  • This song by Bing Crosby is my favorite Christmas Carol. All the versions of this song that I have heard are very good, but his is amazing.

  • I love the choir voices 1:02-1:06

  • I love this version. My christmas was super bad and this made it feel a little better

  • do you see what I see. A dislike bar. I don't see it either

  • Gremlins.

  • @Theafterguy This is the version?

  • 10 dislikes? nice try devil

  • One of my childhood classics. hearing this is part of my Christmas memories.

  • I think Bing Crosby needs to hear a knock on the door from DCF, this guy used to beat his kids with bags of Valencia oranges so they wouldn't leave bruises, true fact, look it up and a Merry Christmas to all!

  • @AJBMP43 I knew he was abusive but I didn't know the specifics. I'm glad I didn't know it as a child

  • @starshine428 You know, I think it's interesting that half the time a famous person dies, one of their kids write a book about how they were abusive. Not saying Bing wasn't abusive, but just a thought...

  • @TaurusSHO97 You have a good point. The courts require someone to confront in court the person they're accusing of a crime. i can think of two different reasons why someone would wait until their parent is dead to write that kind of book. 1) They respect/love the parent and don't want to ruin their rep or celebrity while they're still alive or 2) They're afraid of the retaliation even as adults. Like you said, makes you think

  • @AJBMP43 Did you know that the stories of him beating up his kids was actually made up/ extremely exaggerated by one of his sons in a book in order to get money?

  • @rhumbustification Did the kid confess that it was? Where did you learn this?

  • @starshine428 In a television interview with one of his sons (I think his name was Phillip)

  • To me Christmas will never be Christmas without Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Nat King Cole, & Andy Williams. They sing lots of inspiring and fun Christmas songs ever. Happy Holidays Y : )

  • The second verse of this song is one of my all time favorite verses in the history of music. The back up vocals (song high above the trees) is exactly what I picture when thinking of angels proclaiming Jesus' birth. Truly great performance!

  • I grew up with this album! It reminds me of Christmas Eve in our little tiny house (but there was room for a giant record player - took up one whole wall! - huge speakers!). I'm 48 now, and my dad just found an old record player, and the old Christmas albums have resurfaced. Ahhh! Nat King Cole, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Patsy Cline, Roy Rogers...

  • Its not Christmas without this

  • Bing Crosby had the best bass-baritone voice ever, bar none.

  • This has always been my favorite Christmas song.

  • The best christmas music around!

  • Sweetness and light.

  • love this song!!

  • ever since I watched Gremlins this song kind of scares me lol

  • I am only 5 years old and I hate my generation because I don't want to be like them, now Im cool because I liek old musik!!!1

  • @panaman42 Amazing that at the age of five you can spell big words like "generation."

  • @docholloway530 - Sadly your God has nothing to do with Christmas except as a usurper (all guided by the Church of course.) That being said, merry christmas and happy new year.

  • Best Christmas song ever. I like this original version too Bing's voice is awesome and very comforting.

  • Bing Crosby had one of the supreme voices of the 20th century. Frank Sinatra, Ol' Blue Eyes himself, stated he learned how to be a star by studying Bing's style. That's saying something.

  • This song is actually a protest calling for peace during the Cuban Missile Crisis believe it or not.

  • To my cousin Frank, when he stepped in Shit...Do you Smell what I smell?

  • Love this song

  • Gotta love Bing Crosby. Angry abusive drunk, but a voice of gold.

  • Simply the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fucking scary tune.

  • I love the chord progressions in this song.

  • GREMLINS!!!!!!!

  • happy christmas everyone!

  • @sharpteeth17x929yw u tooooooooooooooo!

  • I had to see what that JLS version that everyone in the comments was talking about sounded like. What was that?!?! I turned it on and couldn't get through it.

Thumbs up!!!

  • i love this song

  • Happy holidays to all !

  • Happy holidays everyone

  • @waterman1976 happy holidays to you too i love the holidays its my fave season of all time

  • Grew up with Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole every Christmas introduced them to my niece today... She's not sure what she thinks this is her first real Christmas she just turned 5 =)

  • Please be more specific!!!

