 lol how true!

  • erm....i dont think marc bought the album then ??

  • I think Marc would reprimand himself if he watched this now. Anyway, he made some good points - Numan admitted himself that he lost his way and used session players to back him up, and Warriors was the start of that. The Iceman Comes is one of the best songs Numan's ever written - although what would it have been without Nelson on guitar? Just like what would have Dance been without Mick Karn? Numan's overrated. From Dance onwards his career's been a sad joke.

  • @lemoncrushed adding terrific session players to get a sound u want is applaudable... Bowie has done it for years successfully

  • What programme was this off.

  • @upfrontbear74 8 days a week, I think?

  • I always thought he was in his own world,he didn't seem that interested in chit-chat but he seemed manic-depressive {you'd cal it bi-polar these days}. now realising he had/has asperger's puts it all into perspective

  • i think Numan should have got more of Nelsons guitar playing on there and less sax, that really hurt the album imo

  • I met Marc Almond in a cafe and he was really up on himself, i like his music and everything but where is he now ??? at least Gary's still going !!

  • tainted love( cover) something's gotten hold of my heart (cover ) What (cover) days of pearly spencer (cover) almond only wrote 1 decent tune Torch and cindy x made that special. sayhello was good and that was it, whats he doing these days? Cleaning the shithouses at Leeds wharehouse. listen to tainted love and it sound fucking awful even worse than it did back then listen to are friends electric and it still sounds wonderful the true mark of a classic not bubble gum pop like Almonds efforts

  • @replicas11 Memorabilia, A Man Can Get Lost (not Could), Girl with The Patent Leather Face, Barriers, et al? Please!!!

  • In those days nobody knew Numan has Asperger syndrome ( including Numan himself ). Knowing that makes the beginning of Numan's career a lot more understandable. I never understood the extreme image switches, at least he is much more stable now. - He performs and releases music but he should be working on =new= material.

  • Oh the 80s and it's hair!!!

  • Jeez, Marc, don't hold back, OK? LOL

  • Nice to see Gary finally getting the recognition he deserves. At the time of me recording this, Gary was still very much in the background were music was concerned.now, years later, the man can out sell most modern acts and can still produce some of the best music I know. Thanks to everyone on YouTube for your kind comments.makes all the hard work of posting these videos worthwhile.Thanks,themachman19691.

  • @themachman19691 Sorry but Gary Numan is a has been photocopy of David Bowie, he hasn't done anything original ever, it's all taken from other music. What venues has he been selling out recently?

  • @realbadbav not going to answer you simply because your aged 30.

  • @realbadbav cock

  • I think the final analysis is this;- Numan is still filling halls, Marc Almond is filling small clubs.

    Who's having the last laugh?

  • I see that Gazza is still performing to packed houses around the world, where are these people now?I always found it interesting that people were critical of Numan being a Bowie clone when i actually thought he was being Ralf Hutter? Bowie is and always has been great, but he was a great manipulator more than an innovator. Gary Numan popularised the synth sound, he gave so many of these no talent one finger synth players a whole career in the 80's. Kraftwerk owe him for relaunching their career.

  • actually when marc was taken to hospital after being run over ( a few years now) numan did wish he was o.k ..so they do get along.

  • Wow, now I'm starting to see why U.K. bands were aloof when it came to their music critic media. Yikes!

Oh well, if you're being slagged in your own era, then you're likely ahead of your time.

  • Number of those influenced by Gary Numan: countless. Number of those influenced by Marc Almond: 0

  • @randomeddie

The Pleasure Principle released Sept 7, 1979 Systems of Romance released Sept 8, 1978

"Hiroshima Mon Amour" on Ha! Ha! Ha! released October 01, 1977

"My Sex" on Ultravox! released February 25, 1977

  • Marc Almond : I've had two successful records (both of them covers) and I feel confident enough to pass comment on a true innovator. Twat.

