  • "Let's see how you fare against the Scorpion's sting!"

Sooooo, your super-villain talent is to throw your ass at people, Scorpy? Mac Gargan is easily one of the Web-Head's lamest enemies

  • 18:57

Woah, Namor can actually LIFT that lard-ass! Very impressive.

  • For 2 super hero's they sure walk like" I don't care w/e" :d

  • Hah, all those henchman sound like they're half-kitten.

  • I think this was the first game i ever played that featured dynamic zooming. Shit blew my mind when i was a kid.

  • Why is Spiderman destroying public property?

  • at 6:04

    what did Venom just says?

  • Venom sounds like Andre at the end of the 1950's The Fly. "Help Me!"

  • I remember playing this game almost every day after school, and for some damn reason I kept picking Black Cat.

  • I live by a comic book store that has this game, and it runs perfectly. They take good care of it.

  • Nowadays its all about shooters, dont get me wrong i like them. but give me a beat'em up any day. i miss games like this.

  • @hiku848

a bunch of them are on console for download "these days"..

  • I wish they Spiderman arcada Game on NES ,Super NES or SEGA

  • i agree games dont have that simplicity to them that made them fun!

  • This is what happens when Spiderman smokes tons of pot with Black Cat before they go crime fighting. That's why they're so laxed and the enemies make funny sounds when they die.

  • my family used to go on holiday to Lanzarote every year when i was a kid and there was a small arcade around the corner of the villa we hired with this game

so many memories of me and my siblings playing the crap out of this, thinking we had enough time when we died to sprint back to the villa and get more money when the counter started after we died......we never made it

sooooo many memories in this game!!

  • I never knew of this game. Though spider-man looks kinda bad in it.

  • spiderman looks bored when he walks

  • @SHlNOBl3

    yup

  • @SHlNOBl3 lol

  • is it me or did maximum carnage mimic a lot of this game?

  • Ahh man its like Southend Arcade all over again awesome!!

  • I wonder what the venom voice actor is doing now? I would love to know what he says in this game.

  • THIS GAME WAS very nice back in the days..

  • Funny thing is Spidey's voice in this sounds a lot like Neil Patrick Harris who would voice him in the MTV cartoon from 2003.

  • LOL wtf? I never knew there was an arcade game =o hahahaah look like ass tho.SNES all the way =D

  • best spider man game ever made

  • Spiderman looks weird. Hes just kinda laxy, and

    lanky looking...

  • Yeah! Throw the bodies at each other, lol.

  • Why is Spider-Man fighting the Putty Patrol?

  • GOOD GAME REMINDS MY CHILDHOOD

  • this game is so awesome and fun and the enemies looks like from the armada from vega of Street fighter XDD

  • This is a great Spiderman!

Much better than the stupid "rubberbones" version of Capcom's fighting games.

  • 2:31 Namor has his own line of soda?

  • Spiderman walks like he doesnt even care

  • 2:05 - RING RONG?

  • I remember very much liking this game as a kid, not only for the cool-I-play-spidy side, but the game was fun in itself, as other simple but captivating games like Beast Busters or Alien vs Predator were.

Strange but many nowadays games do not entrance me like an old one could, they lack something, a pure simple FUN factor.

Or I'm becoming an old man with cats...brrrr.

  • @ddashung

    old man with cats, lol

  • @ddashung i'm with you on this!! i get bored faster with newer games. i could play X-Men (arcade) for hours!

  • I actually found this game at an arcade in Toronto during a business trip about 3 years ago. Good Game.

  • @ICEGOD2

    lucky you.

  • woah, this is sweet!

  • use to be my shit at chucky cheese

  • @ 06:03

What Venom says that at he gone dies?

  • @ZDLR221 HAHAHAHHAHAH i have no idea.

  • Ohhh! I forgot that Spiderman has a posture of an old man and walks around on the streets beating the living shit out of people! xp

  • i remember this game like yesterday hahaaa..those dumb mime things and those horrible word effects ha-ha.....VOK...GWAM..tha hell ha-ha

    Great music though!

4:38 the SLOWEST sweeping kick ever but the funny thing is I remember getting hit by that ALL the time ha-ha

    Always liked sub-mariner's throw ha-ha

This is definately easier on the eyes than the X-men game..it looks great even today..good animation!

  • Such an awesome classic, my best friend and me used to fill this came with 20ps for hours! i always found the masked guys hillarious going HOOOOOOOOOOO when you killed em

if there is any justice in the world this game will be added to PSN and XBL just like x-men arcade was

  • They dont make arcade games like this anymore, this harkens back to when Arcade games where like EPIC events, like when STREET FIGHTER 2 debuted.

  • One of the best Arcade Co-ops. Sad it never came out on any of the Sega systems.

  • Cooooooooooooooool

  • i....need .... THIS GAME !!!! O_O

  • Venom: "Nothing can stop us now!" right before he gets tossed by Black Cat like a rag doll.

  • 1:34 . . . what the hell is Venom (or whoever's voice it is) saying?

  • The need to release this on Xbox360 Arcade along with Double Dragon

  • @GWizardMelb

Double Dragon 1 arcade was released on XBL arcade long ago.

