  • Hey sorry I'm a car noob but what does it mean to recirculate the air for the bov or w.e?

  • Enjoy a shitty idle and hesitation when you shift with that BOV.

  • How do yo make a SSQV to recirculate?

  • @trobi The HKS BOV should have came with a recirc kit. If not, you can buy them from various places online

  • love my ms3, looking at a BOV for sound but that just sounds annoying.

  • @afeight9 : I used to like the noise it made, but that came at the cost of running retarded rich and backfiring like a mofo. But, if you recirc the air from the BOV rather than making it VTA, then it sounds sooo much better and then the ECU can give you a proper air:fuel ratio. I'll post what the BOV sounds like now that it's recirc soon.

  • @afeight9 CAI or SRI and you get a decent non annoying pshhhhh sound from the stock bpv. And not this "Zelda" Sword striking sound

  • what is the difference between a turbosmart and a hks blow off?

  • @juliensilv different companies make them

  • baker333.. it does not keep the "turbo" running as a turbo cannot run off of it self. It keep the MOTOR running in the car, the same principle as a command start. The harder you drive your car, the longer it cools down for. even after u take the keys outta the ignition the car stays running for that alotted time then shuts off.

  • you can run vta its not a big deal. and the 30 seconds is a fan that cools the radiator. not the turbo so best bet is to leave th car on for a bit.

  • no, you're wrong. a turbo timer in a "program" that keeps your turbo running after your car shuts off. this is so, like astidcrisse said, oil keeps flowing through your turbo to keep it lubricated instead of an instant shutdown.

  • @bakerrr333 the turbo does not run without exhaust... which means the car stays on even after you take the key out ...

  • Shouldn't you let cooler oil circulate through the turbo after revving it up like that? You don't want hot oil cooking in that bad boy.

  • yes he should had , you didnt recirculate it cause they sound like shit

  • Actually the MS3 has a kind of "turbo timer" if we can call it like that that keeps the oil flowing for up to 30 seconds after you turn the car off... though I agree, you can never baby these things enough , I always let mine reste before turning it off

  • I do the same thing, but im getting tire of doing that

  • you didnt recirculate the air back into the engine? how does the car perform with that BOV? i heard bad things if you dont recirc.

  • It's not technically bad for the motor to run it in vta. It just makes it run extremely rich during shifts because the fuel isn't being pulled. I have heard that people run into backfiring and just poor conditions without the proper tune, but will it hurt your motor? The answer from what I've heard is no.