  • hehehe :3

  • VERY interesting, thanks so much for posting!! Warriors is one of my favorite albums. - although I think the B sides off it are the real gems - "my car slides 1&2" are AMAZING. I do agree with Almond's comment about the art dept. I work in an art dept and the cover is bad. poorly done. the interesting thing about Warriors is we see a precursor of "sacrifice" and "exile" GN - painting emotion with music. Almond is a fantastic singer, but not the genius of Numan.

  • What a drivelling idiot

  • Numan could have been thinking about Marc Almond when he sang "She's Got Claws." C'mon, Marc. Don't be so catty. You're both great.

  • watch a video called 'Gary Numan voted 7' or something like that. Marc changes his fucking mind.

  • Your entitled to your opinion Skok65.. I appreciate as we live in a democracy...

  • Wow. These people are haters. Warriors does have a silly theme, visually speaking I suppose. The title track is cool but the rest of the album is not so great and this album did mark the beginning of a kind of downward slide. That said, these guests are really negative and insecure and jealous.

If that is Annabel Lamb, she's shouldn't be talking about originality.

  • if it wasnt for Gary Numan who took electronic music mainstream, the likes of Mark Almond wouldnt have had a career. back whenever this tv show was recorded would they have thought Numan would be still around making new music and playing great concerts? proberly not. So what are you doing now Mr Almond?? and the other two nomarks on there with you?, Thanks for the clip, it goes to show many people that Gary Numan overcame a lot of crap like this interview to become a very respected artist

  • Who is Marc Almond?

  • a lot of Marc's comments are spot on, esp where he says there's a lot of humor, but that he thinks Numan is totally serious. i wondered the same thing, if the cover art was a joke, and never could stop thinking about how he said his mother did his hair. but the best part is where the host says he has a lot of serious musicians backing him up, and Marc says, "They should know better." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. how embarrassing for a serious musician to ever have been a member of his band.

  • Comment removed

  • Marc, being a 'bitch', as was his wont at the time.

Thankfully both he and Gary mellowed out as the years progressed.

Indeed it was on Gary's website that I learned of Marc's terrible accident which shows that any bad blood between the two had been long since been sorted out.

  • Marc Almond from 2:40 couldn't be more right.

  • I would love to see a Celebrity Deathmatch animation with Gary and Marc! XD

  • I do like how music stars spoke their minds in the 80's! especially ex Sex Pistols members :) it was honest!! todays bands just kiss their record companys ass! and make out they love everything they hear! its a fake type of positive attitude if you ask me :)

  • I love how studio talk in the 80's was more daring and riskay compared to all the media training and 7 second delay bullshit we get now!

It looks like Marc drank too much babycham! lol

    Great clip!

  • Marc Almond speaks of Numan's lack of emotion. We now know that Numan had a rather serious Asperger's issue at the time. I think Numan's entire perception of all sensory data is filtered ( distorted ). Numan simply doesn't hear things like we do. - When I heard that Numan had Asperger Syndrome the song Sister Surprise came to mind immediately: his ( failed ) version of Let's Dance. - ( I don't agree though with the panel that Numan was in any way a Bowie clone by intention or perception. )

  • @ndroock1 The truth is that there was hardly a decent band in the late 70's/early 80's that wasn't greatly influenced by Bowie and that would be equally as true of Numan as it would of Almond.

  • wow that album must have been kynda rubbish

  • I can't believe people are writing Marc Almond off as a "one-hit wonder." He's written hundreds of songs and is a fantastic torch singer/interpreter and a songwriter of sad and romantic songs. Gary Numan, since the first time i heard him in 1979 or whenever he started out, has no voice; in fact, his voice is simply ugly. I could never understand anyone liking him. He had and has NO charisma whatever.

  • @MissDroplette Numan has a unique charisma which is clearly lost on you, as well as a voice with character as opposed to Almond who sounds like every other nightclub wannabe. And just for the record, Almond IS nothing but a one-hit wonder.

  • @varanid9 Numan can be looked at as a one hit wonder just the same. Soft Cell's first two albums shit all over most everything Numan did after The Pleasure Principal. Almond's a much better singer and songwriter than Numan ever was. I'm tired of people talking about Numan as an innovator. Ultravox w/ John Foxx gave him his muse and he's owned up to it. I'd much rather talk about Numan's ballsy guitar sound on the 1st Tubeway Army record in '78. Not innovative yet awesome none-the-less.

