So what are all these soldiers gonna do when they get back home? Do they stay in the military conducting more or less civil work. Or do they deploy elsewhere like Africa, Asia etc ?
Yo, someone tell me why thi DCfreak ignorant peace of shit is the top comment? Aren't you fuckers decent enough to respect all of us service members? And this ain't even the Force Recon jarheads..Both our Rangers and the Recon jarheads do their job top notch you fuckers.
@vjdsjgc Dude I wrote that dumbass comment a long time ago. Ive changed, I love and respect all branches of the military my friend's uncle was a Ranger and I have loads of respect for him plus Marines and Army are like brothers no matter how much shit they talk at least they get shit done
With all this talk about whos better in my OPINION Infantry is Infantry to me it doesn't matter whether or not who trains a few weeks longer or how far the targets are shot at. It just depends on the amount of effort the individuals put in. And I think when you are getting shot at both are going to give a shit load of effort to stop the shooting by doing what they need to do!
ranher school has nothing to do with the 75th ranger regiment it is just a tough leaderhip course u can go to ranger school but never serve in the ranger battalion to be in the regiment u have to be airborne qualified and then go to rip which is 8 weeks long once u complete that u are a ranger but if u wanna hold a leadership position u have to go to ranger school.and by the way a marine infantry man is no better trained than an army infrantry man
@geocuneva Actually the basic Marine straight out of Boot camp is better trained then the Army's Infantry. Marines are trained to shoot first ask questions later the mind set a Marine has is more intense then any infantry man of any other branch and the fact that army basic is fucking pathetic now, the drill sergeant dont yell at you, you get cell phones at night, they get like a fucking buffet for chow. Where as the Marine Corps basic has eased up a bit not much are still creating fighters.
@TheMegakill Well it has eased a little but not much and the only reason is cause the people that have never been in the Corps believe that the way that the recruits are being treated is morally incorrect. They believe that the recruits are being miss treated. If ever talk to a Marine and ask them if they think you are missed treated in boot camp they most likely will tell you that its because the Marines are finest fighting force in the world and in war nobody is nice so the training in
@TheMegakill boot camp is all for a reason you are stressed out in war so boot camp brings the stress to you so when you are in war you will understand how to take the stress and to keep a level mind. The Marines are the only branch that still train warriors the rest adapt to the times and give you the comforts of home in basic but that comfort isn't in war or in life so the marines are the only one left who still believe that wars still need to be won.
@GamePath Ok bud just cause your a ARMY groupie dont mean you know shit either. And the shit i learned was from men in the Corps past and present. so before you go getting butt hurt and looking for comments from months back to just add your 2 cents, you should just think before you speak.
@ranger12392 I did think before I speak. You're not military, your attitude wreaked so bad of it I could smell it coming out of my speakers.
And I'm neutral, I don't really care which branch is "better". Just kinda gets on my nerves when someone isn't even in the military spouts out BS. Sorry, just saying it as it is.
@ranger12392 personally the army has the 82nd airborne ,101 airborne,173 airborne, and 10th mountain division infantry which have very high standard and are great fighters and dont take people like that and personally i think these infantry units are as good or better than any marine infantry units but if u feel marine infantry is way better i respect your opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111
@geocuneva • Marine Boot camp. 12 weeks army Basic: 9 weeks. Marine riflemen training shots: 500m army: 300m Marine snipers train for: 9weeks army snipers train for 5weeks Marines snipers shoot to: 1,000m stationary and moving targets army snipers: 800m Marines kick ass: since 1776 army kicks ass: not in the past 20yrs
@0331usmarine Army OSUT: 13 weeks. Army shoots pop up targets with an M4, Marines shoot targets that sit still with an m16. Marines Snipers train longer, because they also train for Reconnaissance hence the name Scout Sniper, while the Army is just plain sniper. Army sniper course has a higher drop out rate than Marine Scout Sniper school. They are both good at what they do.
i served in both and il be the first to tell you that its not true. army infantry school is a 3 week long course the marines is 9 i believe. theres no way you can fit 9 weeks of detailed instruction into 3 weeks. no way......
@da1booger13 Ranger qualified by fitness, every male Marine who passes the CFT with an average score, is good enough to try out for Rangers school in ratio.
Ok, the BASIC Marine is Ranger qualified right out of boot camp, RECON, obviously kicks the ass of Rangers. So you cannot say that a Ranger could take down a Reconner, we are trained to eliminate even the deadliest enimies, and we do our job well. 0321, 0316, OOORAH.
