Lets just SAY everyone with over one million dollars is a greedy monster(as they are portrayed) and there is some magic tax that pulls a combined how many billion a year from them to give to everyone else in the country. Now what do you think Donald Trump( the perceived scumbag) is gonna do when taxes threaten his wealth? Leave the country or stay and lose all of his money. I don't know what the actual percentage would be, but if someone that makes 9/hr and pay 4% in taxes, then someone that makes 1 million an hr (as if they need that much) should pay the same 4% in taxes.

Because taxes are made up of more than just income taxes. Property tax, sales tax, etc actually eat up a larger percentage of income for middle and lower class than it does for the top income earners. Increasing the top tax brackets is a way of evening it out... essentially making it more fair for everyone.

Economic history is not on your side. Here's a novel idea: Stop excessive government spending. Back the Federal Gov. out of anything and everthing that it has no clear constitutional right to be involved in. Public school's? State issue. Dept of energy? Show me that anywhere in the constitution! Dept of housing and urban development? State issue. We can't tax our way out of this one. It's too much.
