@chucknorris687 Games (and therefore the other various bits of software needed to run them) back then had smaller file sizes and were less hardware-intensive then today's games.
@Saisen10 Yes it does make sense - how do you manage to overheat a 2MHZ cpu unless you have deliberately mis-wired it or placed it into a blast furnace to operate? The assumption that a 2mhz cpu can overheat with the larger micro-lithographic scale of the early 80's is borderline clinically insane. I have had 286 cpu systems that ran at 10 to 12mhz that could not be made to overheat - so either apple is of poor design at that time (which I doubt directly), or you just wanted to say anything?
@casted02 no the apple II e is a bit older and in my opinion a nicer model/ design and easier to work without hurting your neck to work with/look at the screen for long periods of time. The first one is likely from 79 or 1980. The apple II e was the first ever computer I ever used at school in kindergarten/first grade.
@doxdex1562 none of these machines were originally yellow but this basic beige and grey color combination, it's just the aging of these plastics going yellow is what you see. I'm very happy that you can get most machines in black these days.
figure it out! I was selling a really nice setup of an Apple III and a NEC Spinwriter printer. Expensive, but if you were into writing, it was a nice configuration. Unfortunately, most of the applications were Apple II packages that would run in emulation, and not all of those would run properly. We affectionately called this machine a boat anchor.
Curiously, I quit that retailer and a short time later sold the 2nd Apple Lisa in Los Angeles, yes with the twiggy drives!
This brings back memories. I used to sell these, but the problem was, I would sell 1 to every 100 Apple II+ I sold. We had tons in our warehouse we could not unload. I was the ONLY guy (at least that I knew of) in Orange County CA that could configure the SOS to do things like integrate with a good letter quality printer, etc. Not because I was so smart, but because I had sold the darn thing to people and no one else knew how to do it, so I had to invest about 2 days straight to
The Apple /// is a pretty rare machine - especially the ///+ model with the newer //e-style keyboard. I have a 256Kb /// here which I tested a while ago and it works fine and even managed to transfer a few disk titles over using ADTPro. The entire WAP (Washington Apple Pi) Apple /// archive (hundreds of disks) can now be downloaded so there is some nifty software around for this machine to tinker with.
is it the byte apple brand or lisa?

@Dakkiller1 So if I would get a working one, I should support it with a custom cooling fan?
1xWertzui 1 year ago
@1xWertzui Yea, or make sure that the inside doesn't get too hot. I heard that sometimes the floppies get burnt in their too when it gets too hot

I used ADT to transfer some Apple II games to it .
They'll run most software that runs on a ][+ with the ][ emulator disk.
