@Hakudohshi Not Missouri. The state Dept. of Conservation issued a shoot on sight order on all Ferrel and wild hogs in the state in 2996. It remains in effect today. A hog domestic or otherwise wandering the country side is a target. Even a hog with an ear tag is not immune, if it's loose and running free, it's a target. I have killed several on my place in the last couple of years.

what they leave out is that the main reason why the population increase has gone up was the release of farm pig right after the pork market bottomed out thanks to corporate farms that drop the price on the hoof to low for small farms to pay to feed their hogs. most if not all small hog farmers simply let go their hogs since they lost so much money rather than killing. hog farming was a very lucrative business before corporate farms came into the picture.

The best wild boar caliber will be the "8x57 IS" or the "9,3x62" (the 9,3x62 is the same caliber for repetierer; the 9,3x74 R you will use for drop barrel rifles).....both of them are not to "fast"; so you have on one side the best results in front of (in puncto) usable meat with no great hematoma and on the other side you can "allay" the boar on place.