  • @MissDroplette Numan is miles better then Almond, hes got a unique voice, this guy, after Soft Cell, which is pretty much a damn joke, no one heard of him again. where as Numans 70's and a number of 80's stuff, even newer darkwave stuff is pretty damn influential in the electronic/industrial music world, hell all those guys like Reznor, Skinny Puppy, Manson, etc pretty much owe their isolated and disconnected image to Numan, what has Almond done? oh yeah a cover...and thats it

  • Sorry who the fuck are you Marc Almond? You covered one good song with some keyboards, got a fucking muppet haircut and acted like a little bitch. What else?

  • Funny as fuck. Gary Numan was a musical pioneer and Almond is remembered for one song only - and that was a cover. The sketch on "Not The 9 O'Clock News" summed up the twat.

  • Great! thanks for posting

  • This was back in the day when musician's loved to slag each other off. I miss those days lol

  • @dirkbogarde44 Nothing better. And even if they start now it just seems completely retarded.

  • Warriors does have an awful cover. It was a bad look and Almond was somewhat right that Album lacks highs and lows, that is a staple Numan's music. It was a tired album with a bad single, I think I probably like it the least of all Numan's music and he might of done better to not release an album for the 4th or 5th Consecutive year. You feel Numan got bad advice from managers all through the eighties. Almond was pretty much a one hit wonder in hindsight

  • So NIN, Foo Fighters, Damon Albarn, Marilyn Manson...etc, could go on, are wrong,LOL... lets put it down to youthfull banter eh..

  • please guys no homophobic or severe language.ive posted for pure entertainment and the clips pretty rare so dont take it too serious.

  • @themachman19691 The thing I just don't get is the reason and motivation for all these people getting together to talk about an album they have nothing to do with by an artist they have nothing to do with.

  • Your a slutty little bitch Marc

  • Where are the other three guests in 2010?

  • For all the people having a go at marc for voicing his opinion, you do realise you are doing the exact same thing by leaving comments on him?

  • Marc Almond is the guy from Soft Cell. Huge .... in the 80's. He had a somewhat successful solo career as well.

  • Thank you Captain Obvious

  • I don't even know who Marc Almond is, but he sure is pretty pompous. I agree with a lot of what he's saying about Warriors, I don't think it's that great at all (would've been better if it were not for the difficult co-producer perhaps) but it's obvious this guy is just enjoying the attention, getting all of it he can with his banter.

  • They're both a pair of wankers !

  • "No room at all for Mr Numan.." what a wanker.. Firstly, anyone who'll sit there and just dis someone else's work (particularly whilst looking a total twat himself) is at serious risk of someone taking a hard look at THEIR work. Also, I think it's funny that I have no idea who any of these people are and yet I just went to a Numan concert 25 years after I went to my first one - both bloody fantastic! Bowie clone indeed...

  • lol, that guy disses gary's hair, then marc almond is sitting there. okay.

  • almonds major hit was a cover!! whereas numans is ALL original! nuff said!!

  • YOU SAID IT, MARC!!!

  • oh dear. marc pissing off the numanoids for having an opinion which i tend to agree with.

  • @drrtylittlerockstar heh heh ; )

  • I was in London the day after that show aired and guess who I came across? No other than that wanker Almond getting into a cab.Being that I was on holiday in England from America and went specifically to Gary on tour I had a word with him.I made sure he knew exactly how I felt about his comments!Fortunatly there were no cops around...

  • nice!

  • the other bloke is Julien Temple - director of The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle and The Filth And The Fury. Hardly a 'boring fart'...

  • Marc Almond sounds a little bitchy. hehe :P

  • The girl is Annabel Lamb

  • I can Remember Marc Almond but who are the other 2 boring farts?