  • @acidglow Well I've never seen it when I log on to Live??, and I'm pretty sure I've browsed all the games

  • @GWizardMelb

It's really old dude. Even I've seen it.

  • @acidglow Dude it doesn't exist not on Xbox360 arcade, games on demand or games you can purchase. It may have been on the original Xbox, i'm not sure, but it def isn't on 360. I would love you to prove me wrong tho

  • @GWizardMelb

You want me to prove you wrong? sure. check your PM. lol.

  • @acidglow Why did they get rid of it? that game is gold, so many awesome childhood memories, not to mention DD2 on Nintendo. close to the best of all time in my opinion, thanx for your effort anyway, wish they'd rerelease it!

  • @GWizardMelb

It was released. I just had to get my point across =p

  • GREATEST ARCADE GAME EVER.

  • Oh, my God, I LOVED this game! I actually beat this arcade game once at a mall in Abilene back in 1995. I spent $9 in quarters on that thing, but I beat it! It's still the only arcade game I've ever beaten.

I still think it was odd, though, that Mysterio wasn't a foe in this game, and that Namor was in the game as a playable hero when Human Torch or Daredevil would've been a more logical choice as a guest hero to assist Spidey in the game. Even so, it was still great fun to play.

  • Spidey looks a bit dopey with his arms dangling at his sides.

  • I think Scorpion and Venom is what made this game so awesome when I was a kid. I played the first level over and over back then. I think the furthest I have ever gotten was the part with the Green Goblin.

  • loved this game SO much. musta dropped a fortune of coins into this, golden axe and rolling thunder... good times ^_^

  • Alot of my childhood allowance went to feeding the TMNT 2 Arcade machine. lol

  • @KenobiForce : Ahh, you too huh? lol

  • I love arcade beat-em-ups with great, deatailed graphics!!

  • I like the old school spiderman on this game

  • I remember playing this game back when I was ten. The music, and their voices has been in the back of my head all this time! Thanks! I really wish they upgraded this type of side-scroller for today. This is also the only game I have ever seen with that cool zoom in thing.

  • Art of Fighting series used the zoom aswell. It's a NeoGeo fighting game.

  • 6:33 ADAM CLONE?

  • Spidey's just strolling as if he doesn't give a fuck

  • @journeymanX LMAO

  • damn how weak venom is in this game

  • Well, he's the first boss so... yeah

  • Looks entertaining...thank you for this upload...i never new of this game up till now.

  • Holy Shit I had forgotten this game!!!!

  • love spidey's voice at the begining of this

  • Is it me or do all of the male characters in this game look, walk and fight like they are nearing their 60's

  • lol I know. hunched over, haha.

  • Yes, terrible posture

  • This game was way ahead of its time, it must have had a small production run i have never seen one for sale or at auction, id sure love to pick this up.

  • I love the lizard. to bad he never appeared outside the comic games and cartoon tv series. He was rumored to going to make an apperancer in spider man II or III but that turned out to be false. They used Dolctor Octopus and Sand man and Venom instead. The lizard did kind oif appear briefly in spider man 2 but he was still human he had not invented the syrome yet that transformed him. It was very brief apperances during only a few secens in the Movie.

  • One thing I love about growing up in this era is the cheesy concept of our beat em up games and how forgiving we were as fans. The stories didn't have to relate to much and the characters could be screwy and we were still content..I swear the worst thing to ever happen to stuff is the online community lol

  • Another great Arcade beat em' up that blew the top of your head off when you played it.....great job acidglow, you keep our dreams and memories of the classics alive.

  • I always thought this game looked great when I saw it in the arcades

  • This is one game I wish they released!!! I spent so many quarters and never beat it!!!

  • I loved this game, still do!

Some of the most unique things about it are the way the enemies "melt" into the ground when you beat them. The different modes of play, so there is strategy involved.

When I first beat the game, it was a shock to me. By that I mean when I killed Doom, and Spidey said "It's Over!", I was ready to sigh in relief, but then the floor starts moving and I'm in WTF mode when venom reappears! Oh, don't you love surprises!

  • I wish Konami would put all these superhero games in one compilation disc, man would that baby sell!!!

  • It's not Konami It's Sega

  • i remember playing this game this is awesome

  • cool game. I love how friendly-fire mode is off when you're punching but if you throw a goon on your friend they fall down, haha.

  • It was the same way with Konami's rendition of X-Men.

  • The boss music is the best!

XBOX LIVE needs to put this in their arcade classics ASAP.

  • Agreed. There are TONS of awesome beat-em-ups that need to be released over XBL Arcade. Super Battletoads, X-Men, The Simpsons (arcade), Final Fight, and I'd like to see Double Dragon 2.

  • yea, so ppl can say they are "big fans" and only play the game once for achievements then they don't touch it again.. some fans..

  • that was a good game. Spidey was way too slow though

  • it was suppose to play as beat um ups

  • I like how around the 3:30-4:30 mark Spider-Man just starts slamming people into Black Cat. What an asshole Spidey...

