Okay, my theory is Arthur already knows about Merlin's magic. He looks totally unsatisfied and kinda disappointed with Merlin's answer like he knows Merlin's lying, but he doesn't press the matter.

And come on, Arthur may be a prat, but he's hardly an idiot. When Merlin finally reveals his magic, Arthur's just gonna be like "Duh. Now that I know, you can do twice as many chores."

@wingsofdrkness I'd imagine that if Arthur were to learn Merlin's secret his first thought would be "how could my friend betray me like this?" and his second would be "why hasn't this sorcerer killed me?" The more he thought about it, the more he'd realise how kind Merlin's been and be thankful.

I doubt he knew at this point. If he did, he'd have been a lot more agreeable. "Thanks for not turning me into a toad when I rubbed your face in dung. Why don't you take the evening off?"

@RenardeBlanche, I could definitely see it playing out that way with Arthur feeling betrayed and then realizing Merlin's been saving his ass this long because they're friends and not for any ulterior motives. I actually think that'd be a great episode.

However, I don't think he'd be more agreeable. lol It is still Arthur.

When it occurs to him that he's been bullying and humiliating the most powerful wizard on Earth for years now, and that that wizard no longer has to hide his power from him... @RenardeBlanche, Well, I would hope he'd have that much common sense, but he's been bullying Merlin for a long time and even with all of that power, Merlin hasn't retaliated (in any serious way). I just hope when Merlin reveals his magic, Arthur will respect him more.

Although at times, he does deserve to get thrown into a wall.

@Floppsy78 Eh, long story. Arthur got wounded and Merlin was trying to look after him when an old man dondered over and made Merlin see the future. It pissed Merlin off and seriosuly freaked him out, so now he's generally scared and worried about what's gonna happen and he just wants to get back to Camelot quickly and fix it. Think that's roughly right. =)
