I really enjoy the car commericals of the 50's, 60's and early 70's. The sent a message about carrying about others, enjoying life with family and friends. Today, at least what I take out of the car commericals is about your ego, selfish behavior, attitude. Not a valuable moral character to teach our children. So, when I see these new cars, that is the first impression I get which is linked to the commercial. I can afford a new car, but my heart is with the classics of yesterday. Be blessed.
When this suburban was new in 1957 my parents bought one for a cross country summer trip that year, I was 10 years old. In Ohio we were hit head on by a drunk driver. I was in the rear facing third seat and was catapulted through the windshield and ultimately ended up under the car. Mom and dad survived after a long recovery and I was never fond of Station Wagons since.....Don't much like Suburbans.