  • AND, dear angry numanoids: If you wanna defend your idol, fine, but there's no need to underestimate Almond's career. And no need to compare. They are both fabulous artists, with succesfull careers (You don't have to sell 10.000.000 albums to be considered 'succesful')

  • @JAZMINPISACO very fair comment :-)

  • the title of this video is so malicious, I mean "drunk marc almond". if he's drunk or not is non of your business, and he's totally able to give his oppinion, like it or not.

I'm a Numan fan too, but what Marc tried to say, i guess, was that Gary was trying too hard to be something he wasn't on that album, it was a bit fake and forced and it didn't work. I think it must be Gary's worst album, and if someone could ask Gary, I think he would agree.

  • @JAZMINPISACO How is it not someone else's business if someone's drunk or not? Is drunkeness a personal secret? Malicious? Give me a break. Also, Gary has said before that he thinks his worst album was Machine+Soul which came out in 1993 I believe. How sad is it that Marc Almond's most well-known song "Tainted Love" is a cover? Meanwhile, "Cars" and "Are 'Friends' Electric?" are pure original genius.

  • WHY MARC WHY !? :(

  • 3 losers commenting on a legend. . .

  • While I also like Numan, I think he hit the skids with this one. Remember him for his high watermarks at least. Marc isn't being cruel at all; in fact, he seems utterly disappointed with Numan and quite possibly respected him up to this point, so Marc slaggers, give the guy a break!

  • @bartonim I have to agree. I thought they were being quite respectful in their criticisms of Numan.

  • I've now lost all apreciation for Marc Almond...what a complete stuck up arsehole. Numan accomplished more than he ever managed to, lets see...Soft Cell - Non Stop Erotic Cabaret....a hell of alot worse than Numan's 'Warriors' album...then...oohh wheres Marc gone??...oh wait a minute...he can't manage to follow up a really good first album with another that just as good!!

    HAHA

  • OH MY LORD !

It`s like the chef at the local Wetherspoons `dissin` the menu at El Bulli pmsl, you couldn`t make it up, the other two ( who were they again ? lmao) weren`t much better, looks like they had an agenda tbh.

  • Admittedly 'Warriors' was far from Numan's best but christ, for Marc Almond to be taking the p*ss out of anyone's aesthetic quality is a bit rich.

Besides which, Numan is still selling out venues and producing new, contemporary music 25 years later. Where are you Marc? Best remembered for a cover version and a dodgy rumour about stomach pumping. Nice one :)

  • Its very obvious that newman was a Bowie clone as was allot of people around that time. Almond was and is way more origional to say he wasnt just shows your lack of knoladge of his work. Try listening to later soft cell albums or the work he did with Jim Therwell or his many side bands and solo projects.

  • numans career is not going "strong". he sells fuck all records and does small concerts in small venues and the same people turn up at all of them. numans finished and his career is in the toilet. almond is right. he could have been less acidic but warriors was garbage but for a couple of songs and numan never recovered his magic after that record.

  • Unfortunately he could probably hold his next gig IN a toilet.

  • I like both Numan and Almond, but after meeting both I can tell you that Numan is by far the nicer guy. Almond often looked a tit back then too, so how he can slate Numan's image is beyond me. Numan broke synth music into the mainstream, thus paving the way for Almond and many others. Numan was, and still is, vastly more important and influential than Almond ever dreamed of being. Numan remains a dignified man. Whatever happened to Almond though? I'm sure Numan is content having the last laugh.

  • @Spion62 but in later years especially the last decade I think Almond has said nice things about Gary, and frankly I don't think Gary would care, and you are right Gary did pave the way for others as did John Foxx etc, but this was decades ago and I don't think the Warriors album was that bad as someone else posted.

  • @Spion62 Get in the real world

  • @Spion62 Almond was right, warriors is a very average album. And Numan has influenced a lot of pompous stuff. Marc Almond especially with soft cell was Numans equal easily.

  • Wow! This is a bit like watching a "celebrity Idols" 30 years back. Good thing it didn't exist back then. We would have missed out on a lot of good music.

  • No future for Numan? Ha Ha how these arseholes have eaten their words.