  • @TrueReload14 how more specific can he be? this is bing crosby singing "do you hear what i hear", as mentioned in the title

  • @Anonymous52550 Well what did he see and hear?

  • @TrueReload14 are u even listening to the song?

  • @Anonymous52550 Oh my god never mind!

  • @TrueReload14 forget about the title and just listen to the song LOL XD

  • This reminds me of my mommy :) I love my mom

  • every time on the radio when "do you hear what i hear" comes on, its by a different person and i dont like it. i hav only herd this version 2 times on the radio this year nd i luv this version!!!

  • hi mr. hurley!

  • So the youth have been taken in and exploited by marketing again ! They think JLS wrote this ? Come on - their controllers have taken a familiar hook from a Christmas song, adjusted it and put it into the next JLS release just in time for Christmas thereby giving it a high chance of becoming Number 1 in a couple of weeks.

    Genius ! ! !

  • It's not Christmas without Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra

  • @joedaless I'd give you more thumps-up's, But I'm only allowed 1 vote per comment.

  • @joedaless Don't forget Dean Martin

  • @joedaless Without child abuse and binge drinking? Right on.

  • @Kindahuge hey whats wrong with binge drinking?????lol child abuse is bullshit tho

  • @joedaless

I could not agree with you more. Merry Christmas to you and your family. PEACE ,LOVE.JOY TO ALL THE WORLD.

  • I hear and see what you hear and see, Bing, finally hope and love!

  • Can't wait 'till Christmas!!!!! :D

  • This version by Bing Crosby is a lot more inspiring than Johnny Mathis's version. It was first heard in Christmas 1963.

  • @yogafan6500

bing crosby recorded this song right about the time JFK was shot.

  • Best version there is. No one can be as good at this song as Bing Crosby is.

  • Awesome version . . . !

  • why would someone dislike this? unbelievable

  • @pinkfreak0105 The only reason they were relatives of Scrooge and Jacob Marley.

  • Another of my Favs Thanks to my Mom

  • Thumbs up if you also think jls are pricks for singing this and adding that stupid beat to it >:l

  • I started to listen to JLS version, just to see what's going on, one word blasphemy

  • Bing makes me get goosebumps, awesome.

  • Bing was feckin awesome!

  • sadly tho, i donno if there will ever be world peace. dosent mean it cant or wont happen, its just hard to picture it sometimes

  • To think JLS have sampled this NOT GOOD!!!

  • Cuban Missile Crisis. Nuff said.

  • What a shame JLS have murdered, buried, dug up and then cremated this song just to make sure they ruined it!!

    JLS suck

  • Many music artists have performed this song successfully but Bing Crosby's version is by far the best out of all of them!

  • @msteber88 i agree no one can beat this version

  • My mom loved watching Bing's movies. She died in February and just listening to his amazing voice makes me feel like shes here with me.

  • if any of the new generations thinks anybody sings better than Bing Crosby, they are probably right because their heads are filled with all the rap and crap that is being played now days that just pollute their minds with filth and violence, so if anybody here is from the old generation and you are still listening to BING CROSBY, my hat is off to you, because you know real good music!!!!!!!!!

  • @warrioreagle54 Im only 11 but i love bing crosby and hate my generation of music

  • @warrioreagle54 I am 13 from the new generation and i looooooooooooove listening to Justin Bieber but also old generation musiclike dean martin, frank sinatra, Louis armstrong

ETC... and disney music so i completly think u r right about old generatin music. I hate rapping

  • My fav Xmas song =D

  • It's not Christmas without Bing

  • This is how the song should sound JLS. Sit down and listen.

  • @InkFlavourJelly omd stfu! theeres is like waayyy better than this

  • @MissJLS28 ...I can't even....Let's just agree to disagree, shall we?

  • Why are you guys talking about Justin Bieber I mean really he has nothing to do with this version, Just enjoy the song geez

  • The British band, jls, have ruined this amazing song with their pathetic sample taken from bing's song. Search for JLS do you feel what I feel

  • @mramo JLS' is waayy better

  • @MissJLS28 Wayyyyyyyy better eh? lol Nah dont think so sweetheart. You are aware JLS dont write their own songs. By the way youre quite fit, do you fancy a date sometime soon in Middlesex? ;o) x

  • @mramo ermm eww ur disgusting! im only 14! ur probly sum next paedo ......and they dont write there own song?! u idiot yes they do...sometimes they co-write but most of them they write themselves so shut ur mouth!

