  • Good video, but shame it didn't show him "making up" the film. Unless someone else did it?

  • A floowup to the last question. What do you do if the movie is threaded wrong ?

  • @kraftwerk144 You have to fix it. You have to make sure it's threaded up correctly as you go.

If you have not yet threaded it through the projector, you can pretty much un-thread it and start again if necessary.

  • @kraftwerk144

Depending on how you've threaded a print different things can happen. One possible mistake is to have the film threaded in such a way that it rubs against a surface causing the film to be scratched. Another mistake might cause too much tension to be put onto the film, causing it to snap. There are a bunch of different thigns that could happen, but if you pay attention while you're threading it up there should be no mistakes. It helps to check after you thread it too.

  • I have One Question. How do you know if the film is threaded right ?

  • @kraftwerk144 It's basically just a matter of learning how to thread it up & run the projector.

When you learn how to run the projector (including threading it up, etc), you learn exactly how it should look and sound when it's threaded up right.

As long as you remember each step, you shouldn't have too many problems.

  • please looking video cinema in carvajalcine youtube

  • It started out ok but you lost me as soon as you got into the booth get a better camera and how many times have you threaded a proj, I could of threaded 5 fucking shows in that time you kinda suck harsh but true

  • The camera used was a Sony PD150, one of the best low light sub $10K cameras you could buy a few years back and is still an excellent camera. The projectionist, a friend of mine was going intentionally slow so that people could absorb the process and was working at unusual angles so I could get into pretty tight spaces with my camera. You've really got a problem and you kinda suck.. harsh but true.

  • its cool how every booth looks different. i pride myself oh having, as the auditor said "the cleanest booth he's ever seen"

    yeah.

  • This was shot across three or 4 different projectors being threaded up. Some were so tight of a space to work in it was unbelievable. Glad you enjoyed your work enough to reflect it in you environment.

  • It really is like I'm back in the booth right now.

but idk why he had a brain on the middle platter...

  • I don't really know what you mean by a brain on the middle platter (I'm not the projectionist.. I just make the movies :-) as far as you previously removed comment, I have no idea why he pulled off as much leader as he did. It seemed right buy the time the projector was threaded though.

  • @filmfanatic1017 once the movie is played through he will string it up again, but this time the film will be on the middle platter, so he will run the header through the brain on the middle platter, its just convienent to have two brains rather than switching in between movies.

  • @filmfanatic1017 What harm is there by having a brains in both decks?

  • OHH MAN I FEEL LIKE IM AT WORK

  • what is the title of this musical track in the back? It's wonderful.

  • The Group is Penguin Cafe Orchestra and the Album is "When in Rome". One of my favorites for sure. I'm on the road and don't have access to see the track

  • Thanks a million!

  • Hey, did he really have to pile the leader on the floor. You do know you can thread from platter to platter without putting the leader on the floor.

  • Yeah, lace to the top of the gate, come back under and to the return platter, then pull the leader through and lace it, then tighten up the tension arm :D

  • I agree with ya, unecessary amount and leader and clear leader.. even with you have the film dragging through your fingers like you do which is the proper way to do it you will still gather quite a bit of dust on that Emulsion side of the film over time, will slowly go from the Trailers to the policy to the film :(

  • Nice. Oh how I miss the miles film.

  • Nice film,

  • Oh, and thank god for digital! I can read a book now :)