And who the fuck is he on the end?

  • Heh, I know it's hilarious. The proof of his musical worth is the extent to which he pissed off the competition, both older established acts and his rival peers. I've always loved the guy, he acknowledges his influences and he's generous to those he himself has influenced.

  • Marc...Marc...Marc...JEALOUS MUCH ?!?!?!

  • Gary Numan? poor rubbish

Marc Almond is a real artist not a comedian like Numan seems to be

  • Marc Almond slags Gaz Numan? He's nuts.

Oh Marc was drunk, that means he loves GN really.

    Pissed, Marc was pissed.

  • well where do we start, firstly numans career spans over 30 years and I have tickets for manchester in november, secomdly where is almond probably back in the gutter where he belongs, thirdly presenter and other two need to go back to the drawing board, all three absolutley pathetic, as for almond stay in the gutter cock.

  • Well...though I am no fan of Almond and this lot...in truth what they say was pretty much true...I remember seeing the cover when it came out...and thought...Rob Halford of Judas Priest should sue the hell out of Numan..but seriously, I liked Numan till he did this disaster..

  • This is pathetic...marc arnold is nothing compared to Numan. While this was not Numan's greatest album it was better than anything almond has ever done or will ever do.

  • i agree with marc...and the test of time has proved marc right.

  • Marc almond isnt half of gary numan. I love this album!

  • Marc almond was talking about the way most singers end up if they run out of songs and ideas !! marc almond was fantastic .......... i do like gary numan but all good things come to an end !! michael

  • Listen to Numan's last three albums, and then listen to Marc Almond's latest. Numan wins.

  • ahahahahahahahaha marc is a mean cunt here... i recognize it......

  • leave gary alone he is great and unique well talented artist and yes he's brill up against you and im actually laughing AT YOU!!!

  • I like a lot of Gary Numans stuff, went to loads of Gigs in the 80's, including the warriors album tour. This album was crap! all that Jazz sax cliche nonsense, well produced good clean sound yea but it was crap. 'I am render' an 'the iceman comes' were alright as songs go.

I bet Marc Almond secretly regarded Gary Numan very highly and was just disappointed with this horrible piece of work. It sure was the beginning of a slippery downhill road, next was 'berserker' and 'the fury'!

  • Bitch bitch Marc, wot about your sex dwarf you can talk but we love it, hehe!!

  • It was a bad time musically for him as he himself admits. Losing Paul Gardiner started the slide imo. Almonds a tosser as though.

  • I love them both but now I love Numan more.

  • MARC¡ MARC¡ SO CUTE

  • As an absolute avid fan of Numan's since he started, I have never read, heard or even seen the slightest implication that Numan himself considered Warriors to be the beginning of the end.

As for Almond, he has admitted he thought it was trendy to slag everyone off in the '80s and he didn't mean anything by it. The guy is and was a talentless prat & considering how revered Numan and his work has since become, it does rather put Almond's contribution to the music business into context.

    Nuff sed

  • well replicas and the pleasure principle are respected critically, but i don't know of any well-known covers or even samples taken from the albums that came afterwards. actually music for chameleons was mimed to by alan partridge. doesn't get much more uncool than that. even if the bass line is awesome

  • not really

  • Marc Almond's a genius so you have to respect his opinion.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MARC NOOOOOOOOOOO ~ ! ! !

ALL I EVER DID WAS LOVE YOUUUU~! NOOOOO MY POISONED ANGEL *weeps*

  • Actually even Numan is on record as saying Warriors was the beginning of the end for him, (1st album he'd co-produced), and as for which is the more iconic, Are friends electric? or Tainted love.... well they're both pretty frequently sampled aren't they? The warriors Mad Max imagery never did, & was never going to work though.

  • I think Warriors was one of his best. Unfortunately, his look for that album was really cheesy and horrible. Maybe that's why people tend to kinda write that album off?

  • I'm a fan of both Gary Numan and Marc Almond and have been for decades but I have to say, Marc Almond comes across as a bit of a tosser here.