  • @MissJLS28 you stupid twatchop, of course JLS dont write their own songs! LOL JLS are a bunch of retards just like you. You obviously cant justify why JLS are better than Bing Crosby? I urge you to get in touch with your dead Great grandfather & channel some cryptic information from his grave to get an insight on Bing Crosby. Then youll realise how far better Bing Crosby is to JLS. Youre 14 so what the hell do you know about life? LOL

  • We will never forget you Bing, thank you for sharing that gorgeous voice with the world

  • Amazing song! Does anyone know who the backup singers were?

  • I love these old songs, I don't feel ashamed just because some others don't for whatever reason. The music makes me feel good and the love of God fills my heart whenever I hear it. I even love the haters, God forgive them because they are confused, untrusting and suffering inside. I would that God just took all that anger and pain away from them so they could feel the joy of the Lord during this season which was set aside for Christs' rememberence.

  • @docholloway530 lion king,,

  • @docholloway530 Bless you.

  • @docholloway530 Amen! Couldn't have said it better!

  • This makes me think of my friend who loved this song. :')

  • THIS is the way to show Christianity's love; NOT homophobia or hatred. :')

  • @Erniethecatisawesom amen music and well you know the word wont come to mind.

  • I love this song everytime i hear it i get chills and the best part is that it's about Jesus Christ :) !!!!!!!!!

  • Do you see what I see? Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I'm not sure anyone could have a more epic title.

  • The 5 dislikes obviously came from those who were drinking spiked eggnog at the time.

  • I cry everytime I hear this because it makes me think of Christmas with my dad, he could sing just like Bing.

  • @dieanotherdayable is he not with us?

  • JLS Have done a verson ov this <3

  • as much as I may hate to admit it, this song is a legend from an era that has long since died. Christmas once meant more than a great commercial opportunity for walmart and toys r us. Christmas was a spiritual and family tradition, and American society is going down the tubes without those same principles.

  • @Rjr00111 So true man. It's all about presents now. Really sad.

  • I remember this being used in Gremlins. Scary scene......

  • When I was a kid Bing Crosby was pretty much the voice of Christmas in our house. On moms old record player.. Man I feel old... If you think about the lyrics though this song is pretty nuts. Tim Hawkins ruined it for me lol "The sheep said to the shepherd boy" hes been a little to long.. I can see the conversation now "what?? We have to go tell the mighty king!"

  • ahhh its october and christmas cant come slower

  • @polishprincessoioi12 oh i cant wait

  • It's only october and i'm all over christmas music! Thumbs up if you are too! :)

  • @paramorefan2323

Here is my solution to your dislike of chrismtmas music. Two ice pics for one for each ear...find one 8 inches long and push hard.......Santa :)

  • @meb854 excuse me? I love christmas music ass

  • Thank you for sharing :)

  • These songs are Classics, and will never be outdone.Cover them as you will, tthey from a time when Christmas meant something.Newer artists can sing them, but never will be better.

  • How does someone dislike a classic from one of the masters of the Christmas song. nobody does it better. I do not believe the Bieb can get anywhere close to that level of sound, without electronic help..

  • thumbs up if your watching this in september

  • 4 people are definitely on the naughty list this year!

  • epic ending!!!!! wowed me definitely! plus the background vocals were just amazing!

  • one of the greatest christmas songs ever

  • 4 dislikes? Let us bring 'em switches and coals!

  • @ThomasJamesAlford I agree dislikes they must be tone deaf

  • Try to find an artist today with a voice that low.

  • @6blanks - i'm not really an "artist" but this song is in my range - i'm trying to get it ready for Christmas 2011

  • @ThomasJamesAlford That's awesome! But what I meant in my comment was that nowadays, there are no popular artists with a voice like Bing's. (Bieber, Lil' Wayne, etc.)