Alright, I'm definately not in the military, and I respect both soldiers and Marines...But a BASIC fresh out of boot camp Marine is Ranger qualified you say? I think you may have gotten a bit excited...I mean, what exactly do you mean by Ranger Qualified? Because if you're saying what I think you're saying then well, you just made an outrageous statement.
As a former Marine grunt who loves the Corps, and respects the hell out of the RECON Marines...I assure you the Army Rangers are no joke. They are not like the typical U.S. Army Infantry unit.
I can confirm that these dudes are bad ass. I was on my way to a Cold Weather exercise to Norway with a platoon from 2nd Force Recon Company in 1984. I'd get up early every morning to watch them do a killer PT session. Then later in the day I'd observe them studying all kinds of shit in the ship's library. One morning I got up and they were gone. They had cut a whole in the ice and swam to shore in the middle of the night! Hard Core, Bad Ass, Mofo's.
I'm confused... Why do people treat the special forces like they are some sports team? Stats are for the sports teams, so how about you guys chill out!
@MrDanielcabriales they dont beet the rangers berets or the seals the recon group is still new and they are still perfecting their training, they are like babies
Recon Marines are descendants of Marine Raiders, who were the 1st Special Forces Unit EVER. Per man they have a higher kill ratio than any other unit in Afghanistan, and still are the most decorated small unit in the US Military. I would say these men are equal in individual quality of any other SF or SO unit out there.
@0321Hitman I was in F2/6. I'll agree w/ your first part of the comment, that's documented, about the "per man" thing though,.....I don't know,.........not argueing. Just havn't seen proof on that.
@chimichanga1254 who the fuck are you? USMC Recon dont beet rangers? A squad of Recon would desimate an entire army rangers company. Fucking troll eventhough i cant say im not either but Marines dont play around Army isnt anything nowdays
@theBrownman28 i'm a former recon marine. 94- 97, 1st mar div recon co. 5th platoon team 1. and while the rangers are tougher than average, ranger school is just one school that a recon marine go to. airborne scuba recon ranger. ps. i will drown a s.e.a.l. in a cup of water.
@chimichanga1254 Better educate yourself Son. Recon occasionally trains w/ SEALs. And no, I'm not some "arm chair" warrior shooting my mouth off. Far from babies, they were formerly known as "The Marine Raider Battalion" back in the 40's. Took on the roll of Recon during Korea(perhaps before, not 100% clear on when). I talked to a Ranger once home on Leave & had nothing bad to say about us Marines.
there is most definitely a force recon that is not a part of marsoc. there was a force platoon that was integrated into the bn on that deployment. please dont spew ignorance and pass it off as gospel
@J0SHakaMARINE its harder then it looks, just the start to even being considered for recon is a high asvab score, then 300 score pft.. shoot expert, etc.
@DCfreak87 Dont disrespect the rangers bro,I can guarantee you they get in more Taliban's faces than Recon does(since the point is to do recon). Also "Force Recon" has been deactivated, this guy is in Division Recon most likely which is apart of the MSOR(Marine Special Operation Regiment.)The remaining Force members have been intergrated into MSOR as operators.
If you want to compare someone to the Rangers in the Marines,it'd have to be the MSOB's.As they are the DA/CT element of MSOR.
@DCfreak87 Oh well say that next time =P.But no Force Recon has more or less been fully integrated into MSOR. It's still a unit, but it's not, "I'm going to join Marine Force Recon",it's" I'm going to join MARSOC and attend Recon training and hope I get put into Force based upon my skill level".
1st of all Recon Marines do more than just Recon. They have actually been operating as an interdiction and maneuvering force (ambushing, raiding and tracking down) the enemy. 2nd they had the most kinetic activity (Firefights, Indirect fire and Supporting Fires) than any other unit in Afghanistan OEF 2010...EVER. (They also have the record for most ordinance dropped in one day). Rangers are all bark no bite. Look at the FACTS.
@0321Hitman When did I say all Recon did was Recon?I said that the marines have plenty of units that are able to do DA and Recon isn't the top "special operations group" so to speak in the marines. The Marine special operation battalions are, and that's a FACT. Also Rangers have had more successful missions than any other unit in history, they are known for getting the job done. So don't try to say they are ALL bark. Many of them go on to win Marathons and succeed outside of the military as well
@GamePath Not at all dude and you do realize that ignorant comment of mine was written a long ass time ago. Ive changed, I know the difference between the two and Im actually sorry for disrespecting the Rangers I think all military branches should be respected. Hell, Marines and Army fight along side eachother they got their backs always because theyre on the same team. I admit Ive fucked up but dont think you can be bashing on saying you're in the military until you can prove you are
Who the fuck cares who better? This is the USA not some pokemon duel. They all do what needs to be done and they're damn good at it.
