Boo, as a personal monster hunter (tri) player, have some lances in your equipment. They may be slow but the level of attack and defence is awesome. That shield will be your best friend when hunting harder monsters and you can use it to block the explosion while using the lance to detonate large b-bombs at close range. The reach on the lance itself can help for hitting low flying monsters. You can even knock them out of the air with it. Just try them.

A little tip for you, Boo and one you might not have known (At least I don't think) When you enter area 1 there is a pile of dung right in the very edge of the right-hand of the map. It's rare, but sometimes you can find Kut-Ku scales to sell for a decent price. Like I said, it's rare but at least you get quite a profit if you find one, especially this early in the game.

I remember the intro the first time I've got this game long ago, it's pretty awesome seeing the hunters hit the Rathalos, run away and have the gunner shoot it right at it's frickin face. Tri's intro was awesome as well, so it doesn't matter to me which intro is best. Besides they're the same thing except with different monsters and all. And now this, I guess I remembered deleteing which I lost everything. Oh well, I still have this game which I never wanna give away. Well, I wish you luck Boo.
