i got iritis in my right eye from getting poked pretty deep in the eye while it was open, the funny and ironic thing is my prescription eye drop is called FML
The injections into the eye are not at all painful as the nurse puts an anesthetic onto the eye with a cotton bud before hand. Just for all those people who seem a little concerned about having the injections, it's really not as bad as it sounds, although my ex husband passed out watching me have it it done ;)
I have had iritis for over 10 years now. I had the same procedure .. you might want to think about getting a new doctor. Never had that happen to me. Things I've learned .. I keep my drops with me all the time, I am putting drops in my eyes to stop them from getting dry, take a NSAID from your doctor (ibruprofen) and get PLENTY of rest. You need to find out what the primary cause of your iritis is. It is a very painful condition I definately feel your pain.

Iritis is an indication of Ankylosing Spondylitis which is a deformity of the spine, pelvis, digits, chest and other organs in the body ie: eyes. Iritis is nasty i have had injections into the eyeball, it's bloody awful, hope you feel better soon!
Yes i had and still get bouts of iritis.. my eye got red sore and gritty.. any kind of light on it was so painful.. years ago i was rushed to hospital on verge of collapse with pain.. got injection into WHITE part of eye.. never forget that.. they told me at the time it was Back relater.. so eventually i was diagnosed with A.S. or Spinal Arthritis.. so ask your DOC to check out.. Your Eyes tell alot about your general health..

Im 13 and i have reacurring iritis!
Bloody hurts! My eye is always red on one side of the iris!

OMG i never knew you might need an injection when you get iritus. i got it over christmas and they just gave me drops.
