I admit it is hard to see but there is a hole with an egg in the middle of the bread.
French toast is usually made by dipping bread in an egg batter and then frying it, where Toad is made by cutting a hole in bread, cracking an egg in the hole then frying it.
toad in the hole in england is a traditional dish cooked in the oven with yorkshire pudding batter and sausages. but i like your idea here... will have to try it myself :P
Not tode in the hole man. Ireland, england wherever. It's a kind of pastry/dumpling with sausages in it.

You made "Egg in a basket". "Toad in a Hole" is a kind of pancake dough with Sausages in it.
