Great video !!! Once you have all the slices, could you then use an appgiator, set to random or whatever to add a simler effect?? I did someting like that but with rex loops in Reasons, moved them on the grid then used an RPG8 and played with the gate and note length to get "random" drumming.
@EmcFRAKTAL Im glad you liked my I O U comment on How To Ableton.........Even though Iv been producing music for about a year now (just over),iv only recently switched to Live 8, from Reason 5,so learning stuff like this is SOOOOO helpful.I tried a QUICK "Legato Style" effect on 3 slightly different basslines chopped and arranged in clips and it sounds OK.Im gunna spend more time and start again and try and get the complextro type sound, but it works better than I expected.THANKYOU!!!
Very nice man, he def uses reverse vocals in scary monsters because if you listen backwards it is the chorus/verses or whatever in reverse! Along with a few other vocal bits. Nice tut though :D
Another great tutorial that is also inspiring. Man, when I woke up this morning I didn’t think I’d be saying “Hey I want to buy Antares Atuotune today” at all. Am I going to need an iLok to use this VST? That would be two things I didn’t expect to want today. I guess I haven’t even taken into consideration that I haven’t replaced my condenser mic either! Damn it Fraktal! Making me spend money to feed an addiction!
@devmodemusic LMAO, so sorry devin , just trying to help LOL.i I personally did not use the I-lock. Because it's on my studio computer and it's not going anywhere. But yes if you must reauthorize it you have to have the I-lock.
@HighDefdubstep Im working on a way to achieve this with Ableton Plugins. I think there is definitely a way but until then autotune will be the best bet.
@HighDefdubstep yes you can use the vocoder but I was not totally happy with the effect sound that's why I went and got a autotune. But if it suits your purpose or song absolutely there's no reason why you could not. Experiment away. And also feel free to post responses on your results I'm happy to hear them
@HighDefdubstep you can use the vocoder if you'd like, it's all in what sounds you are after.I personally did not like the vocoder
I ended up buying autotune but it can also be done with melodyne or any other autotune style VST. I believe there are even some free ones if you Google them
haha i was just fucking with this yesterday... random that you would upload a video on how to do this... i also used ableton but i did all this by hand lol divshare.com/download/15672463-5fb
@Booka2309 well you actually can use Melodyne as well. any autotune style plug-in will work to make your own slices this way. Remember you can always use acappellas to do this as well.
you blow my mind fraktal this is awesome i gotta try this thanks!

@Funkmastabuzz yes you can use the arpegiator, its a bit too random unless ur very proficient with arpegiator.but still a kool option.

@HowToAbleton How do you "resample" the reverse vocals and the vocals to one sample?
TheOfficialKevsi 5 months ago
@TheOfficialKevsi Easy way: duplicate track then freeze and flatten it.
