  • In that case his reasons for using that approach need to be examined more deeply. He does it because it's effective. On the surface it may appear to be about power. Underneath it is likely about trying to overcome feelings of helplessness. When you and he understand the underlying need and how to better meet it, pulling knives will no longer be necessary.

  • I found this video doing a search and it is VERY helpful, but my question is, what if my spectrum child doesn't just say the words but tries to act on them (i.e. grabbing a knife from someone making dinner, etc.) and actually trying to harm someone? He seems to have no connection between the action and what the consequence would be.

  • @briankinglecsw Bless you and thank you very much :)

  • @mcladyollivah You're most welcome.

  • Hi Thank you so much for posting this video. I woke up this morning at my friend's house and her little nine year old sister who has been bullying me for a month came in with scissors and saying "I'm gonna stab you." Its a horrible situation I am in. I took a taxi to my friends appartment and I am hiding here. Everyone is angry at me because I left and it is mothers day. Respectfully I should be there for my friend's mom because I am staying with them (in a different country). Thank you for this

  • @mcladyollivah I sure hope everything works out today.

  • Thank you for a new approach.

  • @StevoArtist You're very welcome.