  • Warriors was not my favourite album but even it was better than Tainted Love. So screw you Marc.

  • marc almond wishes his sounds were as good as garys.

marc was synth pop gary was a techno pioneer

  • Yes, yes, shut up Marc - say hello, wave goodbye. Lol, Soft Cell were piss weak. I can't imagine Gary Numan slagging anyone off like that; he's such a modest, self-deprecating man.

  • some people are all talk and no action gary numan lives on

  • Its plain competition, Tainted Love vs Cars etc. Today, Almond wouldn't say that cos its too course for todays commentary, its hard to see or say how honest Almond is being here?

  • 1st time i have seen this clip.marc whoever is a nobody trying to big up himself by clawing and scratching at a true rock idol how sad and pathetic

  • I like both Gary Numan and Marc Almond, but to tell you the truth Marc is a bitch to Gary !

  • Hey Aussies!!!

Gary Numan is programming Rage in May. Should be interesting to see what he picks. And Rage have indicated they have a 'pretty decent' selection of his past music videos.

  • And how successful is Marc Almond? Dickhead.

  • Given that his 30 year career is still going strong?

    Hmm I wonder...

  • this guys a prat. I loved Warriors, probably better than Telekon!

i loved the iceman comes and this prison moon! great songs.

apparently there was laods of squabbling in the making of the album and apparently the record company promised him an infinite budget but then dissapointed him..

  • And Gary went on to become known as the God father of dark wave synth.

  • HE TOTALLY IS! Numan rocks yer face!

  • Funny!

  • I remember this interview from the time and laughing my head off! Anybody who does not like it, get a sense of humour!

  • Marc is a genius, no question. Gary? well..........

  • Warriors is deffo not as bad as they say, my centurion& sister surprise, few fillers also. I like the look, its hilarious so at least some entertainment is derived from it. Bowie clone? hmm, well he was good enough to irk Bowie ( Kenny Everett show?). How were the other 2 guests in the clip, Julien Temple? and?

  • The truth is Numan paved the way for all synth bands of the 1980s,I did not know what a sythersizer was, untill i saw him on TOTP in 1979,it was he who open the gates for bands like OMD ,Mode and even bands befor him like Human Leage and even kraftwerk, had its after him,and Ultravox only had hits after he had said,it's was them that had givean him the idear of useing synths.

  • Open the gates for Kraftwerk? Please explain.

  • He opened the gates for them to rock, but they couldn't rock... (Numan could)

  • Numan was never a clone of Bowie and Marc Almond is a total tosser, enough said on the matter....oh yes and where is Marc Almond now and who's covering his music lately, I rest my case

  • I don't think the album was as bad as the panel said, but Numan certainly took off in the wrong direction with Warriors. The electro funk sound got boring very quickly although there were some fine moments(the title track is awesome). The Mad Max image was just silly. I also laughed when I saw the cover.

  • Jeso, get a grip guys. Marc was pissed and it was over 25 years ago for fricks sake.

  • Marc almond criticising gary numan. Cant believe he had the audacity. Marc almond not only made shite music he talks shit shit too. oh and where is he today ? Oh yeah he disapeared into obscurity years ago. The dick head

  • Numan was the whole catalyst for Almond's and many other's career.

I used to have time for Mrs Almond. Now I wouldn't use him as an ashtray.

  • one question... what is Marc Almond doing nowadays?........

even numan has admittted since this album wasn't one of the best he's done....

  • marc is doing nice music....... he is about to launch his final album and retire of the music industry... he had lived rough shit is a acomplished artist !.

  • does that mean we wont have to suffer any more of marc's squawking any more.

  • He's touring with Jools Holland

  • I'm so shocked at how many Numan clips have been taken off just lately. Have you had to re-register as 19691 because of copyright reasons? Big respect to u machman your clips are the best.

  • What Marc Almond says is spot on, what a fantastic clip.

I like the earlier gary numan stuff, but the album they are talking about was rubbish.

truth be told, Marc Almond was so far beyond Gary Numan in every respect, its hardly a fair comparison.
