good stuff. the old and the new, the seed and the plant etc. gervais must have germenated recently because we riff offa him and guest and murray and farley. but better of course. nah just even more guerilla. not only for artistic value but outta pragmatism. no money..if you like these guys please search dan kidd on youtube or go directly to our channel on youtube: McDego1. love to have new subs and love to hear honest feedback! thanks to all!
As someone who used to have a connection to community theater, I can tell you this film has a hell of a lot of truth in it. And I seriously want Parker Posey to sing that song in my bedroom.
When I see lips waitin' to be kissed, I cayn't stop, IIIII cayn't stop for that lightnin', OOOOO it's strikin' agin. Yeeah. Lightnin' striiikin' agin and agin and agin.
This is not a "clip." It's a montage that you made. A clip is a section of the film. This is many clips made into a montage. It's not a "classic clip" like you said.
hey guys, i'm looking for the scene where they're rehearsing by doing this interpretive dance exercise, and fred willard plays with this snake-like thing and then he's like "forget about it!"...and then he references the joke and he's like "i was like 'forget about it!'". anyone know what i'm talking about? it's HILARIOUS to me and i need to find it on youtube!
When Eugene Levy sings auditions, this has to be one of my favs of the whole movie. I love watching this ... it helps me get through the storms of life cause I just have to belly laugh ALOT!
One day I will find a man who Loves CHRIS GUEST movie genius as much as I do!!
This is one of my favorite movies--this scene is so dang funny!!
And touching on every1 else's comments: Bob Odenkirk as the uncomfortable vampire--hilarious! (BTW, I never *got* the Klaus Nomi resemblance b4 now!) Corky's JT tee, all Flashdanced-up...Eugene Levy cueing the piano in when he starts losing his breath...
you have no idea how many times i rewound this. hahahaha. i loved eugene's bit and how he ran out of breath and just continued with, "aiiiiiiiir." and bob balaban looking like he was almost gonna laugh when he touched the tip of his nose.
Funny, funny film...corky is straight out of the navy with a dance belt and a tube of chapstick! I think the cast members should reform and put the show on for real. Alot of people would pay good money to see it!!!!
I don't think I had heard "Midnight At The Oasis" in maybe 25 years when I saw this scene - and my sides ripped open progressively from there - these people are just on another plain of comedy - now I look at these folks on television and start chuckling before they even say anything.
"And after getting slammed down on off off off off off Broadway and 'Okay, I get the joke!'...".
i noticed the other day that the three songs that eugene levy sings (camptown races, swanee river, and jeanee with the long brown hair) are all able to found on any beginner casio keyboard... and they're all in a row! it's hilarious to imagine his character at home practicing for the audition by singing along with his casio keyboard!!
@baghead462 On the commentary track on the dvd Guest said they used those 3 songs because they were in the public domain. Budget was tight according to him.
In my first acting class in college(I'm a techie, but we had to take an acting class) my teacher let us watch this movie. We were all crying laughing by the end of it and quoting it the rest of the day. This movie is hysterical. Comedic brilliance.
I want Parker to be my pet.

That's because they are all public domain and no royalties have to be paid to anyone for them. That's why Guest used them in the movie

aw really? i've always thought it was eugene levy's hokey characterization of how he chooses awful audition material...bummer =/