  • @6blanks - thanks to youTube, everyone is potentially an artist :)

  • christmas song this is my fav...love it

  • Thank you Bing, for puling me out of the soulless vacuum that is pop music!!!

  • i love this song im listing 2 this song in july!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thumbs up if your listening this because of christmas in july :)

  • That arrangement, those lyrics and Bing's voice actually make you believe that "He will bring us goodness and light"!

  • The best version of this song. Bing, still one of the best crooners ever!

  • Just another amazing american classic:)

  • Thumbs up for Gremlins.

  • badda BING.

  • @victorwasright ...badda BOOM BOOM LA TUSH.

  • A CHILD A CHILD SHIVERS IN THE COLD LET"S BRING HIM SOUL SLIVER AND HEART GOLD I AM TALKING ABOUT POKEMON DID U HEAR WHAT I SAY?:(

  • ...and now you know why they're called Classics and music today isn't

I believe most singers have an awesome voice however afraid to make the leap to change their style

  • His voice is eargasmic

  • @CODRD legit rabbi got u to listen to this didnt he?

  • @MrMuchbetterthenyou i've known this singer for ages, i went and watched legit rabbi's vid straight after

  • 3 bieber fans didn't hear what he heard....

  • @drkltsjc now its 5

  • @drkltsjc more like 5 now lol

  • @drkltsjc i <3 JB but i did hear he heard.

  • @drkltsjc ha! thats funny

  • @drkltsjc it's six now

  • 3 bieber fans just heard real singing...

  • @drkltsjc As far as I'm concerned, Bing had more talent in his pinky than Bieber will ever have in his whole body.

  • Have you even heard the original though, I mean give the original a chance!!!!

  • i love this song god bless every one

  • This song is certainly lovely and heartfelt and Crosby's delivery seems sincere and loving but a purported savior born humbly and in discomfort in Roman times would be ill served with the message that we should lavish silver and gold upon someone we looked upon to bring a transcending meaning to ordinary life. Just an opinion of course.

  • why would someone dislike this song? no soul

  • I love this song. It is one of the best christmas songs ever. Justin Bieber is gay and a pervert. Never listen to Justin Biebers music. There are three scrooges.

  • I have to agree with the first two comments, you know? With the thumbs up..

Today's singers are all about how high they can get their voices and it's quite annoying cause some of them go out of their comfort zone, and that isn't what singing is about. And I constantly hear 'singers' not into their songs, and that's annoying too.. older singers for the win, they make up 1/2 of my itunes :) not to mention that I can play this song on the keyboard, and it's better with some sort of duet.

  • finally some real music. lol. Majority of the singers today just don't do it as good as it used to be.

  • Much, much, much better than Carrie Underwood's version.

So simple yet majestic and full of emotion. Something American Idolers will never understand.

  • Hey robo...lets not forget Harry Connick Jr. A native of New Orleans. he's got the classic crooner voice. Of course you're still right..there's little today that compares with the originals of our time.

  • WTF an oppressor? OMG Bing Crosby!!!!??? Now I have heard EVERYTHING! But hey you ARE entitled to your OPINION...

  • 3 people are Scrooges!

  • i<3hisvoice.

  • finally some good music that you can actually feel the meening of the song-all other versions of this song should be burnt...NOW

  • Happy Christmas everyone. We all miss Der Bingle.

  • This song makes me tear up and think of past christmas days ;_;

It pisses me off that my work constantly plays terrible covers of this song, this is the only good version of the song.

  • I love that Christmas song.

  • its not christmas till i hear this song <3

  • i was one of the persons who clicked ''dislike''. the carol sounds dryish, like a march. yes, it is sung flawlessly and arranged perfectly, with a chorus and bells, but it does not bring tears to my eyes, unlike with other singers. i don't hear the emotions. women singers interpret this amazing carol way better. you feel the motherly warmth. and they make you believe in "the goodness and light".

  • Who would ever dislike this!? 1 person here is blind, because he cannot see what I see.

  • @shadowlion96 i am not blind. i simply do not hear what i should hear.

  • Makes me think of Gremlins. Great song