Haha man this game is so classic, thanks for posting the video! I never thought it'd be on here, but I guess that was kind of stupid to think, honestly. Youtube has everything.

  • I always remember playing these games in the arcade with other people. And there was always that 1 butthole who would always take the Lifepacks when he didnt need them!!! No matter where you would play there would be a Butthole lifepack stealing sob!

  • it wouldn't be so bad if you weren't constantly draining life.

  • im only play this arcade one time in my life,

i like to see one dvd or blue ray with all that classics heros arcades games on for this generation platforms

  • 0:11 Are you talking to yourself Spiderman?

  • Classic!!

  • the music in this is awsome and the game is better than all spidy's games today.

  • I dunno. this game is awesome but spiderman 2 was pretty good swining around... hard to say wich of these two were the best..

  • lol it's nice to see spidey and black cat fighting together. i remember this one when i was a kid! tnx for the post!!!

  • thankx for the comment. glad it brought back memories.

  • for me it did. i saw this game in a old pizza shop when i was a kid.

  • good thing maximum carnage had a plot

  • this looks like a living comic book! more than an animated show ever did! awesome! I loved this game back in the day!

  • i love how spider man looks like on a stroll in the park....oh..giant venom...better do something...yawn

  • Spidey in his 60s

  • i remember playing dis game classic

  • i loved this one and the xmen one

  • It's been forever since I've played this...

  • I never played this one. Impressive!

  • One of many cool ass elusive arcade games that I never got to play! Who would have thought Sega could have put out a beat'em up that was on par with any Capcom or Konami games from that year? Thanks for this post! Still sucks I never got to experience playing the actual arcade version of this!!

  • agreed. Perhaps they hired many employees from Capcom or Konami.

  • That's quite possible! I hadn't thought of that! Thanks for your reply!

  • the hell did venom say when he was beaten?

  • What is going on

  • Youve got to love the character selection, I mean who would have thought of this combination! I love it. Sub-mariner from the 30's hawkeye from the 70's! And the combanation of Dr Doom, Dr Octopus and so many others makes this game. I WISH they still had this at the local arcade, I would buy it off them for thousands...

  • man i love the old marvel arcades

    this avngrs, xmen and punisher

  • Holy shit(!) She started wailing on Venom @ 1:55

  • This game and the Avengers arcade used to empty my pockets

  • the best spiderman game ever

  • OMG i remember this game

  • good for you.

  • Hah, Spider-man walks around like he's bored looking for a TV remote in this game. I used to play this at the bowling alley.

  • lol

  • This game was and forever will be BOSS!

    :D

  • Instead of producing junk for XBLA like that Happy tree Friends game, SEGA should just get the license from Marvel and por this game to XBLA/PSN instead! This game would be perfect for such a platform.

  • OMG I love the BGM for the first stage! It doesn't sound like music that you'd hear in a arcade game as early as this, as well as the graphics, they were pretty awesome to be in the early nineties.

  • Yeah totally, the music in the first stage is awesome!

  • My favorite part of the soundtrack is when Venom gets bigger.

  • Yeah, its from Quartet ^_^

  • I remembered getting a bunch of quarters just so I can play this game at the arcades non stop.......... good times

  • namor was the best. him and spidey were the best combo on this game

  • it's a good game but ihated the fact that usin you powers hurt you

  • Haven't played this game in years.

  • Man, this game rocks! I played it at Coney Island arcades in the 90s. Good memories.

  • good times, I'm a bit upset that this game didn't port over to the consoles. It's a regular who's who of Spider villians. However, the inclusion of both Hawkeye and Namor was a bit odd... Daredevil and Human Torch would have been more fitting.

  • That's exactly what I thought, dude...ditto about your statement regarding Daredevil, although personally, I think it would be a bit redundant to have the Human Torch as a playable character as well, because wouldn't it look kinda weird to have only one member of the Fantastic Four present, and not the other three? But hey, it's your opinion.

I thought maybe Moon Knight would make a better fourth partner, but that's just my two cents

  • I said Torch cuz him and Spidey had regular team-ups back in the early days, and Doom is here, and does not seem to want to stay down. hahaha.

  • Yeah I agree though Spidey has teamed up with pretty much everybody he does have a goo friendship with Daredevil n Human Torch also DD has tangled with the Kingpin a lot and Hawkeye was a playable character in th avengers game though still a good game

  • The reason why Namor was a playable character in this game is becuase by that time he was one of the best selling titles with the whole John Byrne re-interpretation and Hawkeye was living his hey-day with the west coast Avengers, as a weird fact both of them have apeared in more games than other heroes like Thor or Giant Man/Ant man

  • It's A good game

  • thanks acidglow for this vid i love this game

  • Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Great game, even though I've still never understood why they had Hawkeye as a playable character...I mean, wouldn't Daredevil be a more appropriate choice seeing is that he's tangled with the Kingpin a lot more than Hawkeye has?

  • I spent years and years of my childhood playing this awesome game in the arcades I only ever picked spiderman cause I was an obsessive fan at the time and I still am!

  • I remember this game it's like one of the first major marvel arcade game of all time.look what kind of game today show you fighting all of those boss charaters at once?
